destinychildolu:How many months does it usually take to get a student visa approved after submitting the application? What are my chances of getting a visa if my tuition fee is CAD $36,000 for a 2-years program, and I plan to pay half (i.e., one year’s tuition) upfront? How much POF is required for a family of 4? If I'm splitting the POF between accounts, how much should be in the main applicant’s account at minimum? Or is it acceptable for all the funds to be in the spouse’s (sponsor's) account? |

Hi everyone, I’m looking to apply to a graduate program at Fanshawe College for the January 2026 intake. I’d like to know if it’s still a good time to apply, especially considering the current study permit processing timelines. Thank you. |

Majeedahh:Please plan beyond just getting a visa, and don’t come to Canada thinking study equals PR. Many students, especially in Ontario, are now stranded! misled by TikTok and fake success stories. Do real research, choose the right program, plan ur funding and also plan your PR path carefully. The reality is much tougher than what influencers show. Good luck |

uchennay:Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. I’ll definitely take this to heart and plan carefully beyond just getting the visa. 🙏🏽 |

Good morning @everyone. I recently applied for a study permit in Canada and I have gotten to the medicals stage and I want to ask what's next after medicals...Is it a positive indication for getting the visa or it doesn't matter? |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by orjohn24: 9:36am On Jul 24, 2025 |
KakashiJonin:Next is wait for ircc decision on ur application but medicial passed only mean ur application under processing that not final decision and it does mean ur visa will be accepted or rejected! |

KakashiJonin:If the medical was requested by the VO, it’s a positive sign. I know the wait can be nerve wracking, you would get a decision soon. Congratulations in advance |

Hello people. I'm supposed to do medicals for Canada immigration via spousal route. On the IMM form sent to me by IRCC, only Lagos and Abuja IOM medical centers were recognized alongside Qlife clinic but I heard there's an IOM center in Benin. I already booked Lagos for the medical but would it be possible to cancel that appointment and visit the iom center in Benin instead as it's much closer to me. I tried reaching the IOM call centers but we truly have an issue with call centers in this country, they're either not manned or the call doesn't go through at all. Anyone have an IOM call center contact that actually goes through? |

franugo:Go and do your medicals at the venues posted on IRCC website..Benin is not part of it .. |

Good morning y’all! Please do I still need to include a sponsorship letter in my application if 90% of my POF comes from a gift deed from my mother from the sale of her land and 10% of my POF comes from my employment ……..is gift deed enough coupled with other documents to show source of funds, mind you I am not including her bank statement because she doesn’t really have much money in it just mine and I have also paid my full tuition fee……please advise do I need to include sponsorship letter or not or the gift deed is enough… |

Good morning to the gurus in the house, please i need your advise on an issue. For someone with a visitor visa and presently in Canada, can such a person apply for a study visa while in Canada or can he go to USA to apply since he has a US visitor visa or must he go back to Nigeria before applying? |

| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 1:43am On Jul 31, 2025 |
You can apply for a study permit inside of Canada, but going to the US because you have a VV won't work, because you don't have a status in the US. b4biodun: |

Outlining the process is long; I would suggest you go through the thread or drop your question for people to respond. Aisosa22: |

Check if the school is linked with Flywire, PayMyTuition, etc. if you have someone in Europe, the US, or Canada that is reliable to assist you. ifeanyija: |
