The most important thing in the preseason is for the manager to get the 1st team players up to speed and unfortunately for Kone that midfield is already choked with players Amorim needs to give minutes to get them up to speed before Kone. Showing us his level is less important than showing the manager (and he gets to do that in training every day against the senior pros).

He will get his chance when they feel he is ready. The coaching staff are seeing him in training on a daily basis and most likely have an idea where he is at. Bruno, Mainoo, Collyer, Ugarte, Casemiro need those minutes more but i believe Kone will get some minutes in the next couple of games.

Is he also bring Fredericson, Mantato, Williams upto speed for the first team next season? Is Collyer even better than Kone? Two straight matches and Kone didn't get to play as a sub, Amorim should give him playing time make some of us see how good or bad he is..

Like i said earlier preseason is not meant mainly to show fans who is good or bad. That is secondary. The main goal is to get players ready for the season and for the coaching staff to see who is ready amongst the other players.

Williams would not have had any minutes as well if Cunha, Zirkzee, or Mbeumo were fit. Kone on the other hand is battling Case, Mainoo, Bruno, Ugarte, Collyer for minutes. I have read that the coaching staff have given him extra training sessions away from the rest of the team to build up his strength first.

The coaches have assessed him and believe he needs some extra strength and conditioning before getting minutes. His time will come and should not be at the detriment of getting minutes for those the coach believes can help the team right now.

Showing you how good he is should be secondary in the grand scheme of things. It is the coaching staff that will determine when he is ready.

I think he should continue with the under 18's Nd not the first team..

If he is being left out due to fitness concern, then that's fine. Me want to see him play and pre-season is a good avenue to give all players chance to stake their claim. I am sure a lot of fans also want to see him play

Fans wanting to see him play is secondary to his development. That is the point. Insisting on seeing him play when he might not be ready to bang with adult players consistently seems selfish to me. This guy was a scrawny African kid just a year ago. Let the nutritionists and physical therapists build him up first.
He is not Diego Leone who looks like either a middleweight boxer or a mob enforcer. Kone has the potential but if the coaching staff who see him every day decide to be patient with him, we should respect that a bit.

I believe Kone will make his appearance this preseason, but it can't be at the detriment of the 1st team selection process.

Send him on loan to that our sister club in Switzerland. I have said this before, as a striker he needs to reach at least 21/22 before he can come up to speed as a premier league player. He still have 3/4 years to catch up.
