engrelvis:Ball carrying abilities are intrinsic and do not depend on style of play, formation, or tactics. This is almost the same thing as saying Ronaldo will miss 1v1 because he’s playing in a 4-2-4 formation instead of 4-3-3. His finishing ability is innate and natural. It doesn’t rely on formation, tactics or his team’s style of play. |

patrickmuf:Yesterday while play was still ongoing Bruno was fighting with another player, and some players had to join them to settle the fight. Match was still ongoing o. Players that should be sprinting into position were fighting or settling fight. The indiscipline some dey make me purge. You're almost guaranteed to see an opposition player outsprint our midfielders |

eph12:One of my biggest worries is that Bruno, a player that time and time again drops standards, is looked up to for inspiration and consistency in maintaining high standards. That second goal yesterday wouldn’t have happened if Bruno did the simple thing and Casemiro wasn’t finished. |

The only good thing is that this team is better at creating chances and scoring goals. The front 3 in the first half yesterday were very fluid and caused Everton plenty of headaches. If they are fit and with Amad and Dorgu bombing forward, we can at least hope to outscore our opponents. |

This is What Manchester United face in their first ten games in the Premier league. Even the most optimistic fan has to admit that this is a herculean task. But then some will only see what they want to see.....

engrelvis:You are ascribing our struggles to the formation meanwhile the reason this current manager was appointed midseason in the first place is because the previous manager was struggling with these same players using a different formation. Changing formation alone won’t magically solve our problems. We had these problems under different formations. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 1:05pm On Aug 04, 2025 |
engrelvis:He was bad that is why Chelsea spent 100m pounds rising to 115m pounds on him? Breaking British transfer record. |

engrelvis:We all hope Amorim can improve the players he met. That is logical and part of his job. My point is that changing formation is not the only way to improve player performance, especially players that struggled under different formations in the past. It is not a magic wand that eradicates our problems. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 1:20pm On Aug 04, 2025 |
Leyqute:Bruno trying to nutmeg an opposition player instead of a simple pass when we had only 2 defenders back. Bruno stopping to fight on the pitch like an Area Boy while opposition players are flooding towards his own 18-yd box. Casemiro committing to a sliding tackle prematurely like he often does instead of standing on his feet and running with his man. These are the issues changing formation will magically solve. LOL We should have sold Bruno but I think Amorim preferred having a loyalist captain in the squad to the money he would have brought. Time will tell if this was a monumental error or not. |

Watching the highlights of Man u's game and the part of Bruno having a scuffle with that Everton player instead of tracking the ball down is the most stupidest thing i have ever seen.. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by larride(m): 1:22pm On Aug 04, 2025 |
Coach has always used 3-4-3 or the variants You club went for the coach mid season with the manager saying he will stick with him 3-4-3, the club agreed. But to some of you, all that's needed is for the coach to change formation to whatever as if we didn't watch the same players under different formation. My own is for Amorim to get the team to work, whichever formation he use is non of my concern. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by larride(m): 1:24pm On Aug 04, 2025 |
afrodoc:If we end up buying Sesko, it would've made sense to sell Bruno tbh because it seems the board finally woke up and is invested in the team. That 100m would've helped us to get a solid midfielder and a decent deputy. If it doesn't work, Amorim will take the full blame. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by dreamxhaser: 3:06pm On Aug 04, 2025 |
Honestly, saying that Amorim is the problem is a bit too harsh. The players just aren't good enough. We've had different managers, but it's the same story—so is Amorim really the problem? Who among the players in the midfield would make it into the starting eleven for teams like Chelsea, Manchester City, or Liverpool? We all know the answer is none. The only thing these players know how to do is play counter-attacking football. I would prefer that we just play counter attacking long balls and skip the midfield, but it seems the club doesn't want that. So let's forget about it and focus on the pressing issues. Let's be honest, Cunha and Mbuemo made our attack more effective than the days of Rashford and his teammates. For the first time in years, I can feel some level of hope whenever the ball is moving forward, unlike before, when I was 90% certain they would make stupid runs or just pass the ball backward. That shows you how players can change the dynamic of a team. For now, we don't have the privilege of playing every player in the position we want. The only messed-up thing is that we're going for a striker instead of a midfielder. |

dreamxhaser:Lol, una no dey learn. Amorim has already purchased 3 players, plus he bought Ugarte at Sporting before United snapped him up. Until we get to 7-9 new players purchased for Amorim without any improvement in play before una eyes go clear. Well, I won’t be surprised if at that time, you and your guys come here to tell us that he has not been given his players. We dey here together! |

Sesko agent met with Leipzig officials on Saturday to discuss his future, i guess the Club told him to choose both team to provoke a bidding war. I don't think United will win this race, cos Newcastle has more money to throw around... |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by nitrogen(m): 3:51pm On Aug 04, 2025 |
If you like, buy Sesko, Beleba, Matamy, and cocoman. You will still complain about those players when they get here. Amorim is not taking us to any where. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by engrelvis(m): 5:37pm On Aug 04, 2025 |
dreamxhaser:Coaches (since sir Alex left) have been buying their own players. LVG, MOU, ETH etc all bought their so prefer players but we are still not moving forward.l dnt like dwelling in the past.Amorim is on board now so let face him.He shud bring out the best in this team .That's y he was employed |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Goosethetruth(m): 6:57pm On Aug 04, 2025 |
Ruben Amorim has brought in some of his own new players like (1) Dorgu (2) Leon (3) Heaven (4) Cunha (5) Mbeumo yet fans keep on gaslighting and pretending that he has not brought in any players. That is why the agenda is to keep throwing the players under the bus as the problem instead of blaming the strait jacket system which is the real issue. A good coach should be able to utilise whatever tools in his hands to get a result instead of conducting endless interviews whinging and blaming players for your short comings. Ruben Amorim has been brought here to do a job and he should do the job clearly instead of endless gaslighting and blaming players while conducting choo choo choo interviews up and down. He should look at the first 10 fixtures in the league. No body is going to listen to players excuse if Manchester United are rooted in the relegation zone by December which is a clear and possible situation considering the fixtures list.

I dont know why some people are just too negative about amorim!!! Tell them to recommend coach, you will see them recommending pochettino, David moyes..some people are just too rigid with that 433 formation..person won play in pattern.... Behind the TV coach will be giving their own formation like say no be waiting we experience for the last 6 years without no tangible trophy... If another coach come with 433 formation they will tell him to switch to counter attack!!... No be man u fans again... People wey clamored here for ten hag to switch to counter I no fit count them for here... .... |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Englishisamust: 7:04pm On Aug 04, 2025 |
Urgate best performance so far has been under this same amorim formation... . We can see what he did against Chelsea when Van nesterooy used 4 33 formation he was just losing ball up and down. Misplacing passes. ... |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Goosethetruth(m): 7:22pm On Aug 04, 2025 |
Ruben Amorim has been provided with new players in Heaven,Leon,Dorgu,Cunha and Mbeumo. More players area are being sought to satisfy his desire to play football in a rigid controlled strait jacket way. He should do the job he has been employed to do because nobody is ready to listen to endless excuses if by December 2025 Manchester United find themselves rooted to the bottom of the league table inside a relegation dog fight which is a clear and present possibility considering the first 10 league fixtures. Except we are deceiving ourselves the first ten games are fixtures from hell fire. Amorim should wake up and do his job. Enough of sweet talk. Nobody is ready for any gaslighting if by December 2025 United are in a relegation dog fight. He was employed to do a job so he should do it!

odizeey:I am just tired of some folks here. That other dude keeps posting our opening fixtures as if the rest of us don't have access to the internet. Imagine him mentioning Leon and Heaven among the players we have acquired just to push a silly narrative...Leon and Heaven are for the future, Amorim has gone about addressing some of the problem areas with the signings so far but we all agree we need a goalie, DM and a CF to really stand a chance...Some might even argue that we can make do with a DM and CM and make do with what we have in attack. Let us see if the club can fill these positions with quality players before we start panicking. |

Mrviktor:I suspect Newcastle are already prepping for life without Isak and see Sesko as the natural replacement. They probably want to get their man before selling Isak for big bucks...apparently to prevent further exploitation by other clubs. To think sesko would even cost more than Osihmen.. Lmao. 90m loool Manchester United waiting on one Benjamin Sesko from Leipzig to make up his mind amidst interest from Newcastle, literally sums up the depths to which the club has sunk. Benjamin Sesko?? Seriously?? ![]()
