He had premier league experience which is all that matters and he did very well at Ipswich coming for cheap at just €30million and you still complained. Nothing satisfies United fans.

I didn't watch the other games. Honestly, we need a midfielder even more than a CF but whatever the club thinks is best, they should do...

If Bruno is more disciplined, he can play behind Cunha and Mbeumo and we use the money for Sesko for Baleba or any top DM. I wouldn't even mind if we signed a CM to add to the mix because Casemiro, Collyer and Ugarte are not enough in terms of quality. I will let Mainoo deputise for Bruno.

Strikers are overpriced these days because there are so few good ones so it is difficult.

It is not impossible but just difficult. Our scouting is not the best and our negotiation is even worse. Bad combo.

The irony would be if he comes and Hojlund starts benching him. Would it be a good decision to have the two of them in the squad? There aren’t many games to go around like last season.

If he comes it most likely means we have to offload Hojlund to balance the books. I don’t think Hojlund can bench him and also there won’t be enough minutes to share.

I want the board to give Amorim all the tools he needs so that he won't have any excuse to fall back on if he fails. I have seen Amorim complaining about our midfield, especially during this preseason. I just hope the board goes all out and gets him a midfield or two and maybe a goalie after Sesko. We can't afford another poor season.

The problem is that no club is willing to pay for them. Garnacho is keen on leaving but doesn't want to join a team outside the EPL, Hojlund, on the other hand, doesn't want to leave.

Maybe you have forgotten the Europa league final, a game we controlled and still lost because we couldn't score. I am glad the club is not thinking like you. Our most urgent issue is a striker and goalgetters. Not a midfielder. Even with games we control we do not score goals. Look at the last 10 games we played last season . Specifically the games we controlled we lost including that final.

Read my post again. I was talking about fans reaction here when we were interested in bringing in Delap who was available for cheap.

Safe for a few...I mean those who want Amorim to use a washed-up Casemiro, average Ugarte, injury-prone Mount, young Mainoo and inconsistent Bruno to finish in the top 4.

So what is stopping Amorim and the board from buying midfielders? At least majority of fans here agree the midfield need urgent improvement, and Amorim should know this too since he train the team regularly..

We can't put our trust in Casemiro and Ugarte man. This club need to do something in that area tbh.

Which is why I am amused by those talking about needing a midfielder over a striker. Maybe they have forgotten the Europa League final, a game we dominated and still lost because we couldn't score. Our biggest issue is clearly a lack of goals, not midfield control. Even when we control games, we couldn't score. Just look at the matches at the end of last season, especially the ones we dominated and still ended up losing, including that final.

We have gone a long way towards fixing our attack with the addition of Cunha and Mbeumo...Nobody is saying the club shouldn't sign a striker but the concern here is that it shouldn't come at the expense of a midfielder (DM) which is an area we haven't strengthened at all.

I also feel we need a striker more than a midfielder. We bought Cunha and Mbeumo but they are not CFs, even if they are good attackers. A good striker will ice the cake on our attack.

If they can't get a striker, let them get a good midfielder sha.

That is where good scouting and negotiation comes in. Many of us are mentioning Baleba because he the obvious quality midfielder that we see regular. We all have our own jobs to do and families to feed but the club actually employs people whose whole job is to scout for players or negotiate deals. Those are the ones who should either get an affordable Baleba alternative or negotiate Baleba's fee down.

Great physical abilities and good ball carrying ability. I am not sure about his passing. I will have to check the stats on that. One thing that i am hoping for is for Mainoo to make the jump this season especially in terms of his passing volume & range and general work rate. If that happens then a player like Onana could work.

For now, every single one of our central midfielders is flawed.

I never said that. That is why i said it is difficult but not impossible.

Well, that's true sha. Brighton will not agree sha. They won't beat down the price to anything reasonable.
