Great physical abilities and good ball carrying ability. I am not sure about his passing. I will have to check the stats on that. One thing that i am hoping for is for Mainoo to make the jump this season especially in terms of his passing volume & range and general work rate. If that happens then a player like Onana could work.

For now, every single one of our central midfielders is flawed.

They bought him for 50m and he is just 23yrs old with those physical attributes. They are not selling for less than 70m.

I think you are talking about Boubacar Kamara. He was linked with us in 2022 on a free transfer but instead we paid 60m for Casemiro and he joined Villa for free.

Professional players shouldn't be trying to get fit or conditioned during the new season because it never works and it increases the likelihood of injuries occurring. Players are supposed to be already fit/ conditioned at the start of the new season. That is what preseason workouts are for.

If Kone is not good enough for the first team, then Collyer or Moorhouse shouldn't be in the first team next season too. If the board fail to sign a midfielder due to limited cash, then i would rather have Kone over Collyer in midfield...

I have not watched Kone, so I can't say but I am sure his time will come. My only fear now is that our midfield is so average that if Kone comes in and struggles, it might affect his confidence going forward.
