Dear Cashmadam. Thank you for your response the last time. I truly appreciate your guidance.

To you and other experienced members of this group, I received the attached email this morning and would like to seek your advice. In your experience, has anyone who received a similar letter subsequently had their visa approved?

I must admit I am beginning to feel a bit concerned, and I would be grateful for any insights or reassurance you can provide.
You are welcome.

It's a basic letter to inform you that your application is still under consideration and to alert you that it might take longer than the standard 15 working days.

Nothing to worry about. Or is there any particular reason you are worried?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by 9jaLaw(m): 3:31pm On Aug 08, 2025
Thank you very much, Cashmadam, for your response.

To be honest, I am a bit concerned. Here's some background information: I completed the second part of my postgraduate studies as an exchange student in the UK in 2009, studying at a German university. Unfortunately, subsequent visa refusals, particularly my UK visa refusal in 2018, when my family of four also applied, were quite discouraging and have led me to avoid travelling or applying to the UK since then.

I have also been reflecting on my current application in light of our discussions here. I earn over ₦1 million monthly but declared ₦500,000 as my monthly expenses. In reality, my monthly expenditure is roughly double that, based on my salary account. Additionally, I maintain a USD savings account with a closing balance of over $7,000, for which I submitted a six-month statement. This account has not received any inflows in the past six months, apart from a $900 per diem paid earlier this year by my employer’s accountant for a work trip to South Africa. Although I mentioned in my cover letter that this account represents my savings, I did not go into further detail. Reading that “unexplained deposits” or “declared monthly expenses significantly lower than actual expenses” could influence the outcome of a visa application has given me pause. Although in this case, my employer is sponsoring me, and I presented their statement of account in the last 6 months. The opening balance was over 100 million, while the closing balance was about half that. Although, as a professional services firm, there were several inflows and debits from that account.

My hope is that my application will be assessed solely on its merits and not on any unfounded or unverified assumptions. huh

[quote author=giselle237 post=136384365]The bank statements tht you did not attach for yourself what was the reason? [/quote

I sent 6 months bank statement to the agent, I don't know if he uploaded it or not.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 3:57pm On Aug 08, 2025
@shindaraola you need to find out.
If it was truly submitted then you can complain that your application was not accurately assessed as required and raise a formal complaint..
If it was not, it is part of the costly mistakes the agent has made.
All in all, find out and take your next step.

Good evening everyone. Is it compulsory for a sponsor to submit payslips in addition to bank account?
Also, the sponsor is a British citizen and works in the UK but wants to use her Nigerian Bank account. Is that OK?

Hi guys,
I booked a flight for Uk from Lagos. I used Ethiopian airline. The itinerary is from:
1. Lagos to Addis Ababa (Ethiopian airline)
2. Addis Ababa to Copenhagen (Ethiopian airline)
3. Copenhagen to Aberdeen (SAS)
however I didn’t consider if I would require a transit visa at Copenhagen when I made this booking. I contacted Ethiopian airline and I was informed I don’t need a transit visa since the next flight is the same day as the stop over and 9hrs stop, as long as I would be within the airport and hold a valid uk visa with my point of entry being non Schengen and point of exits is Uk (non Schengen) I do not require transit visa.
However when I called the same global Ethiopian airline support again the new agent that attended said I would be needing transit visa, leaving me with conflicting information.
Has anyone faced this same issue? Did you require transit visa?

@giselle237 and other veterans , I have a question please

As I’m filling the application for my parents for a visit , there is a question about income and savings. They are both unemployed but have bank accounts which I consistently send money to every month and they also have money market fund which generates interest every quarter but they automatically re invest it

So I plan to fill
Other regular income :
- allowance from family
- investments

And then in total amount of regular additional income , I add the money I send them + the interest from the money market (even though it just gets re invested) .

And then for “how much you have in savings” , add the amount in money market fund + amount in normal bank account

Is this okay ?

Thank you

You can send them an email:
complaints@homeoffice.gov.uk

You can also use the online form:
https://www.ukvi-complaints.homeoffice.gov.uk/reason

Or contact UKVI through the general enquiry form. This will cost you £2.74.

You will need a transit visa unless you have Schengen, Canada, USA, or Japan visa.

You need a transit visa. Cancel the ticket (if it won't cost too much) or apply for a transit visa. I hope you have time to do that.

Honestly, you just have to be positive and pray the outcome is favourable.

Based on the information you provided, you are likely to get the visa as it is an official trip sponsored by your employer. Your personal circumstances will come into play but previous refusals do not prevent you from getting a visa.

They are most likely trying to verify some of the information you provided.

Keep us informed on your progress.

1. Use the email option..the sending of code to mobile phone number doesn't work for me.

2. I don't think you'll need a transit visa

Why do you want to book a ticket for more than two months? I'm sure that if you included this duration in your visa application, they would never have issued it. Are you planning to travel for tourism for more than two months?
Yes, you can carry food items when travelling in GhanamustGo bag.
Pray that you encounter a UKVI officer at the border who doesn't check your ticket or its duration. If you book such a ticket, you may have a difficult time at the border, especially as a first-time traveler to the United Kingdom.
Oh !
So are you saying it’s not advisable to book a return ticket for that long?
Also what about tendering just one ticket if asked?

Pls book ur return ticket. You are good to go. A visitor with no return ticket? You’ll be in for trouble.

@giselle237. Asking for a friend. If you claimed you are employed and also own your own business in your previous application. Can you phase out the " owning your own business" part in your next application.
Explaining business transactions and earnings has been landed him 2 refusals in the last 18 months. Please advise. Thanks

Hello everyone,

I would like to make enquiry about getting this email last week 4 of August 2025 from UKVI stating: We are unable to make a decision on your application within published visa processing times.
And since then I’ve not gotten any email from them.

Please, what can I do, school will resume in less than a month?

Show evidence that you have met in person: vacation pictures, wedding pictures, any pictures of you two together.

Show evidence of subsisting relationship: bills in both your names, evidence of living in same address, joint assets, joint bank accounts, chats etc
