Considering Rashford's fall out with Amorim, I think he also felt the same way...as per that interview.
You would think this, until you remember how woeful and lethargic he was under ETH as well, especially at the beginning of last season.

He made some good points about having a solid foundation and culture at the club, but that’s about it.

So you're saying we should've stuck with ETH? You really are your moniker grin
Honestly if you go back to my previous posts especially during my back and forth with that christobam guy. I wanted 10HAG out cause I couldn’t see what he was implementing.

For Amorim you can see signs. That means we should give him time same with OLE.

Let’s give him like 3 to 4 seasons. While putting in mind that there should be little improvements no matter how little each season and we will get there.

Also of the things affecting United was lack of club philosophy.

But The board changed last year, wasnt the same that picked Ten Hag. Kept faith in him as they were fighting for trophies (and won one) while they changed things around him and waited for his downfall to start their own project, which was Amorim.

I am suspecting it’s now the clubs project and they just picked Amorim to do the job.

But the Klopp and Arteta you cited as examples, also came in mid season and didnt finish 15th...no?
Like I said I can’t judge him from last season. I will start with this season

The key word is progress. In those years Liverpool didn't win, we saw progress on the pitch and the league table. It was the same with Arsenal...

In our case, it's an up and down slope which is unacceptable. Let Arteta dare finish 8th with the current team and see if he won't be chased with a cutlass from Arsenal.
I hated ETH Becuse there was no signs of progress in his style

But there are signs with Amorim, even OLE had signs and I felt the club shouldn’t have sacked him

If Klopp had finished 15th with Liverpool, he would probably be an assistant coach in a 5th Tier league somewhere in Cyprus or Malta at the moment!

Last season, Amorim was literally dragging position with the likes of Nathan Jones, Paul Jewel, Frank de Boer etc as the worst manager in the history of the Premier league.

It was a dreadful performance and there is really no need trying to sugar-coat it!
This was just a general review of how things have panned out at the club in relation to the coaches we have had over the past couple of years. How you managed to narrow it down to Amorim who took over when we were visibly on a downward spiral is typical of you.

Let's see what Amorim has to offer between now and October. The team has been reasonably reinforced, so he has no excuse not to make top 4 especially when you consider the fact that we have no European football to distract the players.

With Ole, we made progress up to a point and then stagnated before going on a downward spiral. Ole did a good job in stabilising the team but he just couldn't take us to the next level.

I am a CR7 fan boy but brining CR7 was one of the things that destabilized OLE’s team. Even Maguire mentioned it in his interview.

You could see that the team was trying to play a style that would fit CR7.

Well he brought Ronaldo that cost him his job, but they should have given him more time

Arsenal finished 8th, 8th, and 5th in Arteta’s first three seasons. They stuck by him through the growing pains, and now he’s delivered three consecutive top-2 finishes, we would kill to be in that position to be consistently challenging for the title. Klopp’s Liverpool followed a similar arc: 8th, 4th, 4th, 2nd, before winning major trophies in his fifth season. That’s what long-term commitment looks like, trusting the process even when results aren’t immediate.
What if Amorim finishes 15th again this season, will you still be backing him long term?

On the basis of that season, No!

With the significant investment we have made and the fact that we are not participating in any continental competition, Amorim has no excuse not to make top 4.

I don’t think he knew that Ronaldo was coming in until it was too late to say no to the transfer. If INEOS were in charge then, OLE would’ve gotten us farther.

I wasnt the one that decided to use the Klopp/Arteta analogy. It's a fact that they didnt finish 15th position and if they did, they would have been kicked out even before the season ended....

Amorim is currently one of the worst managers to have graced the EPL and he needs to punch above his weight to get that horrible reputation off his back.

Downward spiral my foot.

He literally brought the club to its knees last season....breaking unspeakable records left right and centre!

Amorim dreadful performance last season has made it such that a 7th position finish this season would still be acceptable to many.

The standards and expectations are currently at an all time low!!

What is your minimum expectation for the season?

With the huge investments and absence of European Football distractions, anything short of a top 4 finish would be unsatisfactory....just like you opined.

We really need to start playing CL football again as soon as possible. Might manage a 5th position finish + an FA cup win if the PL gets an extra CL slot.

If we somehow find ourselves in the title race (as serious contenders) then yes, one can argue that it should be enough to wipe off last season's shameful slate!

i think amorim met a sick team. Hence he wasn't able to weave his magic with the crop of players at hand. Remember, he was once quoted as saying this is the worst man united side in history because the team refuse to improve. Let see how next season goes when he has no excuse for failure

No surprises there. He’s been fighting defenders the whole of last season.

Patience is a virtue anyway and with it being 12 years since we won a league title and 17 years since we won the champions league and 8 years since we won any European championship, we actually have no option but to be patient

We always give excuses instead of calling out the obvious shortcomings and failures of the coach.

Liverpool were also on a downward spiral. I remember the previous manager was dismissed an hour after they dropped points in the Merseyside derby. The team finished 6th or so in the previous season...trophyless.

Klopp...mid-season, inherited a team that won just a single game in 9 matches, yet managed to finish in 8th position.....6 points from Top 4.

Then we have Conte/ Tuchel success stories at Spurs and Chelsea respectively but NO..our pathetic 15th position finish must come with excuses on the manager's behalf!

Nawa!

I'm not sure about 4th. Liverpool,City, Arsenal and Chelsea are all significantly ahead of us. Maybe 5th at best case scenario.

Correct but you are focusing on the messenger…

Ronaldo said something similar in his interview and now Rashford is re-echoing it.
