They knew this deal would be difficult cos of notorious Brighton, but still wasted weeks looking at the possibility. Wharton is available if Crystal Palace won't try to skin United too....

Wharton will be very expensive too. Crystal Palace are about to get loads of cash from selling Eze and Guehi, so they will be very reluctant to sell Wharton as well.

I also think we need a more athletic player than Wharton right now. I would have preferred Baleba this season and then Wharton next season.

We should be loaning another midfielder to add to the squad last last. It’s cheaper and the upsides are way higher than the downsides.

I don't think Wharton adds anything this team doesn't already have asides competition for spots, which is good anyways but not the immediate issue.

Wharton actually adds things we don't have in defensive midfield, namely ability to take the ball from the defenders on a half turn and then dictate play from midfield.

With Wharton we would be able to pass the ball through central midfield which we currently are unable to do. This is one reason why we struggle to play out from the back. We have no progressive passer in midfield. The only issue is that i think we need the athleticism of a Baleba even more.

Our midfield options are all dead. Only Mainoo has potential because he is still young and has decent technique. All the rest should actually be offloaded and replaced with players like Baleba, Wharton, Douglas Luiz etc.
