I didn't infere that Bruno has to be in CM. the thing is he can do a job in CM. even with the new signings, I think he's joint with Dorgu and maybe Mbeumo on players that can be place holders for the multiple positions.
in the absence of quality naturals, somebody with the closest traits to do a job in the position must cover it. that's first.

secondly, the message being forced online - mainly by people who watch these "pundit" channels on YouTube and in turn parrot same lines every game week, whether it had a bearing on the result or not - seem to be Bruno is useless or is singlehandedly holding back the team. that cannot be farther from the truth. he had 19 goals/19 assists last season in 'that' Man United team and created 91 chances, most in the league. I also doubted the stat when I saw it. some people will regurgitate.. but he loses the ball bla bla bla, yes; the timelines however, spells out that there's more positive contribution to his game even in this current state.
we've signed quality players to boost output, I agree and they may ultimately anchor the redemption but until proven otherwise this season, he's still out surest route to goals and the club was smart to retain him even if it's until the new group finds a bearing.

as things stand, we have a lot of cover in the forward positions with players that can function in at least two positions without significant drop in quality. I think the same can be said for the back three positions. the wingback positions we will see as the season progresses and Amorim rotates in those areas. it almost seem like some fans do not want competition for places. what about the possibility of injuries??

if the club ends up signing new CMs this window, which I think the club should still chase, even moreso than GK position; great. the players want to earn their places on the pitch and competition brings out the best in everyone. we will then see if we've truly upgraded on personnel or not.

Antony is not. It is only in EPL that you will readily find clubs that have such money to spend on a single winger. Unfortunately, he is an EPL flop so EPL clubs don’t want him.

Clubs in continental Europe don’t have that kind of money outside Real, Bayern, PSG etc.

Garnacho is the one that could have gotten us 50m easily but he messed us up by declaring he wanted only Chelsea.

He does not suit this system and if someone is offering 100m for him we should take the money and reinvest in building a more complete team. That is what Liverpool did with the Coutinho money.

Those goals and assists stats from previous seasons don't move me because in this formation his job description is different. He is to protect the defence, keep possession, and help circulate the ball out of defence. The top CDMs/CMs in the world like Rodri/Caicedo/Rice/Pedri are not rated because of their G/A contributions.

The fact that we signed 2 prolific no 10s and a new CF for combined 200m plus and you are still saying our CM is our surest source of goals is a big problem already. Outside free kicks and penalties G/A should not be his primary focus AND judging him by G/A is a complete missing of the point.
