What do one input please in a situation where there is little difference in salary paid every month like 3k difference, how does one know what to input where the visa form asks how much one earns after tax. For example if salary one month is 296,400 and another month 300,800, it fluctuates based on deductions. Also, does a sponsor need to provide payslips or bank statements is enough? Thank you |

Cashmadam:Hi , For unemployed, how do I clean up mum’s account pls ? I will be paying a stipulated amount to her monthly and my dad sends her weekly allowance as well which sums up to 200k monthly. In the case of 200k monthly , should I put she earns 2.4 million monthly in the part asked how much she earns yearly. Also how much should I put that my mum wants to spend towards the trip ? Myself ahd husband will be fully sponsoring the trip ( how much is least to have in our account - we are submitting 3 months statement so what amount is best for opening balance ) How much should we also state she spends monthly ? Thanks in anticipation |

Cashmadam:Hello Madam , Please I need your help as I am almost in the same situation now. My mum is devasted and I feel like I have failed having applied for her twice and she was rejected. Please I need help with this 3rd one. She is a petty trader with non registered business so now , I feel it’s easier for her to apply as unemployed because the business is unverifiable through proper documentation. I am also thinking of applying with a new account while I deposit to her monthly allowances , my dad would also deposit there which will be declared in the cover letter . Me and my husband would be fully sponsoring . How much do you think is best for us have in our opening balance and subsequently shouldn’t go below that amount even after spendings on bills and the likes. All these are just my suggestions as to what might help as I don’t even know if I am right. Also if she is starting a fresh account with clean ups just including my monthly stipend , my dads allowance and her outflow of groceries , will she be asked where she kept the money in the previous application ( this is me just thinking out loud lol…May God not forsake us ) Please help me ma’am Ejooooor 🙏 |

Iamshy:So sorry about the previous refusals. I suggest you wait at least another year before you reapply. While waiting, start building her account - just as you have planned. Send her monthly allowance to the account. Same amount every month. Same day every month. Just like a salary. It would be good if your own account as the sponsor is also build up during the same period. You have have enough left apart from the money you will pledge to sponsor her. For example, if you say you will sponsor your mum with 1,500, Then you savings should be from 3,000, Anything less might be a problem. Apart from money, her home ties are extremely important. Your Dad can serve as home ties. What else do you think you can use to convinve the VO that she will return to Nigeria? Is she taking car of any parent or grandchild? Other siblings? Is she involved in any religious or charitable organizations? You need to think hard and put a well written cover letter together to support her application. Let us know if you need more information or advise. Good luck! |

HaneefahRN:To be safe, pick the lowest monthly salary reflecting on the payslips and statement you will provide. It is better to under estimate than over estimate. Your sponsor can provide payslips and bank statement. If payslips are not available for whatever reason, then bank statement should be okay. |

Cashmadam:Thank you so much cash madam. When looking at monthly expenditure part too, checking her 3 months statement she spends like 60k from the account but one month as low as 10k due to having money spent from other source apart from the salary, I wasn't sure if putting the average which will appear lower won't be an issue. Also is it better to fully sponsor or say she will be contributing a percent too? This is for a young person coming to write OSCE exams |

Cashmadam:Hello , Thanks so much for your response. Her current situation is she won’t be continuing with her petty business due to health issues. So how do I explain this in her cover letter of reapplication smoothly ? She has a land , proof of occupancy of my dad’s property where she currently stays , also my sibling back in Nigeria who is in school, letter from our mosque, and also letter of recommendation from a previous supplier of hers. She’s able to provide all of these . Then also , do you advise she uses a new account or the one she’s been using before. Let’s say I plan to give her 200k monthly , how much do you think is ideal for her start up balance to be assuming I want to submit her statement of 3 months. Thank you in anticipation. |

Good day everyone , For unemployed mum who receives a regular stipend of 150k from me and 50k from my dad monthly. The part on the application form that says how much is your annual income ; should I state it as 200k times 12 months which is 2.4 million naira or should it be written as N0 since she’s not in any employment just receives monthly allowances from me and my dad which is regular. PS: , these allowances would reflect on her statement of account. Also how much should I state she is willing to spend towards her trip….. For a two weeks trip I am the main sponsor sponsoring her with £2k- is this amount reasonable enough? Thank you all. |
