My bother had told a story a man that got hit down by a driver at Night in Lagos. The police happened to catch the man. They told the driver to pay them #500k for them to carry the man and throw him away in the lagoon because it was already very late night, the load was already deserted. The man was bargaining the price when the man recovered full consciousness, and the driver zoomed immediately, and the police also didn't wait, they took off. The man told the story himself.
Is that not an evil of the highest order?

I'm asking this question not because of yinka's fate in the image attached below but I have had an experience where the lady I invited over was rubbed while going back from my place. I use to ask myself those times "what if this girl died from this experience?" what would have happened to me?

So, after seeing this news by punch newspaper, it reminded me of my experience and I want to ask the best move to make in a case like yinka's.

FYI, there is nothing you can explain to Nigerian police that will make you go scot free.

If there were no signs of injury, nobody is arresting anybody immediately.

In Nigeria, not only would you be arrested, if you have co tenants they will be arrested immediately. If you don't part with serious money, you will be paraded and may even be remanded in prison. Even the autopsy, you will have to pay money for it to be done.

I have witnessed a Brought in dead of a child where the mum was crying profusely before. Though the mum was at fault for the child's death, no one did call any police to arrest her.

Do not tamper with the body in any way., the girl has family members, they will look for her. if you do that, you have worsen your situation

Tell your lawyer to get a doctor to do an autopsy as they move you to jail. be prepared to be accused of being a ritual killer and a kidnapper and be prepared to be on blogs, which will destroy your reputation, only after the police have done their investigation will they release you.

after you have been released, quickly go online and clear your name by giving interviews to known bloggers, if you have money buy spaces on newspapers to clear your name. if possible visit the girl family to also clear your name, move on with your life or change location.

It is not if you have lawyer. If you don't have Lawyer call one up and ask him to get to your apartment immediately. don't speak to police until lawyer is present.

I think the best thing is to plan ahead. That means buying a cheap CCTV camera and installing in your living room and bedroom. So when such issues come up, you have video evidence instantly that proves you're innocent and you won't even need anything else to get away with it.
