There's no way you watched that Arsenal game and came to the conclusion we did not create enough chances to score at least 2. Our xG was even higher than Arsenal. We had 22shots, 7 on target. Liverpool last night had 5 shots in total and scored 3 goals. That's what it means to be clinical. Expecting a team to create 5 or 6 big chances per game especially away from home is wishful thinking. The most you can expect per game is 2 and thats why you need to be clinical when you get your opportunity.
I am not downplaying the fact being clinical matters. Liverpool utilized their few yesterday, but we both know that's not the case for all matches. They definitely create more chances than most EPL teams

Okay, let me ask you. How many chances can you remember from the Fulham match that you should have converted? I am sure it's just two or three.

Infact, Bayandir was the only person that created a big chance in the whole of first half. Think about it.

Go and check how many chances Salah, Haaland, Richarlison, etc miss.

First solve the issue of creating chances, and you wouldn't have to wish if one entered or not.

He said he won’t cut his hair until Man U wins 5 games in a row.

He is on 323 days now, when will he realistically cut his hair? I don’t even think he ever will, lol.

Na that Bruno be their problem gan gan. Nothing hurts a team like a player that disorganizes press and also loses the ball which his weak body doesn’t help recover leading to opponents holding on to the ball for too long.

Once a player loses their press, the whole team turns their back on incoming runners while trying to track back.
He spends more time coordinating others, than actually doing his own job.

I know taking penalties are hard, but his miss looks intentional.

If you check, Bruno usually goes for placement rather than power when taking penalties.

The Ref Barged into him prior to taking the penalty and he was visibly pissed.

I remember Emiliano Martinez getting under Bruno's skin with his infamous penalty theatrics a couple of years ago. Our visibly pissed captain skied the P.K in similar fashion.

Traits like these, coupled with the constant moaning and whining, further attest to his mental frailties/poor leadership abilities...nothing else!

Firstly, those Liverpool and Newcastle youngsters are going into a situation where the system is working, and they are also dealing with far less scrutiny and pressure. Drop them into this our failing situation with all the pressure that comes with it, and things might turn out differently with them.

Secondly, Mainoo and Lewis Miley made the senior teams of their clubs around the same time 2 years ago. Mainoo has 3.3m followers on Instagram alone, Miley has less than 200k followers. Even Amass and Heaven that have barely played games for us have far more followers than Miley.

This is only one instance of the scrutiny that our youth players face compared to other clubs. It is also very crucial to note that we do not have an established working system like those other clubs.

In addition, we have a very well documented recent history of poor results when throwing academy players into chaotic situations hoping they will miraculously solve the problem. A system that is so faulty that quality pros like Mbeumo, Cunha, Amad and co are firing blanks is not the best to throw an unprepared youngster into, in hope, unless he is a potential generational talent like Greenwood, Dowman etc.

Finally, you can't just make blank statements like play the youth players, as if being a youth player automatically endows a player with some innate quality and footballing ability above the senior players. You should specify the youth players that you think are good enough and should be getting minutes now.
Ur very correct especially in the area of "failing situation" but you will be suprise some of these youth will rise above it. Obi, kone comes to mind. kobbie was coping well if not for injury. Digressing l know man utd will beat our next opponent silly and the stupid assumption things are going to get better will start. lt won't unless Amorim start changing his rigid ways and management style
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by engrelvis(m): 10:20am On Aug 26, 2025
I won't mind if Ole is brought back. Current set of players will suit his style of play. Conte doesn't stay long in club. He behaves like a mercenary .

He's actually right. The more chances you create, the higher the probability of converting them.

You are not creating anything. Only 2 Big chances against Fulham. Zero, against Arsenal.

Being clinical matters. But there's more reality in converting 2 out of 10, than 2 out of 2.
Some people need less than 1 big chance to score. Ekitike’s goal and Gravenberxh’s against Newcastle came out of nothing. We should actually pressure the attack to score more goals. That’s their bread and butter.

Bruno’s emotional tantrums means he’s not fit to be captain. Sometimes he does the team a disservice by moaning, faking fouls, and generally being weak.

I can feel the morale of players like Mbeumo, Sesko and co viably drop after seeing these behaviors.

And the way he tries to dictate play every time is annoying. Amad doesn’t take defenders on like he used to anymore. He’s gradually becoming a chronic back passer. That weak mentality from Bruno has infected him.

Obi is still 17. No way was he ready for regular minutes last season as a CF. It was the utter uselessness of Rasmus that made that even a possibility. Don’t you see that we struggle to create quality chances for our central forward? Against Fulham I am not sure Sesko touched the ball in the opposition 18yd box once in nearly 40 mins.

Name the 17yr old CFs that you know that were getting regular minutes in a big club this century.

Kone has potential but he definitely was not ready last season. This season he was looking a bit stronger but he then got injured.

Mainoo’s case is different. He can’t be called an academy player anymore. He is a senior player whose best position is the same as the team captain that can never be subbed out of the game.

I think he was given the arm band because he appears to be the most passionate player in the team. Maturity wise, he is actually one of the least.

At a point, Maguire was captain but the uncertainty of his place in the starting 11 didnt help his cause.

As for Amad, I really wouldnt judge because Amorim has decided to play him out of position. I wouldnt be surprised if the lad is playing to the manager's instructions. If Amad regresses, it would be difficult not to pin it on him playing as a WB

Tbh, it appears most of the players are not enjoying themselves. I guess Amorim loads them with so much information / details and literally expects robotic/programmed displays.

Shocking how he made a big issue out of a very small matter. Like he was genuinely angry that the ref mistakenly bumped into him. Nawao!!

If Mainoo is competing with Bruno, why wasn’t Bruno hauled off for Mainoo when he was playing rubbish? Amorim is doing man know man, and that’s what will ruin him in the end

You didn’t see where I said Bruno can never be subbed off? Lol.

The same issue with Ole, ETH, and now Amorim. There must be a clause his contract. Hehehe.

Me I don expect this problem for Mainoo right from when Amorim arrived, that is why I am relaxed. If Bruno and Amorim remain here longterm, Mainoo will most likely have to leave. It is what it is.

If Mainoo leaves the club because of Amorim, The whole of Manchester will not size us.

Hahaha.

You can’t play them together as CMs in a 3-4-3.

You have 2 brand new expensive no 10s that have to play so you can’t play them there.

You can’t play them as false 9s because you have a brand new CF.

We are playing only 1 game a week this season cos we are not in Europe.

It is one or the other, and one is the team captain that practically never gets subbed off.

It doesn’t make sense for Amorim to say Mainoo is competing with Bruno and then refuse to sub Brino when he’s having a stinker.

Any coach that will succeed at Man Utd must avoid favoritism. Ole and ETH did it with Bruno and other players. It didn’t end well for them. It won’t end well for Amorim either.

Them never accept the Al Ittihad bid for Bruno yet?

If they want to sack Amorim they should sack him now before the season becomes a write off.

Of course

But you can not tell me the plan is to hope on Ekitike to score out of nothing, every damn time.

The attack needs to be fed. Prime Barca and Madrid will win a match by 4 goals, but highlights go reach 30.

The more chances created, the higher the probability for scoring.

If prime Barca or Madrid had the chances we had against Arsenal, they would’ve scored at least 2-3 goals. In the Fulham game, same.
