It happens every time. That said, you need to upgrade yourself too. I am talking from personal experience and that of many people I know.
I came from a humble (not really poor) background. I studied at two federal universities in Nigeria, even worked in Nigeria for some time. My big leap came after I got a funding to do a Ph.D. in the US. From that moment, my social standing improved. I got married to a lady from a "rich" background, with double Ivy-league degrees, who is also a professional.

This would never had happened if I was comfortable with my previous state in Nigeria. My story is not unique. I have seen many similar stories to mine.

By the way, I have never made marry into a rich family a priority of mine. I would not advise anyone to do so. Just focus on upgrading yourself.

People of the same social status naturally gravitate towards each other.

And more often than not, it's easier for a guy from a rich home to marry a lady from a poor home. You rarely see the opposite happen.

However make i no lie you, except the guy marries a lady from a very good i mean morally good rich family, I wont advice any one to go that route.
Some rich family are so useless and full of useless ego, they will indirectly frustrate the life of that guy that he will regret ever marrying into that family.

I have seen such. As in many cases.

Anyways, I would rather prefer that two young couples both from poor or humble background start humble and build their way up.
To me that is more satisfying.

I did not marry from a wealthy home, but the both parents are senior citizens....up till date, they still look at me as if I'm a gold digger. They have all the connections for only themselves....but I don't care, I still dey ball in my own way.

Wealth is not hereditary. It can vanish in one generation and be created in another. Anyone can build wealth with discipline and vision, so never marry wealth, so marry values, character, and love.

Very slim chance unless na the girl like you truly and is ready to fight the battles with you. Secondly you must have something very unique to offer, not just knacks.

When they say an average guy marrying into a super rich family… it doesn’t even mean the guy is poor… the guy is probably doing very well, maybe even a top level career in big corporations or running his own business and making money, then marrying into a wealthy family.
But to think an okada man or someone hawking donuts in the street or selling okrika clothes will just marry into a very wealthy family?

It can happen through online dating....when I was younger, I was fortunate to meet some via NYSC, through online and via my online blogging about relationships (on a foreign platform though), it was mostly foreign ladies.....it was only in my NYSC that I met a Naija girl from a rich family but fear no gree me accept starting a relationship with her like she wanted lol.

As for the foreign ladies I met via the internet through blogging, etc I was so insecure and scared of even committing to a relationship with them back then cos I was so broke and scared of the future lol.


When I look back at those days, I just smile and give God the glory




So poor smart guys with other quality things to offer can meet ladies from rich family background through the internet (not on dating Apps though, but on forums, and niche-based sites).

He might get picked up by a white billionaire like Jeremy Meeks, a felon that his mugshot went viral in USA as a sexy man. Before we knew, the white heiress from the billionaire family was hellbent against the wishes of her family and he married the felony! I don’t know if they are still together though. Even in America, the chance is a miracle. The uppity or crème de la crème does not want someone with agony or grimace closer to them.

alot of factors could make rich parents not to allow their children to marry someone from a poor home....Takes alot to become rich to allow someone to drag your child back into it...


Poor people dont have their real attitudes until they have wealth..
