Please is this something I should overlook? She does not eat any food if chewable stuff are not in the food...beef, chicken, fish etc. I mean she is so obsessive with chewable stuff and it's becoming very annoying to me.

Although I never caught her red-handed but I suspect sometimes after cooking, she does go back to pick meat from the pot. I'm suspecting this because almost always, meat always finish from the pot while the soup is still plenty.

Whether we are moving within town or traveling, she always want to buy any meaty stuff sold by the road...snail, pork, chicken and just anything meaty to chew.

Last night, when we returned home from work, surprisingly the stew that was in the freezer, there was no meat in it and so she refused to eat the food.

She always talk about how she can buy like like 5-10 chicken at once, stock them in the freezer and finish it in no time. She has said the same thing about goat too. How I should buy a full goat, slaughter and butcher and stock them in the freezer so she can eat as much as she want.

Should I also add that she eats a lot. In fact, as a man, I don't eat half of what she eats. She can eat even up to 5 times in a day or more, and always with plenty of meat.

Is this something I should overlook? Because I don't want someone to come and over stress me tomorrow. Life is already stressing me, not to talk of going into marriage with such behaviour that someone would now put it on me to be killing 5 chickens and 1 goat every week for home use.

I once visited someone in a hospital. I met a woman on admission in the same ward as the person I visited. She was admitted on some severe health complications. I understand the primary cause to her ailments was too much red meat which the doctor then advised her to cut off drastically or face further deterioration health wise.

This woman was so "addicted" to meat that she was still sneaking large chunks of meat despite being on her hospital bed and hardly able to walk.

I heard the doctors complaining about her attitude and habits when I was in the ward.

The person I visited in the ward said he had never seen anyone eat so much quantity of meat.


In my mind even if she(your girlfriend) or you can afford and fund her craving and eating habits she must cut back on the amount of meat she is eating to avoid health related issues.

She was probably brought up that way or picked up the nasty attitude all by herself and you have to find out which is which before you reck yourself finally if eventually you both get married.

Her background has to be very comfortable if she was brought up that way at home because I know very well no average Nigerian family will ever tolerate that from their children and if she happens to come from the pako background with this attitude then there's serious trouble and a big red flag for later days...

If her genotype is AA and her blood group is O+, and she can eat without meat when there is no money, then you have nothing to worry about!

Another relationship with a very obvious red flag as big as a curtain but the balls in-between your legs won't let you to see that......

So what will happen to the relationship if you should fail to provide any proteinous stuff for her,she go just abandon you like ASAP...

Nothing wrong with her decision not to eat food without meat.
Infact excluding vegetarians that avoids meats mostly due to health reasons. ..
Why would someone not eat food with meat if not for poor economy and proverty mentality it a good source of protein.

As you'll notice, a single plate of food has more animal protein than almost a week of Nigerian food. Same with Asian countries (though they add a lot of sides like rice and vegetables) and Europeans.

That's why they're taller and fitter, on average, than most Nigerians.

What does that mean?

Well, sit your girlfriend down and tell her "see, I'm poor, so are you. And I can't afford you to be eating like am American. So either you start making money and contribute towards food that you like or we break up".

A country of Poverty decided that since food wasn't readily cheap and available, eating like a regular person meant you have bad character. If you had money or lived abroad, 2 small pieces of meat in rice and stew daily won't be a big deal.

(For real, it's not any nonsense growth hormone making kids blow up once they travel. They're eating more meat. It's why the Chinese in Nigeria are the same height as we are: it's the poor ones coming here to hustle. Nigeria has multi-dimensional poverty).

And for those wondering about the health implications, heavy consumption of meat becomes a big deal only as you get older or overweight and start worrying about high cholesterol and clogged arteries.

Asians tend to have higher levels of Stomach Cancer due to their excess amount of salt intake (most of their foods are preserved and cooked in heavy amounts of salt e.g Korean kimchi).

So it's not the 2 small pieces of meat and 1 scrawny chicken leg that we eat here, maybe 3 times a week, that will cause any of that. Heck, how many of you eat egg daily??

Nigerians eat a lot of carbohydrates to cover the fact that they're not eating enough protein or vegetables or even fruit (for example, apparently Banana is now more expensive than plantains ). Which is why we can be short and fat here, with round stomach.

Eating like the way we do is why the average Nigerian height is 5"8.

That little piece of meat or fish that she eats is the only way she would get protein and it's more essential than all the carbs that you feed her with.
