Soltech1000:Yes the course has been suspended for this session(FALL 2025) Have been given option to defer to JAN 2026 or Choose another course But the probability that I will get the LOA before when my flight will take off is the issue If not I might have to forfeit my flight payment I never saw this coming at all |

Okonkwobestman1:Even though my agent said,I might encounter issue with the officer since my Programme has been withdrawn I believe it’s better to take the risk of going than staying behind to loss my flight ticket But if am denied entry won’t this have any effect on my visa or study permit if am to return for another intake in JAN 2026 ? |

Please can someone direct me on how to apply for medical in Benin City center |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Okonkwobestman1: 10:02am On Aug 27, 2025 |
mcsugk:I do not see the benin centre listed as an authorized IRCC medical centre. You may have to choose either Q-Life or IOM to be on the safe side. https://secure.cic.gc.ca/PanelPhysicianMedecinDesigne/en/Home |

OAOD:I do not forsee any issue with going for a program few months before its commencement. The other thing you might want to do is to at least review other available program options in the school and email them for your new choice of program. With that, you have an evidence to present at the border (IF YOU ARE ASKED). They might even issue you a study permit if you present the current admisison letter without having to call school. I'll advise that you stick to answering what they ask for rather than suggesting to them (border officers). If they issue study permit for the duration of current program and you decide to start schoool at the next intake, it's also okay as your study permit can be extended inside canada easier than you think and as required. If you choose to wait for the new program availability in Winter 2026 (which more often than not, is not guaranteed as program availability depends on potential students' interests, etc, ), then you can also start the converation now via email and advise the school of your choice. Again , you have proof for border officers. Personally, I wounldn't risk wasting the flight ticket as I know some students arrive months before their program commencement. It will also enable you to settle, acclimatise properly with the local conditions, search for jobs/work with the available study permit, if possible, while you wait for commencement of your program. Other students in the area go still reason you what's up too. If you choose to wait in Naij for winter, maybe check with the flight agents/website for their policy. Maybe there might be options to change your flight ticket for a later date with a little penalty/fee. my 2 cents sha. |

Hello All, My wife and I submitted our application for a study permit and OWP respectively in May. She completed her biometrics in the last week of May and I did mine first week of June. Since then, we haven’t received any updates from IRCC. Please , is anyone else experiencing the same delay? Her school resumes on the 8th of Sept and we already paid one year tuition fees. |

I have also done that.. Nothing yet, too bad the school doesn't defer admission and their refund policy isn't favorable. Okonkwobestman1: |

This Canadian Immigration Pilot Program remains a fast track to permanent residence (PR), but very few international students in Canada know about it. IBILEmayweather:Call the help center. The process has been outlined already. Apply for her gcms notes if you haven’t already. I suspect the processing center is RROC as they are known for being slow with study permits. |

Hello All, Medical passed on the 28th of August, 2025. But I got a request email yesterday to submit a confirmation of tuition deposit, but the thing is that I have a professor's funding, so I am not required to pay any deposit until I begin my program. I have registered my courses, and I have PAL—all these without a deposit, if that counts. Now IRCC is requesting a confirmation of the tuition deposit, and they gave me a deadline. Please, anybody in the house that can give me advice on the way forward, I would really appreciate it. |

What was the reason for the refusal? a medical request or medical examination pass does not guarantee study permit approval. kayceeskay: |

Does mpower Loan still work ? I’m in a group and people are saying Canada does not accept mpower loan anymore , how true is that cos I’m planing on using them for my tuition |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by kayceeskay(m): 2:20pm On Aug 30, 2025 |
JMG12:That is exactly my point People always assume that when they request medicals means they are done with proof of funds and other eligibility checks and that it means you’re about to be approved The refusal was for proof of funds So this debunks that myth. |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by bullstriker: 9:25pm On Aug 30, 2025 |
Request a letter from the school, addressed to IRCC, stating that they guarantee the funds for your tuition fee, have applied your tuition deposit to your scholarship, and as a result, you are not required to pay the tuition fee. Additionally, the letter should confirm that you have already registered for courses, providing proof. The letter should also clearly state what the scholarship covers, how much will be provided per period, and when it will be disbursed. Having said that, the best option is to make the payment and provide the receipt to avoid any issues that may arise. You can always request a refund when you arrive in Canada MsLavender: |

OAOD:speaking from experience, it is not wise to come now when your studies will commence next semester, you cannot work till school starts, you will only come here and be spending unnecessarily.be smart |

, either there are not too many people waiting or we just may have learnt the waiting game of IRCC. They really taught some of us "patience".
