It was 100% Berrada’s choice and he pulled shot gun on Ashworth to get his way, Ashworth pushed for Eddie Howe, Thomas Frank and Southgate as 3rd choice.
Berrada wanted Amorim because there was talk of Amorim maybe taking over at City from Pep due to Viana leaving Sporting Lisbon to become Sporting Director at City. Ashworth pushed against Amorim due to being a poor tactical fit for our squad and his known stubbornness in his system but the upper management went with Berrada over Ashworth

At this point, Man U needs to get on an interim basis an experienced coach who can steady the ship, win the dressing room, work with the available players and has a track record of getting results. Someone in the mould of Guus Hiddink, Carlo Ancelloti, Jupp Heynckes

Bruno came in yesterday and was misplacing simple passes. Zirkzee was one of our best players when he came on. That ability to hold the ball under pressure and pick the right pass.

Lol. This your assertion is funny. The way the team is set up determines how it will perform. Imagine starting with 5 defenders, keeping a 2-man midfield and having 2 out of the 3 attacking players mostly on the wings, what the eff was that? How are you going to control/determine/dominate play and create chances with that?

If Amorim had gone with a standard 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 formation and/or allowed the players to express themselves against the 4th division team, the outcome would have been completely different.

Tbh, Carlo won’t be easy to poach right now unless we want to spend big and give him a 3 year contract, which is a gamble given what has been happening over the years. Unfortunately, there is none that fits the criteria.

I would go with Luciano Spalletti who I believe will be very happy to take the role on an interim basis. He is quite matured and tactically astute. Although he also prefers 3 at the back but he’s quite flexible, vs Amorim.

The only memory I have of Spalleti is that he was Roma's manager when we crushed them 7-1 in the 2006 or 07 CL...loool

I checked his record and saw that he won scudetto with Napoli not too long ago.

Another Mercenary "interim" manager that might fit would probably be Mancini due to his PL experience and his exploits with the Italian NT.

However, e be like say na complete package - he would most likely bring the type of drama and controversy that the club could do without..especially at these critical moments.
