Just hear him You paid hundreds of thousands to secure a passport for your 12 year old girl is why you jacked the cost up to 200,000 and you still say the era of paying hundreds of thousands is over And he even says Nigeria will be happy with a 100% price increase |

Corruption talking confidently with gusto. Imagine the comparison done between the cost of nations passport and the corresponding cost of living in such country - how shameful, disgraceful and embarrassing Nigeria's case is. Yet this shameless govt is still defending nonsense |

Kukutente23:This is an average govt official under this wicked government. They are void of conscience. @Bolded, it is simply because they know the average Nigerian population is a docile one. Hence the continual insult of the sanity, sensibility and intelligence of sane Nigerians. |

Every avenue is an opportunity for these tax masters to squeeze the little out of Nigerians. Passport that every citizen should posses is priced 30k and 130k above the national minimum wage. |

When I was telling Tinubu supporters in 2023 that you guys don't know the damage you've just done to Nigeria by making Tinubu president, they thought I was being political, you made an insane heartless human being your president because of tribal, religious or political affiliation just to hate on a certain people thinking you were doing them |

Bola Tinubu didn't perform any magic in Lagos. He simply imposed all manner of stupendous taxes, increments and levies on Lagosians, then boasted about increasing internally generated revenue. It's the same horrendous template he's using to neck-press Nigerians today . |

Its only a testament of the inflation we have been talking about. If within a year there is an enormous increase of over 150% one can estimate the price it will be in the next 2-4 years. Everything about this country keep falling apart. The other day it’s custom and today immigration. These agencies are not supposed to be a revenue generating companies or organizations for the government. We started destroying the economy when we start making government agencies a revenue generating streams. There are other ways government funds their agencies. We should learn from other prosperous countries. |

All our senators and house of representative members don't care because it doesn't affect them. After all we never hold them accountable for anything. The primary thinking behind this is that if you are applying for passport, it means you have money and you want to Japa. A very poor mentality. Anybody earning 100k or less cannot own a passport unless someone assists them or they have little to no financial obligations in terms of rent, feeding and transportation to work. |

You removed human factors and fastened the process. What reason was given for the previous increase? So now, even minus bribery/ sorting, we now pay far more than it used to be even with the sorting. Atleast, when it was 35k, 50-70k would get you Express service. Tech should ultimately help us save cost, time and energy...not over 100% increase in cost. The differential is toooooo much. |

By the time Tinubu finish with this country. Many will not be able to even feed. The funniest thing is that some will still come out to vote him again. |

Defend what exactly? Do they think Nigerians are foolish? This is nothing short of robbing Peter to pay Paul. Increasing passport fees only makes it harder for ordinary citizens to access their own documents, while those in power and their families enjoy free diplomatic passports. This government is fast becoming a true tax master. May God deliver us from the Egyptians of our time. |

The day Nigeriansnvoted these bunch of progressive in APC was the day they voted hardship and suffering. Tinubu's government is a pure capitalist government, dont expect anything free or even cheap, they are out to generate revenue from you even if its to the point of death, they simply dont care. Passport prices that was reviewed last year, less than a year later, they are demanding more. |

SonOfWords:If failed government services and utilities were overshadowed by propaganda lies in Lagos for 26 years, why won’t it work for 200 million Nigerians? Why change a winning strategy that got Jonathan out of Aso Rock with plenty of fake promises? Buhari’ll reduce petrol to N40/L —David-WestPetrol should never cost more than N70 per litre, says APC January 19, 2015 The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described as mere tokenism the reduction of petrol price from N97 to N87 per litre, saying the petroleum product ordinarily should sell for N70. On Sunday, the federal government announced the reduction of petrol price, citing the fall of global crude oil price. But the APC through Lai Mohammed, its spokesman, on Monday accused the government of making a show out of deceit, saying “a 10.3 per cent slash in the price of petrol was a mere tokenism at a time the price of crude oil has crashed by about 60 per cent”. It argued that the pump price of a litre of petrol should not be more than 70 Naira, alleging that at N87 per litre, the government was forcing Nigerians to subsidise the massive corruption in the oil sector by N17 for every litre of fuel. https://www.thecable.ng/petrol-never-cost-n70-per-litre-says-apc/ |

Even with the 100% review, you won't still get it at 100k or 200k as they claim. I got the 10yrs own in 2022 (3yrs ago) for 90k, same thing they claim was 70k as at August 2024 |
