Just hear him
You paid hundreds of thousands to secure a passport for your 12 year old girl is why you jacked the cost up to 200,000 and you still say the era of paying hundreds of thousands is over

And he even says Nigeria will be happy with a 100% price increase
Yeah..... Nigerians like hearing low or cheap official prices that will force them to pay thousands as bribe rather than pay the higher open market price and get it easily. At the end we pay more through bribe.

Today I prefer driving to the filling stations and buy expensive fuel easily than to spend hours on fuel queues and sometimes buy expensive adulterated fuel from black market. All that I need is to plan my movements to reduce cost and forget big man mentality and use public transport in some cases.

You sound like someone who enjoys suffering and smiling
Why will you prefer to buy expensive fuel in exchange for availability
What guarantee do you have that the expensive fuel you buy now is not adulterated?
Nigerians are like every orne people. No one likes to pay through the nose for common goods and services be it Nigerians, Africans or Europeans after all, Trump campaigned on bringing down the cost of goods in the US
At the end, choosing high prices as a compensation for corruption sounds like you're blaming yourself for the inefficiency and corruption in the system

From me
So that I can invest my time in productive venture and save my health. Most times we bribed the attendants. Back then fuel station managers and attendants were like kings. Now they sit idle waiting for us.

From you

From me
I'm buying direct from the filling station and not black market hawkers. If anything go wrong I'll hold the station.

You mean you prefer to spend all your hard earned money on fuel than to wait in a queue for cheaper fuel? I don't see how you're better off. You need money to take care of your health. When you spend everything on fuel and go through the hassle of public transport, it takes a toll on your health as well

There's no guarantee that filling stations are not selling adulterated fuel. And it will be hard to hold the filling station accountable except you can prove you buy fuel from them alone

Ur desperation to leave Nigeria should never entertain any form of delay from passport.
So, if u can afford to pay 10million to secure visa, is it 100m that u won't pay?
Put sentiment aside...100k is not much compared to any country in d world.
An American passport costs over $140.
So make ur comparison...
And what is their minimum wage compared to ours?

That's the problem with you guys, you all think people who complain about Tinubu's bad governance are poor, no, I don't know what you people want a country for but for me this is not the type of country I want for myself or people who share the same country with me, I mean look at the way country is today, can you beat your chest and say you are proud of the way the country is today?

Benue alone has over 500 thousand people in IDP camps that's about 10% of their population, is it inflation? is out of school children? is it insecurity, killings kidnappings and so on all over the country?

what exactly do you people want a country for?

This is not the type of country I want, I want a country that works for everybody regardless of tribe or religion...

One thing I have noticed you people are good at is how to live in self deceit...
I love this. Your wisdom is unique. You quoted a daftttt person by the way.

The increase comes barely a year after the Federal Government approved an earlier adjustment in August 2024, which raised the 32-page, five-year booklet from N35,000 to N50,000, and the 64-page, 10-year booklet from N70,000 to N100,000.

At the time, the NIS said the hike was necessary to sustain the quality of the passport and improve service delivery.
The second time tinubu has increased the price of passport by over a 100℅.

If increasing the price of passport the first time was to "to sustain he quality of the passport and improve service delivery", did the first increase not a niece the goal?

If it didnt, what is the guarantee that this new increase will achieve that goal?

If it did, why further increase with the same reason as the first?

If corruption is the issue with the pro ESS, why can the minister not identify the erring officers and punish them?

Why should citizens have to pay for government corruption?

Brendaniel:
Look if you guys supported Buhari for 8 years including Tinubu, why should I take whatever you say seriously?

200k for a passport that doesn't have any value out there.

If you see the way they treated me when I got to ordinary South Africa, they searched all Nigerians like we were Thieves and detained us for hours asking us various questions.

Na only verification I dey use the passport do now
.

I went for a program at Gambia, Gambia ooo of all country in West Africa and we were searched like an armed robber, marched into another private room at d airport and our luggages were turned inside out. I couldn't bear d embarrassment I deport myself back right at d airport. One of d official said:" like president, like citizen" and I wept. I swear APC is a curse to Nigerians.
