https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYSzmuGe7HA?si=BBm5tkgaBc_PR9BV In this video, we bring you fresh updates on Section 1 of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, highlighting the massive shoreline protection, retaining walls, and slope stabilization works currently ongoing. At around Kilometer 15, you’ll see how engineers are battling the Atlantic Ocean with rock reinforcements and erosion control systems to protect the new highway from flooding and coastal damage. We also take you to the first sign of commercial activity along the corridor — the first business enterprise already under construction, signaling future investment opportunities this project will unlock. From there, we drive further down past Kilometer 20, where pavement construction initially stopped at the commissioning of the first 30km. Now, that section has been sand-filled, compacted, and linked with the rest of the expressway heading towards Sangotedo, showing clear progress. The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is more than just a road; it’s a lifeline for trade, tourism, and economic growth along Nigeria’s coastline. Join us as we document every milestone.

AnonPoet:only foolish and bitter soul will criticize the outstanding project just because he didn't pass through their landlock area. I haven't seen a south south leaders from either political, religion, traditional institution and even the masses criticizing it but our brothers across the niger has been the ones. How can you cry more than the bereaved. The only consign raised by the governors and the late Edwin Clark was to also start from the calabar end too and the president not only started from calabar end but added Akwa ibom end too. Meanwhile the tribal and religious bigot obi who can't point to any legacy project as governor due to pains of Tinubu getting more support from south south because of the road project and others he has been fixing which obi knows will gradually reduce drastically and depreciate his votes in 2027 resulted to criticizing it. What a people. Jonathan rumored contesting again, has exposed the deep hatred they have for anyone or region against thier interest. By God's grace, we shall know who rule the game now between south south and south east. |

The question is whether it will extend beyond Lagos's boundaries. Until it reaches Ogun, Ondo, and Delta, many Nigerians will not believe Tinubu. |

lol when nature wants to do her things humans "protection" is useless.Best you let nature be. As for the road, it'll take 50-100 years to be completed as far as Nigeria is concerned. If you've ever traveled by the road from Lagos to Calabar you'll understand what I'm talking about... If you've not, you won't understand the distance in reality. Tinubu can't complete it, whoever is coming next won't bother with continuity. If Tinubu is serious, let construction starts in every state the road will connect, that's the only way this can be completed within 5-10 years. |

There are so many Federal roads that needs attention. If the present administration wants to satisfy their supporters in the SW, there are several FG roads in the SW that needs attention. I would rather prefer that all the FG roads in the SW are completed than using virtually all the money for one road and still have virtually all the roads uncompleted. Every year we keep reading about the Lagos-Ibadan express way, Lagos-Ore road and so many others. Why not complete these ones first before embarking on new ones. The funny thing is that this road may not be completed within eight years and we are not even sure if the next administration will be concerned to complete the road. |

diabeticdeals:It was the observation by the so called clowns that the road was failing due to lack of shoreline protection that prompted the contractor to address the issue, criticism can be constructive if it improves outcomes, intelligent and well meaning people critic an activity to acknowledge that you re making impact and to correct observed flaws. No intelligence is needed to call people clowns, brainless people do it all the time to project their brainlessness on others and they fail miserably all the time. |

But lets ask, why are they even building this? Thier citizens don't have food to eat, houses to live in, running water, security, and other basic amenities. What then is the use of this coastal highway? |

In great countries of the world they consider so many things before embarking on any project. How many businesses will be affected, any alternative routes, economic benefits, costs, the viability, the importance etc but in a country like Nigeria the factors that are being considered are the powerful nature of the contractors, the benefits to some powerful people, the corruption benefits and less consideration to destroying properties and investments . God Bless the influential contractors God Bless the Minister and EFCC God Bless the powerful people behind the road. |

They go siphon money tire for useless white elephant project that solves nothing really, what's the use of this road, when other federal roads have been in a sorry state for years, why not use this money to rehabilate all major roads and some smaller ones. |

kedeojo:You cam think whatever you like But so far No one says coastal road is not good But the truth remains We dont need it now, these is a project that will last more than 2 decades .. lets even assume the project is protected and cannot be stopped by other govt Nigeria have so much pressing issues, that funds put into the coastal road could have been awaken Agriculture .. Make it a potential that generates revenue n export, we have tew many resources to be broke We are tew blessed with resources ro be chasing palmpay n opay for loans... Govt are just lazy minded, unserious |

AnonPoet:Blah blah blah, the government should just diligently construct the road without all the fuss here and there on it... It's a great project, though it's no big deal as we still have a long way to go as a country. The coastal highway is such we should have had as a country years back to show we're still behind in developments. In a nutshell, we're still behind in solid-basic infrastructural facilities. Great job on the initiative, but it's no big deal, as we are still a shadow of what we are suppose to be as a country. |

kedeojo:You can applaud it from that end, from this Calabar end where it terminates, we will applaud it when we see it. That road says Lagos-calabar coastal road, 3 or 4months back, Umahi flagged off sections 3 and 4 of the project, section 3 is at Akwaibom, while section 4 is at Cross river, till today, none of those sections have commence work. They just hurriedly graded few meters just for pomp n pageantry... You see in My land, Ibibio, we don't hide lying elders.. |
