Tragedy as Woman Dies After Discovering Husband’s Alleged Affair With Female ‘Groomsman’

A Nigerian woman, Doosuur Henrietta Agbatar, has reportedly died after months of enduring emotional abuse, betrayal, and health complications linked to her troubled marriage.

According to a detailed account shared on Facebook by Shamimi Anase, Doosuur developed high blood pressure after discovering that her husband, Sefa Awen, was allegedly having an affair with Loveth Orva, a married woman who controversially served as one of his “groomsmen” during their wedding. Troubled Marriage and Betrayal

The post alleged that from the early days of their marriage, Doosuur faced emotional, financial, and physical abuse. Sefa reportedly:

Took control of her mother’s Toyota Highlander SUV, sold it, and bought a Toyota Camry in his own name.

Allegedly pressured her into granting him a ₦4 million loan from her family’s NGO, which he partly used to buy land.

Forced her to establish a laundry business in his name while demanding she resign as the NGO’s Executive Director.

Despite her sacrifices, Doosuur reportedly endured humiliation as Sefa openly flaunted his relationships with other women, including Loveth, who had previously been romantically linked with his brother.
The Fatal Night

On July 31, 2025, Doosuur fell critically ill, complaining of chest pains and shortness of breath. Instead of rushing her to the hospital, her husband allegedly took her home. By 7:40 pm, her lifeless body was presented at the hospital. Doctors confirmed she had died before arrival.

Shamimi’s account raised questions about what transpired in the hour she was alone in Sefa’s care.
Diary and Evidence of Abuse

Friends claimed that Doosuur had kept a diary and screenshots of WhatsApp chats exposing Sefa’s affair with Loveth. In these chats, the pair allegedly shared explicit messages, further worsening Doosuur’s heartbreak.

It was also alleged that she had planned to leave the marriage and further her studies abroad, but she died just as funds for her relocation were about to be available.
Family Reactions and Outrage

Friends of the deceased accused the Awen family of trying to cover up the abuse. They also condemned Pastor Awen, Sefa’s relative, for allegedly ignoring the red flags and shifting blame to others.

They insisted that Doosuur’s memory must be protected and vowed to continue sharing evidence of the abuse she suffered.

“They cannot bury both her body and the truth. We, her friends, will not be silenced,” the post read.
