I am not sure that Costa is as good as he is being made to look. PSG, Barcelona, Man Utd, Chelsea and Liverpool have replaced or made moves to replace their starting goalie and none have looked his way...There must be something about him, either his abilities or his attitude...

He wanted to play goal kick in a match, I'm not sure if it was Newcastle or so. The kick hit the back of a Newcastle player then slowly into the net.

DDG was the best in his days but when the law of diminishing returns set in, there's nothing he could do.

If a player plays well against a top team, it is only normal to see fans singing praises of the player and calling for his signing. That is not unusual; it's down to the heat of the moment, and that's what happened with Onana...

When the summer transfer window opened, the opinion of everyone here about the replacement of De Gea at that point is well documented here. Some of us were not against his replacement, but we thought he was not the major problem of the team at the time, and it was not good business to spend scarce resources to replace him when they could have been spent to address other areas of the team where we needed reinforcement.

The way things turned out proved that those who preferred that we fix our attack, midfield and defence first before replacing De Gea were spot on...

Like any sane person would chase 2013 - 2017 level DDG out of their club. The guy stopped being a top GK and his fanboys are choosing to believe non of what they hear and only half of what they see

One of the reasons we have remained like this is this misguided loyalty to players for what they have done IN THE PAST.

No top club would have kept DDG beyond 2020 but we are the club that gave Phil Jones an extension from hospital bed so I am not surprised.

Another player is Martial. For a CF he's 29 and supposed to still be in his prime but a year later and AEK have just shipped him off to Mexico. Didn't finish his loan spell at Sevilla either before they bundled him back. Yet he spent 9 years at United with all sorts of excuses coming up in his defence every week.
The fanbase have an undying love for average players or players past their prime
