Nigerians Have Been Hungry Since 1960, You Can't Judge Us By That - FG by Racoon(op): 11:11pm On Sep 17, 2025
"Nigerians Have Been Hungry Since 1960, You Can't Judge Us By That" - Tinubu Presidency To Critics:
On Monday, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, expressed concern over the level of hunger among Nigerians. Daniel Bwala, the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on policy communication has claimed that the ongoing hardship is not unique to the present administration and should not be used as a "political weapon" against the government.

Bwala was reacting to comments by Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice-President, during his appearance on TVC, adding that Nigerians had been hungry since independence in 1960.

"The most fundamental thing is the issue he (Atiku) has raised. Does he have a valid point? He does not because the data suggests otherwise,” Bwala said.

"What do you expect them to do other than to try their best to see how they can demarcate the government in order to create the buzz around what they do,” he added. “He said we are creating hunger. Is he blinded or doesn’t he hear the fact of the progress we’ve made? For example, we have increased foreign reserves.

“Our net export has increased. We have less dependency on imports. We have created a structure that has stabilised the economy.

“He won’t talk about that. He won’t talk about the Caesarean Session we provided in all the hospitals in Nigeria — how the people don’t have to suffer.

“He doesn’t talk about that. He doesn’t talk about the NELFUND we have provided. He should be able to speak and say whether it’s working or not.”

Bwala accused opposition figures of shifting narratives after being proved wrong on economic policy. “They started first by saying our economic model is wrong. Now, after two years, we’ve been able to prove them otherwise. They are dog whistling for civil unrest,” he said.

"This rhetoric of Nigerians are hungry; we have to be able to grow out of it. Nigerians were hungry in 1960, hungry in 1980, hungry in 1990, hungry in 1999. It was between 1999 to 2003 that somebody sang ‘Nigeria Jaga Jaga’. You mean he sang in abstract?” Bwala asked.

“There has never been a time in which there is no one problem or the other as far as the Nigerian people is concerned. But judge the metrics. “Judge us not by the rhetoric of Nigerians are hungry. Judge us by the dynamics of what we’re putting in place and whether it’s working.”

On Monday, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, expressed concern over the level of hunger among Nigerians.

In statement issued by his Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, the former Vice President, said the hardship in the country was pushing the poor to the brink, with no clear evidence that the government had solutions.

“At this time, there are no manifest signs that this government is capable of addressing the grim issue of severe hunger staring the poor in the face after two years in power,” Atiku had said.

Yes! Even the Holy Scriptures said; "The poor will never cease from the land" as all fingers including economic opportunities are not equal. However, these band of sensational failures have retrograde amnesia.

Every indices of economic, humanitarian, and global development have taken an abysmal nosedive under their watch due to their lack of foresight. However, they are always quick to justify failure with overt glorification of same and self worship while living far from reality cocooned in grandiosity and hallucinatory delusion.

Never seen a worst set of liars & propagandists ever as this band. So shameless and remorseless. It is only God that will surely punish all these people for always daring to insult the intelligence and sensibility of the battered, beleaguered and distressed citizens of this nation that are suffering from the gross cluelessness, incompetency and ineptitude of the successive APC governments.

The APC and Emilokun ideology doesn't have development inside it. An ideology purely anchored on Palliatives, propergander and patronage cannot bring development to a hugely populated country like Nigeria. it's an error, a glitch at its core. It has Never worked anywhere globally and not in Nigeria.

Nigeria problem is the British and the west…any country that their politicians aspiring for a political position must visit any western country to seek approval using debate as a front will never be a sovereign country…

Have you see Russia, china visit any western country seeking approval ?

Imagine, can you see what's coming from the government voted for by the citizen?

So because Nigerians has been complaining of hunger since 1960, so you want to use that as weapon fashion on them it's unfair how this APC government is insulting our intelligence and make mockery of the citizens complaints.

Until we are wise in this country, this useless leaders won't take us for granted

Can you hear what these unscrupulous elements parading themselves as political leaders under the corrupt party called APC are saying?

So this is the solution you political bandits under APC can offer to Nigerians that you intentionally rendered hopeless, helpless and impoverished? It is completely finished angry

Are these guys not aware that Bola Tinubu promised Nigerians that he knows what to do to change Nigeria's situation for better?

Why venture into what you know you cannot do? Why embark on a journey you already know that you will never finish? Is this not wickedness of the highest order?

Honestly all Nigerians must join hands and make sure Tinubu and APC doesn't return to power after 2027 general elections. APC is clueless and wicked. They only came to steal, to loot and to destroy as you all can clearly see cry

Ah…..! Nigeria who do us this thing.
How old was Bwala in the sixties.
Growing up in the late seventies and early eighties we can afford to buy bread, eggs, milk, sugar, sardines, Geisha etc with ease but today many households can’t afford them.
Government schools were almost free,
Dollar was less than #1.00
Please this man need to go back to school and study Nigeria economy from the sixties to date.

I wonder why this type of comment does not gain attention. Obviously because of the fact that most Nigerians hate history and the Zionist have successfully removed it from the elementary curriculum..Yes! The so called Nigeria is a script and the present government knows about this and they are happy they are being used as characters, especially the one that just came back from France..

What happened in Nepal can not happen anytime soon here until true patriotic spirit is embedded in the hearts of the active youths. Call it Gen Z or whatever but this is the fact. Just me, my family and inner circle can't work. We need collectiveness and no cohesion until the scam called aso rock is reviewed and eventually destroyed.

The Solution to Nigeria problem is "True federalism"... Or just give us Regional Governance period. Some states are dragging the others down, some States won't let the other develop properly by using systemic deprivation to obstruct meaning infrastructural development to those areas. Then, there comes the greed of man. Most Nigeria Political elites are just there to steal while been cheer up by God of Men (Pastors). I I saw a video of Alfars (Muslim cleric) saying they will never vote for meaningful governance if it's coming from not their religion, do you imagine how depraved some people can be?
BAT, please give us Regional Governance and you will have my vote and that of my us.

I quite agree with you completely. You are apt in every sense. Imagine the effrontery and arrogance that we have been hungry since 1960? Can we compare the economy now with when it was 1960? How much was a bag of rice then as compared with now? So is it not an admission of crass failure by this administration to now justify it's policies against the economy of 1960? Sad....

Is there any time APC tinubu and their cronies has ever accepted and taken responsibility that they have failed. Buhaari his award winning liers like Lar Mohammed and Garba defended the government till when Buhari died, that was when they started confession and they sent a lot Of apologies to Nigerians including all the front desk miscreants that was paid to defend the government.

Let this man go to the streets and find out things, an average civil Servants lives from 1990 to 2015 )PDP regime ) and from 2015 to 2025 (APC regime)
Any thing APC has not destroyed doesn't exist

Nigeria has never experienced hunger of this magnitude that APC and Tinubu bring to Nigeria. A muddle of garri has never sold for 1800 in Nigeria history ,but that 1800 can start a garri business in years back. Tinubu and APC are colossal failures. APC lies are no more effective as more Nigerian citizens are now wake up to reality that APC only bring dooms and retrogression to Nigeria.

Tinubu has first hand experience of exploiting hunger in extreme poverty paupers to make them loyal for further exploitation and impoverishment to retain power with stomach infrastructure in Stockholm syndrome style.

The eyesore on Bourdillon Road
2nd January 2025

Beyond his neighbours, there is something about the sight of people hanging around a president’s residence that does not speak well of his leadership capabilities. Maybe no one has nudged him to see it, but the impression that spectacle on Bourdillon Road generates is that Tinubu enjoys the sight of suffering humans and thrives in—and through— their poverty.

If all these years, impoverished people hang around you and you remain comfortable enough to keep them just so they can be handed tokens of your large heart, then it means you have a pro-poverty mindset. Such a frame of mind is oriented toward cultivating poverty rather than stimulating abundance.

That is why he could unproblematically relate the story of his “friend” who went from using five Rolls Royce to a far-less valued car and not consider the import of the nonsense he was saying. That spurious account was an indication that this is a man for whom poverty—of others, not himself—is an ideal.

(A case study of Nigeria citizens & their elected oppressors).

During the Soviet dictatorship of Joseph stalin. He was a brutal dictator with mind of his own. On one fateful day, stalin came to Politburo meeting with a live chicken. Standing in front of audience, He started to pluck the feathers of the live chicken off one by one. The chicken trembled in pain, blood tricking out of its pores. It gave out grievous cries, but stalin being a cruel dictator continued without remorse plucking the feathers out until the chicken was completely Unclad. After which, he threw the chicken on the ground. The Unclad chicken was staggering in pain. stalin goes into his pocket and from his pockets, he took out some chicken food and started to throw it at the poor & hapless creature. The poor chicken in pain started eating and stalin started walking towards his seat. As he walked away, he kept dropping some feeds on the floor & the chicken followed him and sat feeding from his feet.

Joseph stalin then turned to members of his political party leadership. He said, "This chicken represents the people". "You must disempower them, brutalise them, beat them up, starve them and then leave them". "If you do this, go into your pocket & give them peanuts when they are in that helpless and desperate situation, they will blindly follow you for the rest of their life, worshiping you". "They will think you are a hero forever. They will forget that, you're responsible for their sorrowful situation in the first place." Breath taking, isn't it ?

Now! Take a look at all the people some Nigerians are busy defending on social media. Take a look at those they call their heroes. They are the same people who plunged Nigeria into the situation she is. They are the same people who are responsible for their predicaments. Did you see the numbers of people that throng to Saraki's House during this Sallah period to go collect peanuts? People trooping to Bola Ahmed Tinubu Foundation offices to collect branded One kilo bag of Rice & Noddles. Did you see the number of people of all ages who troop out to welcome Ex- convict James Ibori to South South! Do you see the number of handle mop following obi as if he is a seat? what of the one following dino malaye?

Your guess is as good as mine. Nigerians kill those they should defend and defend those they should kill! Pass to all your contacts & let your Political & Religion Leaders read, understand & digest.

Only a liar will claim that he has not had to adjust his lifestyle one way or the other to fit the present disaster
I for one have had to cut down on some things
Even the president's friend abandoned his rolls Royce for an Honda
So there's no need to be suffering and smiling
