Since the day I created this thread till date, I have used 55gb worth of data. This also includes my wife data usage for watching netflix. It will be good to also add that I contacted someone here who set up IPTV for me, so am also watching some very interesting channels on my smartTV.

So my conclusion... If you have smart TV and your family is the type that dont always stay at home, its far cheaper to use data to stream than to pay for cable TV. But if you are always at home and watches TV 247, then cable TV will be better.

Total cost from opening of this thread till date... Airtel 40gb for 5k *2 = 10k.... Though I still have abt 30gb left. Mind you that my wife mostly watch netflix, so even if I paid for cable TV, at least 10gb would have been used by her to watch netflix. Before the increase by DSTV, I was on price lock of 9k on compact. Now compact is 15700. So technically am saving roughly 7k/month.

Now the choice is yours to make.

Last month I didn't even use up to 6gb. My wife travelled for the greater part of the month and like I said earlier my work doesn't give me time to watch TV. So the advantage is that, I have the opportunity of watching something anytime am free within been tied to a monthly subscription.

If am on a paid TV, it's either I subscribed for the full month, which is a waste as I didn't even watch much or I didn't subscribe and hence have no means of watching anything at all.

So I decided to gamble N2500 for IPTV from @Gentleboss. My first time using IPTV.

Omo after payment wetin I hear na "Stay Online", for a second I thought he vanished but it didn't take 1 min he returned with login details for 1 month sub, I needed to try first..... I logged in and everything worked perfectly bye bye DSTV. Thousands of channels dey here oo. Setup didn't take 5 mins.

thanks for the heads up. I didn’t go through with it because the service was poor. Very poor
