Perhaps, you are out of touch with the current realities amongst Southern teenagers and students.

Yahoo yahoo has taken over their lives. I agree with the analysis by NECO. You are not an authority or in any position to state otherwise. A good number of Southern states are living in their past glories in terms of educational prowess.

I had my secondary education in the North, and I was in the same class with outstandingly brilliant Northern teenagers, Fulanis in particular. Infact two of them almost had A1 parallel in all their subjects

This is not hatred, there is no way a northern state will score so high against southern states in secondary school examination unless through politics and corruption in marking the papers.

I was waiting for a response like this.

As my people will say, when you are tired of reacting like a "reactor", you will read the article again S L O W L Y and then realise what was actually said.

The official claimed that Kano State had the most students that scored a credit concurrently in English and Maths, but not once did he state they had the highest success rate.

Simply put, if Bayelsa state sent only 1000 students to do NECO, and all those 1000 achieved credits, they would still come last by the man's limited measure ( I am certain he did it on purpose).

That's why if you look at his "success" chart, the states with the highest populations, Kano, Lagos and Oyo are top 3.

So my southern brother, no need to declare war yet, given his audience, it's clear he gave his figures that way to appease them.

Also, a lot of those Kano students will still be southerners anyway, so you can sheathe your sword

This was the same stupid stereotype that made Waec officials Lagos Ibadan to challenge results of Sarki Abba from Kano years back for scoring all As in Waec with one B in English. As at when he established that record, such result had never been seen in Nigeria so Lagos Ibadan sent a car to pick him up in Kano to Lagos so he can write it again under strict supervision by them while having less time. He rewrite each paper without the normal spacing of days Waec normally have. Guess what happened, the only B he had in English also became an A after rewriting it. He is from Kano.

Those guys who "almost had A1 parallel" that you were in awe of, are the exception in the North.

For every 1 you mention/find, trust me there are 1000 in West. Maybe 700 in East.
