“I Prayed for Her Visa” – Nigerian Pastor Demands $1,000 From Member, Threatens to Pray for Deportation
A Nigerian pastor has sparked outrage on social media after allegedly demanding $1,000 from a female church member, threatening that her daughter could be deported if the money was not sent within seven days. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

The pastor claimed he was the reason the woman’s daughter, who relocated to Australia two years ago, was able to secure her visa. He further accused the family of showing ingratitude by buying property abroad without first appreciating him.
Pastor Issues Ultimatum

During a recent ministration, the pastor reportedly revealed that the woman’s daughter was facing challenges concerning land ownership in Australia. After she confirmed the issue, he insisted on speaking to the daughter directly and demanded $1,000 be transferred to his account before the end of the week.

According to him, only his prayers could resolve her property problem and ensure her stay abroad remained secure.

In his own words, he said:

“She dey buy land, she no buy for me — me wey pray?”

He warned that failure to comply would result in him praying for her deportation back to Nigeria.

This one na Babalawo pastor.

Well, the lady should ignore his threats if her faith is strong enough to do that.
Else she'd better settle the pastor Babalawo, to avoid stories that touch.

Who told you it was your prayer that made the visa possiblehuh Prayer or not the visa would be available if it was destined to be.

Well you can't blame these pastors much because they don't come to people's house and drag them off to join their congregation.

90% of the Pastors out there are foolish including the big names we all know. The 10% actually doing the Lord's work are not in limelight and they don't need to be.

A pastor that asks for money for prayers is not a pastor, he is a latter day son of sceva, a latter day Simon the magician. Not a man of God.

God gave us logic for a reason. Christians (especially the females who are often more churchgoers) should stop letting these manipulators take advantage of them.

Freely you receive, freely give..that's what the bible says.
However sha, people should not forget men of God who assists them with prayers and stuff, don't wait for them to be asking you nah...and equally important,it still doesn't jell for him to kind of be interfering in their personal affairs, you are not her parent.... anything he wanna say to her should be said to her parents.

Pastor if it's Jesus power you are using then you are wrong! And I doubt that's what you are using because of your entitlement mentality. Bible days- FREELY YOU RECEIVED, FREELY GIVE. You can't demand payment from people for God's power. Let God repay you in his own way and time. So this is not Christianity at work.

Seen this before, where a pastor was demanding for some "thanks giving " from a friend who brought his uncle contesting for a political position to him to pray for. He won after a dogged battle and when no thanksgiving came quickly, Oga Pastor blacklisted my friend and complained to every ear that his "thanksgiving' must happen..

And some of una still dey pay tithes to these one.

This one is a comedian not a pastor. He needs to be whipped as Jesus whipped those ones in the temple.
Re: “I Prayed For Her Visa” – Nigerian Pastor Demands $1,000 From Member by churro: 9:32am On Sep 22, 2025
That's why a true believer should pray to God themselves. But If you are not and you contract a "pastor", to pray for you, then be ready to pay up whatever he charges. A true servant-leader will pray for you and move on. You are the one that will now decide whether to send them gifts of appreciation or not. .
Anyway, na dem sabi Jare.

Out of the hundreds (if not thousands) of pastors in Nigeria, the ones called by God are not more than three. The others called themselves.
