Ireland visa decision are lazy ASF and if the school resumes before the decision the will use it as an excuse towards denial.....
Defer your admission if the resume deadline is close...

I did my biometrics on July 17th, and have not received my visa yet, I have called and emailed, still same response of the application in queue. Is there anyone who also applied July 17th. My school's deadline to resume is September 29 and classes have started in University of Galway. I have tried that immigration portal, it keeps saying my phone number is unreachable. Hoping for us to receive our approvals this week. It would not pass this week o
My dear even if you get your visa… you will be moved to next intake… the latest time of arrival is Sept 28th and to register for taught courses is 26th… if you are in college of art you are lucky … you have till Oct 7th … but i hope you have registered your course … if not… I’m sorry … I had to withdrew my visa and my offer from uniGalway because of the timing and college of medicine had no adjustments on date … I hope you have heard from the embassy.. congrats in advance

I’m not sure why they’ll ask that. All they’ve been replying is application is in queue. It’s ridiculous the amount of time they’re taking to give decisions especially cause they know it’s September and people are trying to resume
I sent my appeal on 13th August … I just feel they ain’t close to the number… cuz when I told them on Sept 23rd i had till 28th to be in school and asked them to revert to the school letter i attached … they didn’t waste time to grant my visa withdrawal. There’re a lot of applicants I guess… cuz before appeals doesn’t last a week

Such a sad situation.

Please how did you go about withdrawing your visa application? I'll appreciate if you can share the process please. Cos this is looking like an option at this time.
Also, does withdrawal not affect your ability to request for school fees refund?

But this is pure rubbish, they haven't upgraded at all. The UK gets more applications than them and it doesn't take them more than 4 weeks at most... What exactly is their problem?? At this point, I feel they just want to hold on to the rest of us application so people can withdraw their application or they have reasons to deny them

I just mailed the embassy screenshots of mails from my course adviser and my school international admission team. Mine was an appeal … so I used my first visa responses and the withdrawal visa response from the embassy to apply for refund dear … September 2026 is too far to defer… that’s a whole year … if we had January intake I would have chilled
Re: Ireland Study Visa thread,General Life Experience of Nigerians Living in Ireland by ooouuuiii: 11:23am On Sep 29, 2025
Oh. Ok. Now I understand. Yes, September 2026 is too far and the fact that one has to reapply for the visa again is mental torture in itself😢

The withdrawal email you sent to the Embassy was still to this same email right (abujavisaoffice@dfa.ie)

Yes dear
if you applied to uniGalway … you are in luck they just extended their arrival date to Oct 7th …. While I was waiting and asking they gave me to 28th back then … anyways everything happens for a reason…

It is well.

Anyone reached out yesterday and heard anything from the VO yet?

List hasn't been released and today's the last day of September. Tomorrow's a public holiday as well so that's minus one day for this week😔

Hello everyone, please did anyone send any email to the embassy yesterday or Friday, I haven't gotten a response yet and it's unlike them
The last mail they sent me was to provide proof of extension and they acknowledged it but I haven't heard from them since Friday. Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong?
Re: Ireland Study Visa thread,General Life Experience of Nigerians Living in Ireland by ooouuuiii: 2:36pm On Sep 30, 2025
I reached out to the VO via email yesterday morning, no response till now. I also called all through the opening hours of their contact centre, there was no response.

And till now, no weekly list😢

Did you check for yours too?

I was thinking we (3) are the only one left here to get a decision for our study application.

Can anyone suggest what could be done when it get to this point?

Thanks

Congratulations to those that got admitted and visa also condolence to those that faced visa issue. I am joining this conversation from finland and making plans to come to Ireland for work or study. I am currently doing nursing program here and hoping to come to Ireland. I know my study is a critical skill job and I can apply to work in ireland but the downside I have is I don't have any work experience and don't know if I can get a job without work experience. So I am thinking I could come to Ireland via study at least if I have a valid visa in the country I can get a job from inside and a permit holder. I would really appreciate anyone's insight and advice. I finish m6study next year and I'm trying to make preparations now. Thank you

One question..you were given entry visa? and you have to resume and start your school before you can get resident permit. So I would say wait a bit before coming to Ireland like 2 months Because you won't be doing anything apart from spending money. But if you can get resident permit before you resume that would be great.

My school deferred my admission to January because of late resumption and I actually got to dublin the resumption date. So now I have got 3 months all to myself to do all necessary registration and maybe start working

Abuja Irish embassy published update showed they currently worked on applications received on 13 July.. so it would take little time to get to your date, I guess so?

They have worked past the date shown
I have a friend that her application got to the embassy on July 16th and she got her decision two weeks ago, so they have worked past the date they uploaded

My school gave me till October 10 to defer my admission till next year September
So I'm hoping I get my decision before then and appeal to the school to allow me resume
With all of these happening, I will advise anyone coming to Ireland next year to submit their application as early as May

If you got to Ireland on resumption date, why did you not go to your school and appeal to them.
