Dr. Gbadebo stressed that DNA tests have no place in Islam, even in cases of suspected infidelity:
“Two people engage in sex out of wedlock, and the child is born. Is there any DNA test in Islam that would grant the man paternity? None. It is forbidden. That child is always seen as a product of Zina.”

Scientific Perspective on DNA Testing
Contrasting the religious stance, Miss Aisha Ahmad, a medical scientist at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, emphasized the reliability of DNA testing for biological parentage. “DNA tests are 99% accurate if conducted correctly. They remain the best way to determine paternity when there is doubt,” she said, clarifying that the cleric’s religious viewpoint does not undermine the scientific accuracy of DNA tests.
The debate highlights the tension between religious teachings and modern science, with Muslim couples being urged to follow Islamic guidance, while acknowledging the technical reliability of DNA testing in paternity disputes.
Something tells me this man has contributed his DNA to some other marriages by these statements of his. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Mr. Cleric don't just go there, of course some people who can make deep research will know why you're saying this. But DNA test is the best option and it must be made affordable by government and also passed into law to help settle paternity disputes.

How does that solve the root of the problem that as a man you're not continuing your bloodline? How does this resolve the fact that as a man you're raising the seed of another man?
What stops you from continuing your bloodline? Your wife committed adultery and got pregnant for another man without your knowledge of the affair or without you knowing that the pregnancy is not yours, if she already had a child for you before the incidence or she later have a child for you after the incidence, how does your bloodline cease to continue?

There is nothing like raising the seed of another man if you realise that ultimately, all human have a single origin. We all came from ONE SEED. There is a reason they say whatever you do to others you do it to yourself. That is because we are all one and interconnected.

The law I proposed is meant to ensure that any man who mess around with a married woman is not allowed to reap the benefit of his evil deed.

DNA test should be made compulsory in every hospital and the amount brought down drastically. So I don't agree with the cleric
Why didn't you make your own DNA test them bring the amount down drastically.

➜The best and permanent solution to paternity fraud to me is not even DNA test. It is for government to make a law declaring that if a woman is confirmed to be pregnant after legal marriage, the child automatically belongs to the husband and no Jupiter from anywhere can come out to claim the child, in fact any man who comes out to claim the child would be jailed for life. And if the wife takes the child to the biological father or inform the child that her husband is not the real father she would be jailed for life.
And the child is permanently banned by law from ever recognising the illegitimate father as his or her father as long as the legal father is still alive.
➜ This type of law would permanent stop paternity fraud.
1. Such a statute has been in place since the time of your ancestors in pretty much all of the cultural groups in Nigeria; for example, the bastard child in Yoruba land is a land within a given family whose origins are not bloodlinked to the man of the family. undecided

2. Obviously, the men are no longer satisfied with the law and would rather be allowed to cast the woman and child out completely in such a case. undecided

Their believe not ours. In my opinion, the legislature should pass it into law.
The same legislature that has yet to pass laws to benefit the life of the common man? Una too wowo, abeg! undecided

You need a lesson in statistics....Go and look up the amount of FIRST BORN child that is not biologically the husband's in Nigeria! You're heading down a slippery lane with this mindset already as without paternity tests you have no way of knowing which child is yours or not hence the THREAT to the bloodline!

Apart from genetical/medical issues such as blood type and so on, there are spiritual implications so no my friend, no such thing as ONE SEED!

People should have the freedom to conduct a DNA test just to clear their doubts. No be everything be religion. Let's not be caged and controlled by this thing called religion. If you born pikin and your instinct dey tell you sey no be ur pikin, then try make you conduct DNA test.

Do you know that if you conduct a DNA test and it turns out that the child is actually your then it means you have destroyed the peace in your family forever?!

According to African traditions whether the child is biologically that of the husband or not is irrelevant, so long as he accepts the child it is recognized as his own

No such thing as African traditions, we have over 20,000 ethnic groups in Africa, how can one tradition speak for all of them, stop the LAMBA!

I read the comments here and I shake my head.

First of all, who's a Muslim?
Being a Muslim is not just a label, it involves action and practice. The core practices of a Muslim's life, summarized in the Five Pillars of Islam, are Shahada (Faith), Salah (Prayer): performing the five daily prayers, Zakat (Charity): giving a portion of one's wealth to the poor and needy each year, Sawm (Fasting): fasting from dawn to sunset during the holy month of Ramadan, and Hajj (Pilgrimage): undertaking a pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca at least once in a lifetime, if physically and financially able.

Most people labeled themselves Muslims but are involved in adultery and fornication (zina) which are any sexual relationship outside of a valid marriage contract which is a major sin.

So as a true Muslim married to a true Muslim ( I don't mean an hypocrite married to a deceptionist) why would there be a need for a DNA test?

But for a Rosco (regular customer) that unfortunately married an OS ( retired HK)
My brodaaa, do DNA oooooooo grin

Ok.

Picture this: a woman bears four children while married but none of them belong to her husband. The man is unaware of the stiuation and raises the children as his own until they are adults. The man dies suddenly and the truth comes out eventually.

Based on the law you are proposing, the children can now be claimed by their real fathers since the 'legal' father is no more. So what has been gained?

Nope. The children will be permanently barred by the law from ever recognising anybody other than their legal father (the man who is legally married to their mum) as their father. Even if the legal father is dead

Ok.

Then you need to amend the second to the last sentence of your post I quoted. That sentence ends with "as long as the legal father is still alive".
