In other words, you are asking if it will reduce the price of bread, mudu of garri, and cup of rice?

Since this is good news to the economy in terms of job creation and economy growth, you are already sad at hearing the good news because it does not suit your agenda.

Wait, you think Michelin is one 2x2 shop owner that just wakes up and say "we are going back to Nigeria"?

Oh they have done no groundwork to warrant them coming back right? It's you that knows what hasn't been "fixed", they have their data guiding their imminent return!

Except they plan to sell subsidies tyres or rollout a credit instalment payment system, Nigerians can’t afford their tyres!
Na the simple truth be this. Except they want to be "creative" like some companies and come up with lower quality segments。But I doubt if they can compete with cheaper asian brands。

Just hear yourself? 18 years ago, they left because of economy policy and harsh conditions of that era and now with a friendly economic environment they're coming back, what's the crime in that!
It's high time you guys face realities, that world economy has changed!

Even my brand new 2024 model car here in the UK doesn’t run on Michelin tyres.

There are loads of cheaper options here than Michelin tires.

Seeing them come back to Nigeria is a good news it will still reduce the unemployment population of this country, I hope they will sustain it this time by staying? However I will also use this medium to appeal to Govt to create an enabling environment for foreign investors to invest in our economy, Govt should focus on the area of stabilizing electricity supply in the country most times what actually chase away investors is poor power supply.

They are not even planning to return to production, this is deceptive reporting, of course I'm not surprised, e-bots at it again. This is shameful and shameless at the same time. The economy doesn't sustain profitable investments and no foreign company will risk coming to invest in it, fact. Even Dunlop cannot even dream of returning talk less of Michelin.

The article initially said "Though the company has not announced plans to reopen a factory, according to the news report, ‘it wants to rebuild its brand visibility, strengthen local presence, and position Nigeria as a key growth hub in Sub-Saharan Africa.”

Then the writer runs to the end of the article and adds "...and confidence already built by the current government’s bold policies of economic reforms, ongoing road construction and infrastructure projects which have created new opportunities in heavy-duty and off-road segments, must have inform the company’s decision to fully return to the country.".

Where did they say they are fully returning to the country? Na wa oh...

The delusions of a failed government knows no bounds, they lie to themselves and Force themselves to believe their lies, but then whatever rocks their boat.
Your pain is forever…. Cry more

That's not surprising. Their country are the new Slave masters of the Nigger Area. When is Tinubu visiting France again? These white people are very clever. From Britain to France. The slavery and leeching on the Blaackman never ends. 600 years and counting. cool Meanwhile the Africaan chiefs are still feeling the euphoria of their mirrors, walking sticks and gin while Africa bleeds.

and the African chiefs keep smiling...
African chiefs, presidents, governors, rich people.... HATE poor people.
And do everything to make sure the poor people remain poor and under their control.
They so much love to do this "CONVOY" of a thing.
"Make dem see say I don arrive"...
That mentality is engrained in every elite. For what purpose?
They will do anything to keep the poor, poorer, let the poor be lining up the streets.
But Europe/West will try much to pass their leader through public utilities as much as possible.

People with investment funds who make decisions devoid of emotions have seen the wind, you are still waiting to see the wind?
If they explain Nigeria to you and you understand..you haven't gotten the true gist.
A govt that churns out unfavorable policies like it's Christmas candy. Extremely unfriendly business climate.
The article clearly stated they were thinking.. nothing concrete..
You think Multinationals take your emotions seriously.. they look and forecast. Waiting till 2027 helps them .if a new Govt enters or it's gonna be Extended Hopelessness 3.0

NO SURPRISES WHATSOEVER.

This is what we mean when we tell you guys to GIVE TINUBU A CHANCE TO TRANSFORM NIGERIA.

That man is a highly intelligent technocrat.

A visionary par excellence.

Look at ''A WHOLE MICHELIN'' begging to be allowed back into Nigeria.

AFTER 18 YEARS' ABSENCE!!!!!!!!!

Meaning they had completely LOST HOPE in Nigeria.

UNTIL NOW.

Plus MORE COMPANIES are on their way.

Look, you people should not annoy me in this country. Leave Tinubu to complete his good work! angry angry angry
It's this lies I don't want to hear from you guys. They are not begging anybody to come back. They have their reasons they left which was buying cheaper tyre from China. If they come they will still meet competition here except they will be willing to see at an affordable price.
Re: Michelin Planning Comeback After 18yrs Of Exit From Nigeria by Raph82(m): 10:14am On Oct 16, 2025
If Michelin left 18 years ago and now begging to return, 2 things are involved. It's either they've seen a green light in the economy which is yet invisible to we inside Nigeria, or they have suffered and felt the consequence of their own action in living Nigeria so hastily without proper consultation. The Nigerian market is big enough for them to thrive, irrespective of the situation I presume.

I don't think your second point after the first was necessary. I criticise this government like the rest do, however your comment was so weak. Whether they come or not it's left for the company.
