Dennisochampa:Fine ! you think you have a point! let me remind you Michelin left for some reasons that hinder viability these reasons i consider the underlying issues, how many have govt fixed/resolved, if the challenges are still there nd they are coming back how long before they fly back again Indigenous businesses are finding it so difficult to stay up, Dangote refinery if not for the financial muscle that man has, ... foreign investors don't owe commitment they are flight-triggered We are thinkers, don't blame us if we don't count our chicks b4 the egg hatches |

HenryWilliams:Oga stop being so negative. Even if it’s not concrete, people that were not thinking before are now thinking. Shell just confirmed $2b invested yesterday. Qatar just announced $300b investment commitment in Nigeria over the next 10yrs. For Gods sake you can criticize the govt and acknowledge the gains. Not every time politics. At the end of the day, whether you support Tinubu or Obi, they will come and go and Nigeria will remain. It’s Nigerians That will enjoy or suffer whether or not investors come to Nigeria or not. Celebrate any investment irrespective of who is in power because the investors don’t ask who you support when they create the jobs. What’s wrong with you people? |

Michelin needs the Nigerian market. ![]() Net income at Michelin fell 27.7 per cent year-on-year in the first half of 2024, pushed down by a mixture of lower sales and tyre volumes, particularly in the original equipment segment. This €840 million net income equates to earnings per share of €1.18, down from €1.62 in Q1 2024.Source: https://www.tyrepress.com/2025/07/unstable-highly-unpredictable-times-michelin-reports-lower-h1-2025-sales-income

If I post "NASA is about to open their new astrodrome in North-Southern City of Klingonia" people would just read the headline and comment "You see, Tinubu is working" |

theredaddy:.. Well... I don't think you know more than the principals of the company... If they left for a reason... They are coming back for a reason... Indigenous companies are struggling because they are used to doing the wrong things over time.... Nigeria is home to thousands of companies that are thriving even in the face of the economic hardship... It's all about flexibility and adaptations... Where others see a problem... The companies that are still standing strong see solutions |

Immatex:You’re correct about how vehicle owners now don’t mind driving on low budget tyres. However, Michelin would also have to tailor their brand to suit the Nigerian market in order to compete with the low budget brands |

The first year in office of BAT, I told someone that investors will troop in, if the economy is stable, he doesn't need to be going around looking for investors, once those variables are in place and there's economic growth, they will fall in... The only thing that can slow the growth is the insincerity of our leaders, the masses are already paying the price |

This is good news any how u look at it. It you look well. you'll see that it is France trying to survive. After loosing gripe of their BIG sources (Mali, Niger, Bokinafaso....), they made move to penetrate our mind by buying DSTV. Are you aware that cost of power for factories in France has gone high as Uranium from Niger has been cut off. We are going to see more moves by France. Them never see something. |

theredaddy:MTN once told us that they couldn't per second billing because of the usual suspect..."energy factor" until Glo came to me rescue! Hello, they are still here and remain the biggest Telecom provider! In a country of 200 million plus people, you think they won't have patronage. Don't make me laugh abeg! I guess everyone in Nigeria is now using donkeys! There are challenges, yes, but for Michelin to consider coming back, they must have done their homework! |

MT:All these you have written is nonsense. I did not elect any government to provide me with any goddam enabling environment. Is it why governments are elected? The role of any government is to provide its citizens with necessities of life like quality health care, education, security, power supply, drinking water etc etc. Not all these nonsense capitalist ideas of government providing so-called enabling environment and the citizens should do the rest. By the way, you guys keep saying that the government's policies are on the right direction and you people always fail to mention a single one of those so-called right policies. Not a single power generating plant has been build since buharis government uptil now, which is what truly matters if you are to industrialize, and in so doing create millions of jobs. Ajaokuta steel company is still comatose and dead, and industrialization is not possible without a functional steel industry. The list is endless jor. If what you mean by right policies is the floating of the naira to the mercy of the markets and speculators, removal of subsidies on literally everything, refusing to increase the national minimum wage but instead only the executive and legislative branches enjoying enormous pay , not a single national public transport system in operation and yet the president buying a brand new presidential jet costing atleast 150million dollars, 5 billion naira yatch etc etc those are nothing but policies of an economic hitman, sent to commit the treasonable crime of destroying his own country's economy. |
