LIVER CIRRHOSIS is what you get from alcohol. Not hepatitis. |
| Re: “Drinking Alcohol VS The Silent Killer - HEPATITIS.” by maasoap(m): 5:27pm On Oct 14, 2025 |
InvertedHammer:Hepatitis B causes liver cirrhosis in some individuals. Excessive alcoholic drinks causes liver cirrhosis in some individuals. Op is still right by saying alcohol doesn't cause Hepatitis. |

Pharaohny:There is a drug for it, the person suffering from it should see a doctor or pharmacist, that's the best thing to do. The drug is a bit expensive and many fake of it in the market. The earlier the better |

Neddyogu:Lol. See how you are advertising ignorance on nairaland ![]() Hepatitis A, B, C, D, E are names for the virus, they sometimes cause disease known as liver cirrhosis which can also be caused by too much alcoholic consumption. Alcohol and malaria can't cause the virus named Hepatitis but can cause liver damage known as cirrhosis |

maasoap:/ Really? Hepatitis== inflammation of the liver There are viral and non-viral causes. Alcohol, medications, auto-immune disorder are part of the non-viral causes of hepatitis. What the hell are you talking about? / |

Kingpele:Why are we always over serious about life issues as if they just they happen in 2025. Birth and death are common to all. The difference is the survival strategies adopted by individuals. Life goes on. As it is in the beginning. so also now, and so shall it be forever amen |

[quote author=RetroviralS post=137052062]Baba Shade often heard people asking him, "Can you stop drinking?" You go soon get hepatitis now!… Not just for Baba Shade, this has been a concern for many people who drink. We keep hearing this……. Sound familiar? A little clarification that came up in the comments: Some people rightly mentioned that alcohol can damage the liver and that’s very correct. It can lead to alcoholic hepatitis and cirrhosis. WHO emphasizes this clearly, and it’s something we should all be mindful of. This post, however, was about [i]viral hepatitis (B & C), the types that are caused by viruses and spread through blood, unprotected sex, or from mother to child at birth. Both are serious liver conditions . So even alcohol should be taken in moderation. Understanding the difference helps us protect our health and make more informed choices. Thank you to everyone who pointed this out. Conversations like this are what make awareness stronger. 🙏 |
