This reminds me of Dedevbo's U20s when they got thrashed by Japan. At least that Japan side was actually great. This Canadian team is average and we are appalling
For sir Basco aka Voltron to say this, then, it is finished!!!!

Why do the Nigerian Coaches always pick goalkeepers that don’t get game time at clubs for the National Team?? There are a lot of goalkeepers in the league we do watch during the seasons but when it’s time for call up they will bring in their favorites…

We have been crying for a proper backup for Chiamaka Nnadozie, we don’t want to be in a mess when there’s a situation of her being unavailable..

We have few goalies abroad, at least 4 in Europe and also about 3 in College in the US..

Abeg when are Super Falcons playing their game against Benin?
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by TheSuperNerd(m): 11:04am On Oct 20, 2025
Also Peace Effiong. But some mentioned that she is injured or so.

So embarrassing.

This Canadian team is at best average. Our own team is so disorganised. A far cry from the performance we presented just a year ago. Where did the coach pick this bunch from? The only recognisable person their is Shakirat Moshood. Where is Chidi Harmony? I thought she was 15yrs old last year?

1. Our keeper is atrocious.
2. Too many meaningless & ballooned shots from distance.
3. Dem dey play without positional discipline. Anywhere wey ball go, na there all the players dey go.

Overall, a poorly coached team.

Will she win African player of the year ?
Or they’ll give it to Chabbak ?

JOE reportedly out with a hamstring injury. Not sure the NFF will call in a replacement.

Wishing JOE a speedy recovery.

🔸Close control✔️
🔸Good use of.body swerves and turns✔️
🔸Easily changes direction of play✔️
🔸Good vision,✔️
🔸Good passer of the ball; passes to feet and to space she anticipates team mate will run to✔️
🔸Hugs the ball too much at times when she can pass and rest ❌

Can't speak to how good she is because I haven't seen her play, but judging by the options available to us now, I don't think she'll be any worse.

She's young and in an environment where she can grow, I'll hope she gets a call up soon.

Good summary. On your last point, I agree she has the tendency to hug the ball at times but it's far from being her biggest con in the clip show. I even thought she passed too much. There were chances she should have just taken that she chose to pass. I remember screaming on one of those occasions, wondering why she chose to pass instead of just going for goal.

Truthfully Esther Okoronkwo stands out ahead of the rest nominees for Club and Country..!

She should get it, I think Ajibade is the main character that might stand in her way considering winning the WAFCON player of the tournament as well and a popular figure..!

But again I’m loving the media Hype Okoronkwo is getting and she herself is going with the flow delivering goals and assists as well..

Good to read from you sir.

On your observation, I think it's because she's extremely left-footed and can't use her right leg at all.

I didn't take note of the instances you mentioned but I suspect the ball / shooting angle was on her weak right leg so she chose to pass just like she did in the AFCON final to Ijamilusi

She debut for Portsmouth in the English Women's Cup against Brighton & Hove Albion FC in September 2025.

She had a great game, you can watch it on YouTube. But for now I will definitely pick her as 3rd choice for the Super Falcons considering the environment she’s in right now where there’s proper training and competition..

Chebbak is world class too
It’s hosted in Morocco so you never can tell how politics could swing it
The year Ordega should’ve won they crowned Kgatlana

Ordega was good that year but didn’t perform better than Thembi overall even though Nigeria won the trophy…

You’re sounding as if Nigeria can’t win awards or tournaments just because it’s hosted in Morocco..!

Football all round Club and Country
Esther Okoronkwo is no.1 in Africa right now…

In terms of club alone then Temwa Chawinga is no.1

The same way it was said Lookman wouldn't win because of Hakimi and Morocco being host. Hakimi even had a very good chance, but Chebbak doesn't have any at all.

He can't unless he researches painstakingly. Lol. He is just fond of saying things to create attention on his posts. Does this a lot on the Super Eagles thread.

It might be a stretch for Okoronkwo to win the W-APOY, considering the exploits of the others you listed.
Not to mention the fact that Ajibade won the WAFCON player of the tournament, even though really didn't do anything else at club level.
Okoronkwo, on the other hand, had been excelling in the Canadian league.
It's a tough one to guess who will win it.

Might be a stretch? Not a stretch at all in my opinion . RASH also winning the WAFCON player of the tournament doesn't in any way hinder cause we have precedence to reference. Remember Ekong won player of the tournament at the AFCON, and this didn't stop Lookman from winning.

Also, like you rightly mentioned, Rash didn't do enough at club level to put her over the edge. I remember correctly some of us even thought Esther was just as deserving if not more of the WAFCON player of the tournament. Of all the nominees listed, I believe she is the only player that has both national and club accomplishment deserving of the award.
