joelbooks:The same way your husband's assets belong to you if he dies before you, and your sons will inherit your assets. So, what exactly is your point? Are you talking about the same Igbo tribe where Ụmụada (women age grade) is the most feared and respected group? Anyways, your opinion or claim cannot define or decide the Igbo tribe. So, write whatever you want to write. |

Are Igbos looking for members? You are free to go where women are the ones feeding their husbands, the good reason inheritance should be given to only women over there. |

Someone tell me which society in Igbo land is more powerful than "Umuada" Even eze in council would never challenge umuada No tribe reverence woman like igbos No where in igbo culture does it say your fathers property can't be shared to female daughters Your father can share family land to female daughters simple because they don't belong to him... He is given in trust by the community and only men of that community can hold land in trust |

immortalcrown:This is untrue! According to research, the husband's property does not automatically become his wife's upon his death in iboland. However , a wife's does. 🤔 |

mrvitalis:. You mean the same gang of women who are known to bully women into submitting to the will of their husbands, regardless of how unjust the situation? Come on! I saw a documentary sometime ago of how that group has been used in many cases to silence justice, all in the name of supposedly keeping peace and tradition. 😩😩😩 |

mrvitalis:Nonsense! 😩😩😩 The only rule of law necessary is the same law that rules over the men and that is the criminal code established in the country for all citizens. All should receive equal treatment under the law for whatever crimes committed, regardless of gender, age or creed. ![]() Trying to bully women into submitting to acts they would otherwise not accept by way of an all-female gang of thugs is nothing short of tyrannical. ![]() |

All my Ibo girls are always saying the same thing.. This is exactly why Ibo girls don’t joke with our preek here in the west.. This is 2025, but when you reach Ibo land, you’ll think they’re in 1850 with the way the do things in a primitive way.. |

Morenikeji090:Say what you know and stop letting your emotions due to your hatred to take you for a ride. If you have heard about Umuada without their consent, you as a person can't carry out the burial of you love ones, apart from that, they are highly respected, then you will know that Igbos respect women a lot, the rich ones among them gives properties to their female daughter. |

nnamdi640:What you just typed makes an even worse case for the existence of such a group. Why should consent be needed from such a group on such things? ![]() |

Kobojunkie:Women trying to bully women is now a mans problem U already told you no body can challenge umuada... If they decide to degrade women then it's women issue not men |
| Re: Igbo Patriarchy Is Very W!cked. As An Igbo Girl I'll Never Marry An Igbo Man-lady by Kobojunkie: 4:26pm On Oct 22, 2025 |
mrvitalis:No gang — not even one made up of women —out there should be allowed to go around bullying individuals in the community. This is simple enough for anyone to understand, or is it not? ![]() In any sane society, women bullying women— same as men bullying men— is actually a societal problem, but I guess expecting you to understand this is expecting too much. ![]() |

It’s a pure lie you don’t value it regardless your female child…. Morenikeji090:See who is talking, I know a place in your region where one of your oba was lifted 6feet above the ground and was thrown down, the other was beaten blue and black, your obas of Lagos house was looted and his kingship staff was stolen, is that what you call respect?... Beside there is a reason why the law was part of the culture and I believe there is room for improvement. You can't claim that your culture has no fault, as long as it was made by man, it has faults |

Kobojunkie:That is your business, you wanted to ridicule Igbos about their female but I just put it to you that our women hold a strong position when it comes to our culture. Beside you would have channel you energy to the north where women only belong to the kitchen |

The foolish woman wants to inherite husbands properties and fathers properties.... Will her brothers inherite wives properties?? Its not expected cos women don't have properties, they depend on their husbands.... she will still fight her inlaws if the women in husband's family are fighting for their fathers properties.... that's why they say most women don't think with sense b4 talking |

What percentage of igbo women are feeding their husbands? ....something wey no reach 0.5%... igbos no be like yoruba .... its like women like u should be deported to saudi, India, China, Egypt Russia for a decade, when u come back, u go get senseVery stewpid statements put forth all in desperate attempts to shutdown all attempts to expose the injustice that is behind this culture. ![]() Let's, for the sake of argument, pretend that less than <0.5% of Ibo married women are breadwinners. What reason exists for why even that 0.5% should not be allowed to inherit their husband's property? Better yet, what valid reason exists for why any of the over 99.5% others should not be allowed to inherit their husband's property? When, by law, the dividends of a marriage are to belong to both the husband and the wife. ![]() |
