Lordcrixus:for a first timer applicant for U.K... e.g someone that earns like 800k in a month... if the person has an opening balance of 5M and the balance did not go beyond 5M within the period of 6 months .. how much is expected to remain out of the 800k salary.. Also.. the person has a side gig in a bizness account.. where he sees a profit of almost 250 to 350k profit in a month( average of 200K monthly) . How best is the account should be run for the purpose... kindly advice |

Finally got my passport back and visa was approved (2 years). We were three who applied together, however others received theirs within a week, although they applied for 6 months visa. So naturally, I was worried. I had been to the UK 3 times but my last trip was over 10 years ago. This trip came up impromptu so my accounts were in a mess. Although my office is sponsoring, however I included my bank statements to show evidence of salary payments. 3 accounts: one receives basic salary, the second receives allowances and the third shows savings. No serious money in 3 of them, except for little money in the savings. It was after I had submitted that I learnt I needed to explain deposits that were not from my employer. I had a lot of them…some as much as 3m. Submitted only 3 months statements. I’m just grateful that the anxiety is over. NB: I have a valid US visa and have been to the US over 6 times in the last 10 years. |

Oggg:I will speak , have spoken and will continue to speak on UK visas matters on this thread. Use the pen you use to assume to actually read. Since you seem to know those who were refused solely on not proving sibling relationship provide that evidence. Birth certificate does not prove sibling relationship. You can have same mother with different name at the time of your births. And I have applied numerous times for uk visas staying with siblings and did not have to prove that relationship . Birth certificate only proves parental relationships that's all. |

I plan bringing my mum to UK on visit visa next year, all expenses fully sponsored by me. What do I need to prepare as supporting documents to back the application? |

Pekela:You will still get the email, same happened to me in 2021, I picked up my passport only to be refused when I didn’t get a refusal email, I think I ended up getting it some days later |

Oggg:I only submitted an old picture we took together, I’m hoping this will not be a reason to be refused. Also we share the same last name. |

Taal17:. . At least stop giving out wrong advice for starters. If anyone is applying on here, try and prove your relationship to your sponsor. Please prove you have met them in the basic or you have a relationship with them asin they are related to you if you say they are. Several refusal letterssss attached below for those that want to follow loud and wrong individuals as above and spoil their chances.

Good afternoon, Please, i have been refused a visa before from France and now in my uk visa application, i am being asked if i have to ever been refused a visa. I’m wondering whether i should select no as my passport wasn’t stamped or has anything that shows I was refused or if I should just pick yes. So I would like to know if anyone has been in this situation and finally got the uk visa , what option they picked Thank you |

Fumns:Please DECLARE your previous visa refusal(s) ooo.. They share immigration records with other major countries. Please don’t joke with a 10years visa ban. They will KNOW and serve you with a BAN if you refuse to declare. Just be truthful. |

cutelass:You got this visa based on your previous travel history to the UK and your US travel history in the last ten years. I tell people that even when your application is not well packaged as regards account statement, and you have a decent travel history, chances are higher compared to a first timer. The long duration for issuing the visa is to investigate your application very well because you applied for a 2 year visa compared to the other two person. This is normal when applicants move from 6-Months visa to 2-, 5-, or 10- years visa. If you use this visa well and maintain your decent travel history, your next application will be seamless and swift. My current two year visa, i used only my pay slips , i did not attach any bank statement. I could do that because i have been traveling to the UK every year since 2015, some years 2-3 times per year and i never spent more than 2 weeks on every visit. I got the visa in 5 working days, and this was a standard application. |

Help please. The father is sponsoring. His personal account is okay but there were some large withdrawal that were done for personal project. The father has a business registered with CAC but there's no recent activity in the business bank account for that past 6 years. So should the applicant leave out the business side of the sponsor? Should the sponsor be said to have retired? If retired? Will there be need for any supporting document that he has retired from business? |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Taal17: 2:25pm On Oct 21, 2025 |
typingmaster:If the applicant is an adult then father should not be full sponsor. He or she must stand on their own funds to travel Only exception should be a young adult in university no job |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by typingmaster: 2:54pm On Oct 21, 2025 |
Taal17:Thanks for your input but you are missing the question. I am not asking if the dad can be a sponsor or not. The applicant is an adult and wants to go to UK to write exam. My question is about what to present as a sponsor. Should only the sponsor's personal statement be used and the sponsor will be presented as a retired business man. The father(sponsor) has a business with active CAC but no activity in his business account for the past 6 months. |

Good evening everyone. I just wrote my final exams in the university and my brother is inviting me for is graduation taking place 19th of next month. He will get a letter of invite from the university when my passport is ready which will be early next month. Note: My dad is sponsoring the trip May questions are; 1) Is it too late to apply for a visa? 2) what other documents should I get ready? |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Taal17: 10:29pm On Oct 21, 2025 |
Excel70:It's likely too late since grad ceremony is 19th. Unless you do premium processing which to be honest for visit visa to come for a graduation. If you've had previous UK visa it's not impossible. Get your passport first and start the application first. When you get to that bridge you'd see if there are dates for biometric ahead of your expected date. Your brother does need to provide evidence of his status in the UK Accommodation of where you will stay with him Funds if he's taking care of expenses You need evidence of your status as a student |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Excel70: 7:00am On Oct 22, 2025 |
Taal17:Thank you very much. For the evidence of status as a student,I don't have an i.d card but can get a document from the school showing my student profile and alsoI can get my admission letter. Will these suffice? |

Good day everyone. I was asked by a friend in the UK to accompany his children below 18 years to VSF biometrics appoint for visa to join him. 1. Which document must I go with as they are not my children to gain entrance 2 . Which other documents apart from their international passport will be a required/demanded for their biometrics to be taken. God bless you all |

Hello house, If my husband is my sponsor for my visa application, and I submit his savings account that has a healthy balance, do I need to show the origin of the funds into his savings account? |

Pls i got an email from VFS that a decision has been made. I don't know what to expect. |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by abelle036: 12:45pm On Oct 23, 2025 |
SirPilgrim:When did you submit biometrics? What I have seen most times is that if you don't have a refusal letter, it's most likely approval. Although sometimes the refusal letter comes late. You can only know from looking at your passport |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Taal17: 1:22pm On Oct 23, 2025 |
Excel70:That should be fine. Hopefully you get your passport in time. Remember you can always visit your brother when you're on vacation from school so it doesn't have to be for his graduation. |

Excel70:Have you read this thread at all? This would not suffice as home office would deny you… and say… these in itself do not prove you are a student… Pls we have addressed this several times on this thread especially when students got refusals and came here. Read the thread. You are a student and should have time. Provide ID card Admission letter School results School reports Department levies invoice and schedules paid Pictures of you at schools Letters from sch to yourself Introduction letter from your school to ukvi School fees receipts from inception Matric pictures And other pictures, projects, publications, letters showing your ties to the school |
