but your issues is with the woman not the child the law does not say you must stay with the woman. It only said you must contribute in taking good care of the child. Is it fair to punish an innocent child for the behavior of the mother.

Well, it's not a bad law. All the paternity fraud being perpetrated by same women isn't yet a criminal offense but this one. These m00g00 lawmakers should better know what they're doing.

You can't bring a child to the world and then run away, leaving the woman alone to suffer the care and then show up in the future to claim the child.

And likewise, there should be a law to prosecute paternity frauds.

What happens if the man truly doesn't want the child and the woman kept the child for herself? Because a woman has the rights to abort if she doesn't want the child and she will not be jailed.

A man should also be allowed to walk away from a child he doesn't want without a jail term.

That has been the stance of the law since the time of your ancestors and this was as instituted by the patriarchal system that existed even then. 1. A man already is. He is to abstain from having sex altogether or get his tubes tied if he does not want to have children. Simple!

2. A woman does not decide on her own. The law assumes that the decision is made at the point where the man and woman both voluntarily choose to have sex. It takes both a man and a woman to have a child. Simple!

3. Why should the state take a child away from its parents without penalizing both parents for having the child in the first place?

4. What the heck are you on about? Abortions are illegal in Nigeria. And this decision was made, not by women but by the patriarchal system that has ruled the country to this day.
