Hello house,
If my husband is my sponsor for my visa application, and I submit his savings account that has a healthy balance, do I need to show the origin of the funds into his savings account?
Do you have travel history that would steer away the ECO from digging further? If no, yes you must provide this.
UK Eco does not care about millions or billions in your account, they care about deeper things and ORIGIN of your funds is one of them.
Read the thread, refusal letters of this kind are on here.

I hope so, my Biometric was on 2nd of October
abelle036:
When did you submit biometrics? What I have seen most times is that if you don't have a refusal letter, it's most likely approval. Although sometimes the refusal letter comes late. You can only know from looking at your passport

Pls i got an email from VFS that a decision has been made.
I don't know what to expect.
Congratulations in advance.
My sister applied to come visit me. Her biometrics was 3rd of October. She's yet to get an email. I am wondering what could be causing the delay.

I could see that your application was on the 2nd.
Please when did you get this email?

I thought delay counts from after the 15th working day which is today.
Because my mother in-law and mum's didn't even stay up to 10 working days.
Thanks for the clarification.

Please I need everyone's input to this. Why this refusal? I attached everything, work contract, employment letter, pay slips, certified bank statement from Wise. For my expenditure, most outgoing transfers on my account are own-account transfers to my Naira bank account in Nigeria for personal budgeting purposes, not actual spending. Therefore, they should not have been interpreted as excess expenditure. I have previously visited France, Vietnam, Qatar, Malaysia, etc...
Unfortunately, that's how UK sees it. They use debits to know your 'actual' expenses.

Did you include a cover letter explaining the salary? Is the amount entering your wise account exactly the £4820.70 you stated on visa form? If it's not, did you explain on your cover letter? I assume the payslips should reconcile net amount received but these ECOs want you to spell it out to them.

The transfer to your Nigerian account, is your name shown in the bank memo for those transfers? Did you attach the Nigerian account or provide transfer proof or explanation in cover letter?

When did you give your biometrics ?

Sorry for the refusal.

It appears your monthly income as shown on your bank statement does not align with the monthly income you stated in your form.

How did you arrive at the figure you stated in your form? All debits in your account are seen as expenses.

Unless you have travel history to the UK, they will scrutinize your claims line by line. The salary you claimed and monthly debits caused the refusal.

My bank statement shows I make $6,500 pm, the ECO acknowledged that. That was the conversion rate when I was submitting my application. I have a Portugal digital nomad residency visa in my passport, I wouldn’t have gotten that if i wasn’t earning what I said I earn, yet the EFO wasn’t convinced with all other documents.

I didn’t explain my debits, 99% are own transfer to my NGN account. The figure of the expenses started are estimate of what I spend per month, not per the debits in my bank statement. I find it weird having to explain my debits when there are narrations in each of these transactions, these people just rejecting people for the most stupidest reasons - going through the cases on this thread after submitting my application, I saw people being rejected for not explaining how they got the deposit of amount as low as 2,000 NGN.

Explain my salary? I explained what I do, and how much I make per month - 6,500. My bank statement shows inflow of a bi-monthly payment of 3,250 with the trx reference showing my employer. The own account transfer shows the money was sent to my account carrying the same name, I didn’t attach my Nigerian account. I spend a lot, i couldn’t be explaining everything in my Naira account hence why I didn’t include it, also, I had huge amount in the Wise account, they should be able to make a decision with that.

Please who knows a immigration/family lawyer who can handle name change on documents?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by MsAnonymous: 8:28am On Oct 24, 2025
Unfortunately these people are not too smart.
I will advice for your next trial, if you can just withdraw what you need to spend for the month (NGN 1m) into another spending account. So your account balance shows only 1 inflow and min outflow per month.
Sorry abt that.
Try again in like 3 months ish

Pleasant morning, good people... Please my brother just got this email from the UKgov... He's trying to bring in his 13 years old son... Please what's the best approach to respond, especially points 'b' and 'c'? The father is married to someone else and they both live in the UK, mother is here in Nigeria, but the boy has been with my family since he was a year plus and my brother has been responsible for him ever since. Please help...

Thank you for your input. I’m not even trying again anytime soon. Not in six months or 1yr. I’m starting my digital residency in PRT next month, I’d have like 28 countries to visit. I was hoping I’d fly from the UK to PRT.

I would have honestly gone to Portugal first. This is just me. They feel you were visa shopping based on digital visa you got but were ridiculous in this application handling.
Don’t ever assume UK will give you visa like that.
It is USA/Canada that operate more on such basis.
Since you have no intention of reapplying you can send a complaints email and see how that pans out.
Nothing to lose

Is your brother the skilled worker or the skilled worker dependent?
Is there an existing sole custody?
If no and If he is the skilled worker dependent then it is assumed that the minor child can be left with his mother in Nigeria… because ofcourse that is his primary parent as well or with the same people that have been taking care of him in the last 13 years.
The odds are mightily not in ya favour if the child’s father is the dependent in this situation. His mother is alive, child should live with his mom. That is the duty of care the UK government owes to children which they have also explained in the letter you posted.
Point B- is collected from courts- sole custody and sole responsibility court order.
Do not obtain a fake document because they verify.

Hello@Everyone,

Will having been refused visas three times by the US and four times by France affect my chances of obtaining a UK visitor visa to visit my daughter, who is currently studying in the UK?
Why did they refused you visa to those two countries?
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Emerald138: 10:19am On Oct 24, 2025
Good morning, house. I am trying to invite my mom to my graduation next month, but she was denied. What do I do? Can I reapply and state that she's a housewife because she doesn't have a business certificate or documents, and does petty trading? Will this refusal affect it?

Hello@justwise

For the US nonimmigrant B1/B2 visa application, refusals under section 214(b).
For the Schengen France short stay visa refusals, 'There are reasonable doubts as to your intention to leave the territory of the Member states before the visa expires.'

Ok so declare all the visa refusals, you got no choice, visa refusal is not the prob, the prob comes when people are not honest about it

Sorry about the refusal, best leave it till later when you are settled on your digital nomad visa in Portugal.

I've got some enquiries regarding the process you took in getting the Portuguese digital nomad visa. Did you use an agent or you did all on your own?
