The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has explained why he delegated some members of the party to respond to questions posed to him.
According to the former Lagos Governor, he adopted the delegation method “to show team-ship”.

Tinubu spoke at the Chatham House lecture titled: ‘Nigeria’s 2023 elections: In conversation with Bola Ahmed Tinubu’, monitored by The Nation.

At the lecture, Tinubu after his opening remarks, assigned Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai to speak on how his (Tinubu-led) government would address insecurity and asked the Director of Strategic Communication of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Dele Aleke, to respond to the question on oil theft.

Don't bring Wike close to El Rufai when it comes to performance pls, let's forget about the fact that El Rufai is tribalistic but performance wise he was very active both as Minister and Governor, Wike can't match him in that

A 100 likes for this comment. He was the most detribalised leader with the best economic team till date. A man of grit and steel, who exhibited great love for the country through his actions. He played a great in steadying the ship of this country.
Is that how to steady the country despite the massive goodwill he enjoyed from all and sundry? Everyone wanted a fresh and new start for Nigeria; they wanted Nigeria to start achieving its potential after the long military era and the tragic events around June 12. Both inside and foreigners thought at last a new Nigeria was here. They readily forgave our debts and repatriated stolen loot. And all we got was what? A huge keg of gunpowder for the coming leaders to struggle with. A large percentage of uneducated young people which has led to the uncontrollable population explosion of poor and uneducated religious/tribal extremists we have today, sects who finally lost hope in Nigeria and sprang up from different sections of the country over the years, religious narratives ahead of merit in determining our leadership structure, a flawed constitution, flawed foundations in power/electricity generation/transmission/distribution, a skewed census that solved absolutely nothing, electoral do or die culture. Let me not even continue abeg, let's just let sleeping dogs lie.

Buhari not sound in economy, foreign affairs —Obasanjo

“I will tell you what I know and I will tell you what I don’t know. I know Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. He served under me in the military. His characteristics that I know, his behaviour that I know, he has not deviated from them. He was never a perfect man, he is not a perfect man and no leader can ever be a perfect man because they are human beings.

But if you read my book, what I said about him is correct. He is not a hot person when it comes to economy. He is not a very hot person when it comes to foreign affairs. But he will do well in matters of military and he will do well in fighting Boko Haram.”

By the way, why did Tinubu choose Buhari in 2015, four years after assessing him as expired?

Tinubu rules out alliance with CPC

Prospect of a possible alliance between the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN and Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, was dashed yesterday in Kano as the leader of the party and former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu described CPC as parading “expired leadership.”

Tinubu told ACN supporters in Kano during the party’s Presidential rally that: “What Nigerians need now is a transformation in leadership” as obtained in the advanced economy.

The two-term Governor of Lagos State explained that the leadership of ACN was offering Nigeria the brilliance of Nuhu Ribadu who, he said, is in the class of Nicolas Sarkozi of France, David Cameron of Britain, Medvedev of Russia and Barack Obama of the United States of America.

“What has CPC got to offer? We certainly don’t need expired leadership as we are offering the best in terms of brilliance, courage and patriotism in the class of Sarkozi of France, David Cameron of Britain and Barack Obama of the USA.”

Tinubu’s position came on the heels of Ribadu’s declaration penultimate week in Kaduna when he hinted during a political rally of a joint ticket between the two opposition parties to confront the dominance of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The national leader of ACN criticised President Goodluck Jonathan for shying away from the national debate held last Friday, stressing that”that singular act exposed Jonathan as a coward who has nothing to offer.”

Lamba from Baba again. Baba weh deh look for someone who is weak and can easily be controlled and Yaradua was a perfect fit for that hence he settled for him. Baba no say El-rufai can't be controlled like that, reason why he did not back him.
Absolutely spot on. Obasanjo settled for Yar Adua, who was even unknown to most of his fellow Governors at the time, because he was someone OBJ believed was weak, unambitious and controllable by proxy.

Further proof is how OBJ single-handedly selected the 'sit down and know your level' GEJ as VP to Yar Adua because he believed Jonathan would not be an ambitious, troublesome and independent-minded VP to Yar Adua as Atiku was to him

Meaning OBJ's cumulative Machiavellian plot was to have a weak President and unambitious VP, as leaders of Nigeria, he could continue to control and teleguide from his Ota Farm.

Alas, things did not work out for OBJ, desperate for a third term, as planned. Yar Adua unravelled as his own man who could not invest in Obasanjo's lust to control everything and everyone always.

The OBJ and Yar Adua saga , plus GEJ's divine ascension to power, simply shows that God, Karma, providence, or whatever higher power a man believes in, is greater than us all.

We all see where it has landed us. The same you would likely complain about the route Lagos took. Tinubu did not just choose someone he can control for his selfish reasons and it never backfired on him. Instead, he chose people who are smart, goal getters and stickers to the master plan for his state. There's something called patriotism. There's no Lagos governor today that is not well qualified to contest for presidency on merit. We cannot say the same for Yaradua or Mr Luck.

Obasanjo, however, applauded Chidoka, El-Rufai, and others for their “special attributes,” which he said were the driving forces of his government.

Speaking on the theme, the Ota-farmer emphasized character, exposure, experience, and training as the hallmarks of good leadership.
Why not focus on this part where Obasanjo applauded El Rufai’s special attributes that were the driving forces of his government huh

He was smart enough to see the future and the loss of GEJ. He also knew that Nigeria would have likely broken up as GEJ couldn't handle it. This is what he fought for with his life as a soldier when he was younger.

El-Rufai is an ethnic bigot and is not more qualified than Yardua of GEJ to lead a multicultural country like Nigeria.

When he was governor we were always hearing news about religious clashes in southern Kaduna which were largely caused by his inflammatory religious comments...since he left as governor of Kaduna state how many times have you heard news of such religious clashes in Kaduna state?

It is no surprise that even Tinubu passed him up for appointment as a minister in his government because everyone knows that El-Rufai is a political liability!

That is Baba OBJ for you.
He has been a Pillar to NIGERIAN STATES and Masses, though he is Not an Angel.
He see things Ahead- same way OBJ Saw That The Introduction Of Boko haram -By Northerners - when Mr Yesufu-and his gangs came through Borno State and Obasanjo destroyed their Leaders then - Most Of The Northerns were against him but he stood his ground!
- where are the Emirs and Other Traditional Rulers-who were not saying anything then?
Has Bokoham gone from the North Now- because many of them are being accommodated because they Speak Arabic but unknown, they are Nigerian Enemies that came Illegally through the Cameron,Chad,Mali,Niger, etc.
Unfortunately,El-Rufai has not Mature Politically!
Very Sad
