Amad as a WB has generally worked so far this season. The LWB position is where the problem is.

Amorim’s subs have been suspect right from last season.
Giving Amad defensive role is reducing his attacking prowress.Yes LWB has its problem but Amad caused that first goal by not marking the NF header properly.let c how January buy will b.Anyway barring injuries we are making top 4.

Goals will always be conceded. No defence has ever gone a whole season without conceding a goal. That goal does not negate all the other positives playing Amad at WB brings.

Of all the things we have tried this season, Amad at RWB supporting Mbeumo is one of the few things that appears to be working so far. It is very strange for you to be saying it is not working because of a single goal (a goal that really came from Dalot's wing as well).

We didn't even give him a chance to see if he could cope with EPL.

ETH wrecked the club in so many different ways.
.....main reason I always align with your position on our Academy Graduates is; you know far better than rest of us here. Same reason I agree with you that, Mainoo should be loaned out, not sold, cos talent is obviously there.

On a better note, i think Alvaro Fernandez is the real deal.

The way he understands the offensive side of the game as an 18 year old left back is awesome. I really think he's gonna be the heir to Shaw in a few years.
grin

......most saw this as far back as 2021, but ZeroHag saw something different and Glazers agreed with him.

The role Amad is playing in this system is not a defense heavy role.

I expect mass clear out in the summer transfer window.

United must get rid of AWB, Telles, Shaw, Bailly, Maguire at all cost. Get solid replacement for Matic, Mata and Pogba.

We can do with Academy Graduates to cover for RB and LB. Laird can compete with Dalot. Fernandez and Williams can compete for LB.

Pau Torres seems a target, hopefully he's not gonna flop. €20m + Bailly should be a fair deal to get Pau Torres.
grin

.....as far back as 2022, no be today our problem starts.

Emery’s mistake is trying to play out from the back at Anfield. Liverpool’s two goals are a product of intense pressing/ build up mistakes.
We did the same( intense pressing) against Brighton last week but nothing like that happened yesterday

That bros no dey watch our match.

Away from that, I think Cunha and whoever plays RWB (Dalot or Dorgu) would look at the way Mbeumo and Amad attack and create space for each other with good positioning.

Also, I started noticing this against Brighton, teams are double and sometimes triple marking Mbeumo, we really need that Cunha wing to come alive very quickly.

But you didn't just blame Amad for the goal. What you said was that Amad was not working as a WB. It is like saying Saliba is not working at CB because Arsenal conceded a goal from his error or that Haaland is not working at CF because he missed a big chance. You shouldn't compress the overall performance of a player for the season into just one instant.

Like you said, no wahala.

Heaven can hold the LCB down. Shaw still has a good football brain for LWB and will work well with Cunha. the big question though is if he still has the bones.

The answer is that he does not. All of you people suggesting that Shaw be played at LWB are pushing him to where he does not know.

a varied approach has to be tried for a solution.
Dalot seem to have past his best. his form this season and the last have been really poor; and Dorgu doesn't look ready.

It’s okay to try a varied approach. Just know that after 1 or 2 games at LWB Shaw will likely be out for the rest of the season.

These 2 goals halland has scored today.
Sesko in those positions will score them too.

But he won't ever be in those positions cus we don't create those kind of chances

Cunha in those cherki position will rather romance the ball

I know it will break Shaw but watching those terrible twins Dalot and Dorgu is making me feel like I'm suffering from indigestion.

Maz was a doctor at Bayern too and he is a bit too defensive and right footed to boot.

I think the best bet is to suffer in silence with Dorgu until the Jan window or even next summer.

I don’t. I don’t think he has the pace, athleticism, or even the physical health to play that role.

Martinez is aggressive so people think he has pace. He does not. He is actually slow for a small sized CB.

If he plays that role he won’t be able to get back in transition defence. He also will struggle 1v1 when isolated against wingers, which was a major weakness that he had as a CB.

Finally, I am not sure that’s the best role for him after 2yrs of injury go injury come. His body will breakdown.

He is an excellent passer of the ball though, but we have to consider other aspects of the game.

Crying in silence with Dorgu seems to be the best bet for now. With Dalot, the cries are not silent.

Wonderful.

Then it's best we just take whatever we see with the LWBs we have at our disposal.

Let them find one academy boy na. Let's test all of them. One must good.

Amass is 18 and is doing well on loan. Still makes a few mistakes here and there so it’s probably better to keep him there until next season.

Mantato is 17 can also play the role but I don’t think he is defensively secure enough for now. He plays LB for England Under-17 but RW for Man Utd Under-21 and Under-18. He might be better as an Amad sub at RWB next season.

The last option is Jack Fletcher. Left footed CAM but has been playing LB this season. Extremely unlikely for a thousand reasons.

Na to persevere with Dorgu remain. 😂😂😂

The major difference between United last season and this season is that we’re scoring goals. Shikena.

We are not solid defensively at all. Once opponents pressure us, the devilish twins Dalot and Dorgu just fold yamayama.

We’ve conceded the most goals in the top 10.
Long may it continue and by MAY, I want to see this statement extended to top 16.

There is a reason why I said it is extremely unlikely.
He has played LB more than any other player for the U-21s this season though.

🚨 🗣️ Alan Pardew on Manchester United:
“Hopefully, we’ll see a Manchester United that everyone in the country can be proud of again. They’re still the biggest club in the world. I’m not a United fan, but I want to be proud of them; we all want to see a strong Manchester United.”
