So... cheesy

I was cleaning out an old file and found these two beautiful artifacts: a crisp ₦50 and a ₦10 note (total ₦60).

Back when these were in my pocket, ₦60 could actually buy something meaningful:

A first date: Two cold drinks and a comfortable spot to talk for hours.

₦60 was enough to show a woman genuine effort and start a relationship.

This wasn't just money; this was mighty currency! Back then, ₦60 could also pay for transport (not just a bike, the entire flight!).

Better soup, nah 60 naira go run am grin grin

This is 2025 ...

Now, this money can barely buy a sachet of peanut.

..when I look at them, I see something the dollar or the new polymer notes will never have: The Nigerian History and Real Value..

What could you do with 60naira back then? Tell us, I'm curious

Good old days. Naira still had value when we were using these notes. On like today wey Tinubu come turn the thing to tissue paper. Because of the worthless value, it's hard to even see less then ₦100 denominations here.

I still have 25kobo, 50kobo and 1naira coins. Even 1naira note, I have like two of them. I like to collect old monies. I'm now keeping 5naira, 10naira, 20naira and 50naira that I come across.

Yeah I still come across those notes occasionally sha. Not like regular seeing.

I was to give someone ₦200 change, I gave him 2pcs of ₦50 with the rest being 20 and 10 Naira notes. On seeing the money, the guy provoked and said, "what is this!" grin

He returned the money to me with anger. I have to 'para' too and asked him with loud voice, oga..! , na wetin happen? No be Nigeria money? Abi Na me ruined the thing? 😆
