So this is just general Ghanaian frustration over Nigeria winning everything, both African and foreign.

I also saw another video where they were lamenting about how the Ghana movie industry had collapsed after Nollywood blanked their actors for collabo etc.... It's not just music.

I watched the FULL reaction video here and I didn't see any overt hatred for Nigerians by Ghananians because of the Grammy Awards. Matter-of-FACT, the Ghanaians largely gave out constructive criticisms to improve the Ghanain music industry so as to be nominated for the Grammy Awards.

INFACT the 3rd boy who spoke wearing a white singlet and the young man wearing a red "gobi cap" who spoke last in the video are Ghananians who gave constructive criticisms to Ghananians and Ghananian musicians on what to do.

Some of the other young male speakers in the reaction video spoke ignorantly in some places especially one creep with the microphone in front of him who sarcastically said Nigerians went to Shatta Wale's Grammy page and started asking questions about who Shatta Wale is thereby depriving him of being nominated. He also said Nigerians usually vote in large numbers for Nigerian artistes during the Grammy nominations unlike Ghananians.

What did Wiz, Burna and Davido sing compared to their other artiste. Combine all the hit tracks of the three in 24/25, it still cannot flaw the album of an artiste like BNXN.

I think Grammy is seriously looking at songs that are visible in the west and around the world. If you want your song to the visible, you sign to a big American record label or be willing to spend so much money promoting your songs in America. US record labels do this for their artists too.

Nigérian artists spend so much money promoting their songs on billboards and paying DJs to play them on radio and in the clubs in the US. Once they break into the US market, get award nominations, get online streams, get invited to perform or even tour America.

Most musicians apart from those in Nigeria and South Africa don't have the financial capacity to embark on such song promotions. That's why the two countries will dominate and win major awards for a long time. The good thing is that Grammy plans to have Grammy Africa, which will give artists from smaller African countries a voice.

Best African Music Performance
It is new and it is disrespectful

African music is too broad too diverse to be reduced to one award
Because certain categories especially those that don't use English will never win and they will be slowly killed

They have pop ,country, rap, classic , jazz , folk etc in America
They would not accept Best American so why should we accept Best African?

We have even more categories than they do
We have drumming categories alone

All the nominations are electronic
They don't play African instruments

It should be clear to anyone with pride we need our own awards with at least 10 categories

That is my point
