The soldier that made that statement is a complete family man. he cares for his family and understands that as a man, don't do too much of eye service to impress in your job that you probably not getting paid well especially in a country like Nigeria where workers are being paid change for a salary because if anything happen to you, Na your family go suffer.

The Nigerian government over time, with assistance of the NPF degraded the Nigerian Police. It didn't help that Nigeria was led by the military for years but since 1999, they did not regard the police high, that's why see finish don enter. We have heard of so many scandals in the Police so they too don't treat themselves well. The Police is a reflection of Nigeria. How you treat yourself is how others will see you. Just take a look at a typical police barracks and a Naval base or army barracks and you will find out what you need to know.

The officer did the right thing. He didn’t lose his cool, didn’t disrespect his rank, and didn’t abandon his duty. He simply stood on procedure, "Sir, I am acting on orders. If you have a problem, take it up with my superior." That is exactly how discipline works. The military chain of command is not a toy for politicians.

Wike make mouth finish, still turn back. The naval officer is more coordinated. Wike talks too much and I'm very happy the navy guy placed him where he belong. A whole fct minister being ordered back (indirectly) without access..

Wike sounded as though the naval chief called him (Wike) to apologize, whereas, he was the one who called the chief and still didn't get support/response he was expecting..

The events of November 11, 2025, involving the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barrister Nyesom Wike, demand an immediate and serious response. His public disparagement of a uniformed officer of the Nigerian Armed Forces transcends mere misconduct; it represents a palpable threat to national security and institutional integrity.

A minister’s verbal assault on a military officer in uniform is an act of profound indiscipline that strikes at the core of our nation's command and control structure. It deliberately undermines the chain of command, disrespects the authority of the Commander-in-Chief, and grievously wounds the morale of every individual who serves under the Nigerian flag. Such actions erode the very foundation of discipline upon which our national security apparatus stands.

This can not be dismissed as political theatre. It is a reckless endangerment of national order. This action by Wike is clearly an indication of undermining the federal government’s authority.

Consequently, Barrister Nyesom Wike must tender an immediate and unequivocal public apology to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Commander-in-Chief, the entire Armed Forces of Nigeria, and the specific officer whose honour was violated.

Our nation's security must come first. It is time for decisive action, not politics of military bashing. The integrity of our Armed Forces demands nothing less.

Let's address this matter without any form of sentiments.
1. Why were Navy personnel sent to guard a property that doesn't belong to the government?
2. The land supposedly belongs to a retired navy officer who's service ended during Buhari's tenure. What authority does he have to request for active duty officers to secure property for him?
3. The FCDA had first sent their staff to that property seeing that the documents supposedly authorising the sale to the owner weren't duly signed by the appropriate commissioner in charge. Why were they stopped from carrying out their lawful duty?
4. The FCT minister serves at the behest of the president. Why was he impeded from carrying out his lawful assignment?
5. It must be asked at this point, where do the loyalties of the navy lie? With the president? If so, how was a retired navy officer able to give instruction to a serving officer to deploy armed personnel to guard his property?

I am no means a Wike apologist. I think he is too crude and lacks tact but at a time when a rumoured coup was supposedly nipped in the bud, the Navy should not be seen to be answering to the demands of a retired official. Who is it that received that order and acted on it? Was this order carried out with the knowledge of the Chief of naval staff? If yes, that's condemnable. If no, then it calls into question his fitness for the job.

Heads need to roll for this. Wike needs to be sacked as well. He could have handled the matter better instead of embarrassing the president.
