This question will make some people cry, because the percentage of folks that have no one to run to when they need help is way higher.

Just reading the question alone makes me heart bleed. This life is very lonely and painful for lots of folks, especially men.

Another subset of folks are those who are the de facto breadwinner. The only crime they committed was to be successful and to have a good heart, which has attracted all the leeches (aka family members) to feast.

They are between the redline of cutting everyone off and just live solo, or to keep giving to sustain the colonial relationship.

Giving is not even the issue, but such giving has created a permanent dependence, that breaking it will ensue conflict, guaranteed.
