Show good examples in front of your children. The first teachers in this life for children are PARENTS.

Slapping a child in skol is not a disciplinary measure or act.
Before a teacher will get to the point of raising his hand to slap a student I can assure you that he/she has reached his maximum tolerance level with that student!

Very lame excuse.does the slaps on the teacher justify whatever he did to your child?
The one that pained me to my bone marrow was the mother slapping the teacher.
Chai if na me dead body go surplus I swear.
The woman's conduct tells you how useless she is. A responsible woman would never slap a man in presence of your husband. That is the height of shamelessness and disrespect to her husband.

Another 'Wike'd' escape route. The teacher 'displayed arrogance' when you went there 'to settle'. The same teacher we all watched in video begging sorry Sir. Set awon "I never called him a f@@l", when video evidence full ground. You and your wife discended on the poor teacher with reckless abandon. And the only video evidence available in public domain, you are trying to bully the school to take it down.

We dare you to go to court

The lawyer advising the parents is a big foo.l

There is evidence of assault on the teacher by the parents and you feel the teacher have no right to seek criminal prosecution against the parents?

Rather you are seeking CCTV footage of classrooms to help your case? How many schools have CCTV in their class room? Even if they have, they will destroy.

Any sign of bruises in the child body? And if thier is, why not seek remedy via legal means?

Rather you choose to take laws into your hands.

That lawyer refuse to advise properly

The parents' statement flies in the face of logic. Assuming without conceding that the teacher had previously assaulted their child on previous occasions, this defence can only be justifiable if they have records of reporting the issue to the necessary authorities ( i.e. the ministry of education, the police, the school authorities)

Without prior reports of alleged previous assaults it would at the very least appear as if they resorted to self help. Therefore, their acts remain condemnable and actionable.

Re: Abuja Parents Who Slapped Teacher Release Statement by Mike008(m):
Normally that teacher wey dem slap suppose don hammer from these arrogant parents hand.

That "richness" that gave them the audacity to come and assault a teacher in school will be wasted on a lawsuit.

You have lawyers, yet you can boldly flout the law.

"Instead of the principal to restore order" , the order which you the parents disrupted , nobody was disrupting the order except you the parents huh , it's like saying a person destroying a place and blaming the owner of the place for not stopping him but recording him , does it even make sense

Most of those teachers are demons. They are frustrated!

And the principal recording the incident and posting same online is so unprofessional.
But the parents acted professionally abi , because your teachers were demons doesn't mean everybody had demons for teachers

All three parties, Principal,Parent and Teacher are wrong on this occasion.
The one, I am much concerned about is the role of the principal.
This matter should never have gotten to this stage, you are not just a figure head, you are your school's first representative and its leader.

To allow this incident escalate in the first point to this stage shows a lack of understanding of the basic roles you are to fulfill as a principal.

Its a shame for me.

There is a reason we have a school counsellor, behaviour assessment for both teachers and students.
Conflict resolution and legal and constructive means to enforce obedience and correction.

This matter has been ongoing for a while as it seems.

All parties here are wrong and the principal sorry to say, is to be blamed.

For context, I worked in a school where issues regarding teachers and students conflict are handled by the school counsellor after a proper investigation and the information has been passed to the principal herself who is always an active part of the investigation.

There are always constructive and better means to go around this things.

One Gen-Z mother up there said a teacher dares not beat her child in order to correct the child, but rather report to the parents. Well, if I were your child's teacher, I will do neither. It's not my duty to report your almighty child to you.
You sef see am
I just look and pass.
My 2yrs son sef still chop spanking this afternoon, his crime was beating me because I said stop it.
So I continued to reciprocate his gesture till he cried and left me to meet his bro to continue same, because that one was smiling, I told the brother to also reciprocate the energy, at the end, he cried loud and left us.
Anyone wey no like am, when e reach their turn, make dem do as dem like, pikin wey parents and teachers no fit train, government (police and soldiers) or society miscreant go eventually train am

They slapped the teacher in front of their son. That's a bad foundation to lay. I actually suspect that the child is very notorious at school. You see many of these private schools ehn. If you value your mental health, don't teach there. In as much as some teachers can be bullies, many of the students themselves bring some horrible behaviors that would make you question if he or she actually has parents

Poor man and him pikin dey really dey suffer for this country.

But then again, with these types of parents,it's very crystal clear that our society is already in problem...

Reminds of one scenario I witnessed myself.....Saw the mother of a pupil with Cain on her way to her child's school, to flog a teacher who disciplined her child......Omoh,na once I weak...but deep down,I said to myself that this isn't the right way to go....

No one has any right to beat another person's child, especially not the teacher. You either report the child misconduct to the parents, to discipline their child by themselves. If you as a teacher raise a hand on my child, I will come for you with everything I got. I pay you money to teach my child knowledge, not to beat them. If you can't handle children without beating them, then you are no fit to be a teacher. You can beat your own children the way you like, don't beat mine!
Then tell your child not to push me either , if e push me I go beat am and if you come defending him/her I go beat you join
