This wraps up the player of the year conversation in my opinion. Chawinga could probably have remained in the conversation if she had won the NWSL title. Now that KC Current are out of contention and Esther has been having a fantastic playoff run with her team now in the final, she's undisputed in my opinion.
But wait..!
What did Chawinga do with Malawi 🇲🇼??

Esther won WAFCON with Nigeria as the team Star player with 2goals and 7 assists and also made the team of the tournament..!

Won the NSL 🇨🇦 shield and also made the team of the season with the highest number of assists as well…

Now in the final of the Championship..

What more does Esther need to win to be favourite??

PSG weren't that bad.

Assuming the coach took out Echegini earlier because the middle was leaking seriously, he might have gotten a draw.

If den score you first and you later equalize, in away game, with opponent pressing relentlessly through the middle, you will need 2 DMs to hold the game, though it'll be harder to score

He later corrected the error but by then it's too late

Even in their league they’re still struggling to beat the average teams.

The Coach isn’t good enough, they still have a few top and experience name in the team, the Coach just need to find a way to get the team going…

First he was playing 3-5-2 with Ajibade as ring wing back.. one of his mistake from onset.

Gift Monday has really grown as a player. Been very impressed watching her play. Hoping the coke out victorious in the finals.

Esther Okoronkwo's AFC Toronto sadly lost the Finals yesterday. This however has no bearing on her case for Player of the year. She's still no 1 in my book.

With Esther missing out, it's safe to say Chebbak may just win it. Still hope Ajibade does but if those who voted didn't consider Esther as their top 3, then one can't trust their judgement to pick Ajibade as winner.

With all the brouhaha going on with the Super Eagles, I'm praying hard that the wave of bad luck consuming our national teams doesn't do serious damage on the Super Falcons.

I don't think my heart could take it if the Super Falcons don't make it to the 2027 World Cup. 😔

It has already affected the falcons. Since when did we start drawing to Benin at any level in womens footballhuh? If things dont change soon Nigerian football both Male and Female will die a painful death.

Yes the game is improving but It’s affecting already, Imagine Super Falcons drawing with Benin here in Nigeria 🇳🇬.

The only advantage Nigerian is having right now is the talent pool and player exposure we have more than the other Countries..

Why wasn’t Okoronkwo nominated in top 3 ?
Anyway
Congrats in advance Ajibade
Chebbak may just nick it, Morocco bias is obviously strong in CAF politics today because they’re the one saving CAF’s buttt in terms of sports infrastructure
Morocco are possibly favourites for next WAFCON, their last chance in this period to win it
Okoronkwo this season is better than the other names on there
This is not good, playing politics instead of merit based award
