No Kobojunkie:It wasn't robbery. It is called repossession. Remember that ownership is sometime different from possession so the guys want to reclaim his properties from his ex girlfriend, probably he must have receipts or invoice of what he bought for her So if she calls police, na whose name dey for receipts or who paid from his or her account is owner. It is same kind of story you people were saying for sending transport to a girl and later she refused ro come and refused to refund the money. Then police say it is a fraud case - obtaining with false pretense. you people didn't agreed. The matter was taken to court two times, courts ruled and awarded huge claims against the girls who received transport money but didn't show. Nigerian men are wiser now, |

Kobojunkie:you don talk your own, e sweet for your mouth. Did you know the circumstances under which the items were given to the girl? The key offence is “obtaining property by false pretence.” Under the Criminal Code, a person commits this offence when they get money or property from someone by making a false claim they know isn’t true, and they intend to deceive the other person. For this scenario, the law would apply if the guy can show that: 1. She made a false statement — for example, claiming she loved him while knowing she didn’t. 2. She made that statement to get the gifts. 3. He relied on that statement when giving the gifts. 4. She intended to deceive him from the start. If he can prove those things, then the girl will even pay for emotional damage join. |

1Alex:Let's pretend for a second that what you posted somehow applies in this case, where in what you have above does it state that the person who was defrauded in that case is allowed to violate trespassing laws and other criminal codes in an attempt to retrieve or claim said property? ![]() |

Kobojunkie:Which legal implications? when many guys deliberately buy those things in their name and reserve the receipt. What evidence have you that it rightly belongs to you? Even the car people have seen you driving everyday, if a legal case happens and you can't prove ownership, it will be taken away from you. Nigerian law is still at the level of providing strong evidences, words of mouth (except recorded and verified) or assumptions may not win you a case here!! From the law you quoted, what "proven" assurances or agreements can she provide that will show the gift is unconditional ![]() |

Kobojunkie:From the law you quoted, what "proven" assurances or agreements can she provide that will show the gift is unconditional? Legal battles are not straightforward as you see written on paper. A good lawyer will claim conditions of "as far we are dating", the gift is yours. When it's not written down anywhere, he may not prove it, and she can't prove otherwise, so what happens? Exercise in futility! If she even cheated in the course of the relationship and if the guy proves it as a fact, another legal technicality will come in. |

One of the reason it's very bad to be fully providing for a lady that one is yet marry even the ones that's inside marriage already do Bleep up how much more person thats one is yet to marry.if the guy follow the lady drags it she won't release the properties now that this had happened i think the lady can only take her loads back if those things are bought in her name means na her name dey on the receipts |

Kobojunkie:Well if the aim of relationships is for mutual benefits and sex isn't suppose to be part of the bargain cause it's not a tool of exchange but of mutual consent. Although it takes maturity to move on without trying to be petty in relationships but my own point of view is this: don't give what you can't give away without feeling too much impact on the gift. Giving my wife my strength and resources is a must but relationship/dating is more elite testing waters to see if couples are fit to marry themselves. It's not the place to put so much more than what you can freely give |

eventainment:For you, those relationships may be just that, but for women many of whom end up investing time, emotional, mental, and physical energy in addition to bearing much of the mental load that is the relationship, it is more than that and as such there is need for them to ensure they at least benefit something from the exchange. ![]() Again, I suggest that for those of you who think a wife alone should get gifts from you, please stick to patronizing pr0stitutes since you also seem to be amenable to their demands for strict payment for their time and physical energy. ![]() |

If you don't want him or her anymore, isn't it natural for you to return their stuff? You dont like a plate, but you like the food served on the plate. It doesn't work that way. If I were in her shoes, I would personally have returned the things he bought for her to avoid any embarrassment or stories that touch. Was it during or after the relationship that she found out he is a yahoo boy? ![]() |

Kobojunkie:You stand on the side of common sense? And common sense didn't tell her that if you dump your boyfriend, that the honourable thing to do is to return the proceeds of whatever you acquired from such a relationship? You don't beat a child and tell him how NOT to cry. The guy has gotten his items back by his own means, since the girl refused to relinquished them. Let her take your advice, do the commonsensical thing and sue the guy to Court . Abi na only men dey reserve the privilege of common sense? |

Afriifa:Why insult Is your mouth bigger than anyone's Is your own insult from Jupiter The issue here is process not whether he is entitled to get back what he believes to be his This is self help by force What ud the law with regard to the process? If for any reason you go to a bank where you have one billion and they don't honour your cheques can you gather boys to enter the bank to take your money by force? What if that girl or person in that position has their own boys and there is a fight? That would be seen as armed robbery What Mr loverboy has done is Robbery Under our law if robbery involves violence it is treated like armed robbery and carries a death penalty Many people talk with ignorance of law If you enter a person's property without their consent that is trespass, in this case breaking and entry even if you are the one paying the rent |

donbenie:This is not about suing him she should report him to the police for robbery This is a case of Criminal trespass Breaking and Entry Robbery with force, violence or threat of violence which in our law is same as armed robbery Maximum penalty death In this case minimum of 10 years imprisonment |
