I am sorry to say this to ya face. I can't date a broke man.
Can't respect a man that's not earning more than me. Reality has proven money's the engine if love so don't preach to me.

What will be used in taking care of my skin, my needs and all the stuff? The answer is money.
It's an aberration for a man to approach someone richer than him.
That's why it's good to do profile check before dating.
A times if numbers weren't given out after sizing the guy's destiny they d say she's rude, she's bla bla bla yenyenyen.
Who nor like better thing?
When there are eligible Bachelors like Paddy Adenug, Okoyya boys, Dantalta family, Danghote family and co to marry from.
Abeg make no sapahead boy disturb me today. I am not responsible for ya hardship. Make you you make legit money before you impregnate or marry any woman.

I pray you won't fall victim of ritualist that we use 'someone's own money or resources to host or entertain them'.

What happened to you hustling??

Must you date before you can eat and take care of your skin? You can be a hardworking woman instead of waiting for one rich man or you said you can’t respect a man you earn more than, that means if you earn more than your father, you’ll disrespect him??

You just proclaimed yourself as a certified ’treasure hunter’, congrats 🤝 🎊

If God didn’t create men, you wouldn’t take care of your skin or make your hair. Keep waiting for a rich man, you don’t know like attracts like and no man wants to be with a lady that has this kinda thoughts. You better delete this before I post it on your wedding day. grin

Aunty be calming down.

U are right and also very wrong.

I and my wife were bankers when we got married. Her salary was more than mine even till date and even when I left the bank to join a federal job.

But my side income brings in 40 to 50million per annum. If I had wanted to keep this a secret my wife wouldn't know.

So,salary isn't everything aunty. Love first and family goal is key to marriage and not ur skin and those things u just mentioned there.

ironically,I don't collect my wife's salary and in fact,I encourage her to save and invest towards retirement.

You said OP is right and wrong, but did not clarify any of this in your comment. undecided

Your wife is lucky that, in your case, things turned out better than they were when she first met you. However, for the vast majority of women out there who married men who earned less at the time, the reality did not turn out the same. That is partly the reason why almost 50% of married women in Nigeria today are breadwinners. Of the others who were not breadwinners, many of them who were not able to attain financial independence before marriage(and maintained it in marriage), a large portion are financially abused by their spouses in marriage. undecided

What OP expressed is a preference many women have, and there is nothing wrong with their choice. Additionally, that choice is facilitated when the woman is financially independent before and throughout the course of the marriage, as we are all aware that even rich men can be stingy towards their own wives and children. undecided

Kobojunkie:
Are women not meant to wear bras they bought 5 years ago? Heck, I still have underwear from about 10 years ago myself. 🥱🥱🥱

If you keep your clothing well, you have no reason to get rid of them just because some other person don't have the simple skills to care for his own clothes/underwear. 🥱🥱
The underwear 👇

How come you think that because your 5-year-old underwear looks like that therefore everyone else's ought to look the same? 😷😷

Those people you mentioned don’t marry from poor family or gold diggers they only marry from rich families to form alliances and to build empire which poor family can’t connect.

➜The post should read ' I would not marry a man poorer than I am'. You are poor that is why you are looking for a man to live off from. It is majorly the poor ones that have this mentality. They see a man as the escape route out of their poverty because they are not productive enough to make the kind of money to give them the life they want to live.
My pity for the men that would go for these kind of ladies because they really do not have much to offer you. Men loose more doing life with these kind of ladies.
Did you also know that it is poor men who complain about women from poor backgrounds being able to marry into rich homes? Yeah! 🥱🥱🥱

A woman can only marry a man who wants to marry her, so if a rich man wants to marry a woman from a poor background— something that happens more often than not— why try to shame the woman for this? undecided

This isn't what the discussion is about.
I had to delete my post because when I read it, I realized I came too strong in addressing it.
I really do not take those kind of people serious.

My sister, I hear your pain and frustration, but let me explain something about our ways.

In our culture, dating is not about one person taking over the financial responsibility that belongs to your father. Your father is the one tasked by tradition and law to train you, care for you, and provide for you until the day he gives you out in marriage.
If you want another man to financially "train" you as if he is your father. You are turning relationship into a transaction, not a partnership. Our traditions honor a partnership built on respect, character, and shared vision not just on an account balance.
The Paddy Adenuges and Dangotes you mentioned often built their wealth through years of struggle with a supportive partner by their side, not by waiting until they were already rich to find a wife.

Not only coworkers, I respect everyone equally and generally, not until they touch the tiger’s tail and they see operation python dance, because that’s what respecting the wrong people does sometimes, it leads to disrespect.

With the instance of siblings, if you happen to have younger ones, I’m sure you respect them, but you don’t submit to them. On the contrary, it is expected they submit to you, by the order of parents and society.

Also junior coworkers submit to senior coworker’s authority. Likewise junior students are at the mercy of senior students. Any sign of disobedience will be tagged unruliness.

What all of this is telling me is that you know for a fact that Respect IS NOT same thing as submission or loyalty, yet earlier you attempted to convince us that you didn't know this and assumed them to be all one and the same. And I am wondering why you felt the need to waste your time and mine? Why? huh

Not even a lady that earns more than her because it will be a hard but because no woman ever accepts she has money whether they have or not men aren't necessarily the beneficiaries of women's money. When u see q more pretty woman you dump her since she is a a call girl and has been paid for her service each night, in so doing you have plenthora of beautiful ladies at your disposal.

Only prostitute respect men as long as men paid them for the night
