1• Rita Akarekor 🇹🇿
2• Comfort Erhabor 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
3• Medinat Lawal 🇺🇸
4• Cynthia Akwasi 🇰🇿
5• Onyinyechi Okeke 🇮🇱

Edna Imade Commits International Future To Spain, Ends Nigeria’s Pursuit.

Spain 🇪🇸 has secured Edna Imade's international future after naming her in their UEFA Women’s Nations League Final squad. The 25-year-old was also eligible to play for Nigeria 🇳🇬 and Morocco 🇲🇦, but will now be permanently tied to Spain under FIFA eligibility rules.

For Nigeria and Morocco, her selection marks the loss of a highly regarded prospect who had been seen as a long-term attacking asset.
It’s surprising that no one(Technical Team) saw the potential or took the initiative to follow up.

Don't we have a good scout or something?

In fairness to the NFF, Edna had not broken into the Spotlight until she joined Granada, But again if she had been capped at the time she came out wanting to play for Nigeria. Most fans would have had an uproar but again it would have been the best way to get the players…

Once they spot the talent, cap them down as early as possible, if they hit the gear fine for us, if they don’t it’s the players own loss…

We also had Chioma Okafor during the last WAFCON but Madugu refused to cap her even for 1 minute just to captie her, giving us baseless reasons. Na we dey do ourselves my brother.

She recovered before the South Africa and Morocco game so why wasn’t she given at least a minute to tie her down?

Are we playing a friendly match ? Is she messi or Ronaldo ? She's not even better than Monday....NFF have tried by taking her to a major tournament even when she's not fit if that's not enough to convince her she can go play for malawi

I like how I’m seeing post of people not even rating Chioma Okafor right now…

The future is here already! Thanks to her going pro by January…

Same thing was said about Esther Okoronkwo sometime ago and was even compared with Moroccan 🇲🇦 Tigernut girl😂😂

Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 11:03am On Nov 25, 2025
I know all of you here ain’t aware that the highly rated Attacking Midfielder Celine Ottah was out with ACL injury since 2024… she recently returned to play August this year and her minutes are still limited as she’s still recovering…

At least Randy Waldrum will definitely take good care of her at Pittsburgh. She’s one talent I’m hoping on to hit high level..

Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 1:34pm On Nov 25, 2025
Anyways i like what Sweden 🇸🇪 did with Evelyn Ijeh, they just capped her down for the future, even if she doesn’t get the chance with the main team for now but they already know she belongs to them for the future sake..

You will surely eat your words very soon, just because she was still in College! 2026 is here.

Same Chioma Okafor that has one of the most powerful weapon in the Women’s game.

Right now the Super Falcons do not have her type in the team, A fast striker with top speed, Strength and agility to outrun defenders..

Chioma is going to be one Weapon the Super Falcons will rely on in the future just as Racheal Kundananji, Barbra Banda and the Chawinga Sisters..
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by isan(m): 7:31pm On Nov 25, 2025
I'm not saying she's not talented but she hasn't done anything in the game yet .....I also said NFF have done their best by trying to make her commit to falcons and in my own opinion NFF has done enough but if chioma think otherwise she can go play for malawi and also she's not better than Monday right now

I will replace Cynthia Akwasi on the list with the NJIT (New Jersey Institute of Technology) keeper, Mojisola AYODELE
She is a senior and currently playing NCAA D1.
5’9” and quite solid.

Will actually pick her over Medinat and rank her as #3, with Comfort Erhabor as #2 behind Nnadozie.

Sorry I missed Ayodele name and there are about 3 more young goalies in the NCAA D1 of Nigeria Decent which I can’t remember their name now..

She graduated already and set for pro!

Those were the ones I could mention and I didn’t arrange them in any order.. I’m a big fan of tall goalkeepers and with the little have seen her do bye the stick she should be given a chance to showcase what she can offer.. I remember Ayodele also played in the USL league in the US a bridge between College and Professional Soccer..

But she’s not of Nigerian heritage only as we also have to take note that She’s Capable of playing for 3 different Countries, Nigeria 🇳🇬, Cape Verde 🇨🇻 and Portugal 🇵🇹

There’s no way this girl can’t be among the Back ups for Chiamaka Nnadozie.

Good height, commanding presence in the Box, excellent reflexes and very good in the Air.

This again shows how important the quality of one's relationship and network is. When it became increasingly obvious that getting a gig in Europe wasn't working, the next best move would have been for these girls to pivot to college in the US. Pretty sure they wouldn't have a challenge getting a top program to sign them on. They have a better chance at success going that route and it's unfortunate no one in thier circle proposed that to them. And if they did it is unfortunate they didn't heed that advice.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by lovewins: 4:29pm On Nov 26, 2025
The college route isn't always easy particularly for kids who grew up in abject poverty and whose vision is shortsighted. The easy route is to sign a professional contract to earn money as fast as possible, but it isn't always the best way to go.

I bumped into "a day in my" life video Chioma Okafor did for her UCONN Instagram page and was shocked to learn she has 3 jobs in college asides rigour her studies require and of course her football program.

I of course thought about why she needed to juggle 3 jobs while she was in college, and while I am yet to find an answer, I was even more impressed with how dogged and motivated she was to attain success. Now she's done with that chapter of her life with a great education and a very high likelihood of getting a professional contract soon.

That's even more puzzling. You'll notice I said I was yet to find an answer for why she needed to do that though the logical conclusion to reach would be that she needed to juggle those jobs for financial reasons.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AkinDS: 5:04pm On Nov 27, 2025
Agree.
Also, not every one is cut out for college education, as college life could be very challenging, especially with getting good grades to maintain a scholarship.
Unfortunately, IF some of these young ladies didn't have the right foundational training, they will have a tough time getting into a top D1 school which would boost their marketability and being picked up by a good club. The import of a good D1 school is highlighted by a real good player, Esther Okoronkwo, who couldn't get into a 'good' club and had to take the 'nomad' route to get to where she is today.

Not surprised.
I never rated either of them that high and not shocked by where they currently are.
As the old adage goes: water always finds its level.

This was a part of my consideration as I mused on this. I however do not believe the academic rigour college demands as much of a challenge. D1 athletic programs typically require average 2.0 GPA to keep their scholarship. This isn't a tough ask and in my opinion an achievable by most Nigerian athletes considering all this will require of them is 100% attendance in classes plus active participation in class exercises and assignments. My point is, the grading system in an American college environment isn't so punitive that a 2.0 GPA will become unachievable to someone who subscribes to this discipline.

The biggest challenge for me is if they have the needed discipline this undertaking will require of them, and anyone who quite frankly doesn't will also not succeed professionally as both pursuit required near equal amount of discipline to attain success

It still could be financial reasons, I'm just saying her parents are doing well in Malawi.

I totally agree. That's why I always give Debbie Abiodun her props. It's not easy at all.

I also agree about making it to a professional level. U basically have to be at an all American level to get a look at the NWSL, especially as a foreigner.

🚨 Remember that legendary Super Falcons goalkeeper Precious Dede

💼 She has now been appointed the Women’s Football Development Manager for the West Africa Football Union Zone B (WAFU-B).

🎉 Congratulations to an icon of Nigerian football and the greatest Super Falcons goalkeeper until the arrival of Chiamaka Nnadozie..

I just want to say here that Precious Dede was the best SuperFalcons goalkeeper until Chiamaka Nnadozie arrived…

Ann name was typically sounding more because she was the first falcons goalkeeper and also her story of playing with a 3 months pregnancy if not she was nowhere close to Precious Dede…

Dede also lasted long in the team with 99caps because there was some difficulty in replacing her as she was to retire after the 2014 WAFCON as Ibubeleye Whyte was tagged her replacement but didn’t live up to the billing as she was shaky btw the sticks so Dede had to play the 2015 World Cup before retiring..

I would have even picked Tochi as well if she was consistent in terms of getting call up as she was Dede no.2 then and also pushed Dede a lot for a starting spot and sometimes didn’t get call up because of her proactiveness..!!
I think she’s one player that always speak up when it matters…

Alaba Jonathan would have been that very good short goalkeeper if she had stayed in the game for long.. Was 3rd choice behind Dede and Tochi from 2011 then in 2016 became 1st choice then fell down to 3rd again in 2019 which was the rise of the Almighty Chiamaka Nnadozie..

Are we going to ever get 3 top goalkeepers in the SuperFalcons squad at a go??
