Female Friends Want Me To Drink During Every Meetup. by kpankpangolo(op): 2:34pm On Nov 27, 2025
What is this about? I am on a health journey. I’m trying to live to my seventies. Every time there is a female during our social gatherings, the first question is “why aren’t you drinking?” They then proceed to order me a beer. From age twenty to fifty, the same response.

Is there an orientation I didn’t learn?

Bro! ... Some people find it unfathomable that the same things that rock their boat don't rock yours.. they just are unable to believe you're ok without somethings...

They attribute it to a cold feet or that you can't afford it, or that you're judging them inside...

The question is this bro.. Are you able to stand your ground in the face of pressure?

This is true. I find it funny how the sentiment is strong despite generational differences. Gen X to Gen Z, the same belief that men should consume alcohol.

They attribute it to a cold feet or that you can't afford it, or that you're judging them inside...
Neither cold feet nor thinking I can’t afford it. Likely their fathers, uncles and brothers consume alcohol so every other man should. Judging them? They drink light alcoholic beverages. Most times just malted drinks.

The question is this bro.. Are you able to stand your ground in the face of pressure?
Without a doubt. Many times I educate them on the benefits of taking an alcohol hiatus. They then taste the juices I order and grab one for takeout.

If I like her a lot, I accept the beer to let peace reign. I won’t die from a beer or three.

Do not drink. I repeat, do not drink. There are different ways of people having access to you,

1. Direct Access: they use force or show you directly what they want to do to you.

2. Indirect Access: they go through others or weaken you.

What is happening to you is Number 2. What you should learn from history is that women have always been used by men to seduce men to get them. That's why men must be very careful around women. Even the most powerful military man, a young woman can bring him down. Be careful around women.

Now, men or women, it doesn't matter. As a person, be careful what you let into your mouth. If you can do this successfully, you can live for long. From time immemorial, people have been kpai-d through the mouth. During our days they tell us

1. Never take a drink you did not see them open in front of you.
2. If you open your drink and leave, do not go back to that drink.
3. Never drink outside. That's the safest. Because for number 1/2, the evil people can still put something in your drink, seal it and make it look like new. I saw a recent video where someone injected drugs into a sachet drink or bottle water. You can't trust no one, even yourself. If you forget, throw it away.
4. Do not let anyone have access to your food.

Food poisoning is real and the oldest form of kpaing people. Unfortunately, in Nigeria they do not really bother about autopsy so if you die, it will just be left in the realm of speculation.

Have you read or listened to 50 Cent? He pretends to drink but never drinks. He says he needs to know who's lying and who's telling the truth. If he's drunk, he will lose guard. That's Street Sense. Hard guy, hard guy, but the guy was smart enough to know when and where to do certain things. For survivors of food poisoning, only the one who doesn't drink or eat the evil offering is alive to tell us their escape story.

Guard your mouth in two ways. One, what comes out of it. Two, what goes into it. Good luck!

Wrong.

Respect is not what you earn, it's what you do. Your no is NO. Respect yourself first before others respect you. How you treat yourself is how others will treat you. That's how you teach boundaries, that's where they start to learn where the red line is.

You are changing who you are because you want someone to reciprocate. Mary J Blige once said,

Take Me As I Am Or Have Nothing At All.

I don't need you to be a hooligan or someone who doesn't learn from others but certain things are called PRINCIPLES. I don't drink is I don't drink. If you can't respect that, you don't deserve me. Love yourself first bro.

You’re the only one talking about poisoning here. I’m talking about mindset. One cannot be always on guard. If you don’t filter your friends, one of them will eventually get you.

50 Cent doesn’t drink or smoke. Not everyone builds the habits. He used to binge on cocaine. He probably does today.

If a man can date women aged eighteen to sixty, how old do you think he is?

Just respond. It's not an attack. When I read your post, I initially thought you were almost 70, then I read again. So tell me. Because some people married women older than them so dating 18-60 does not automatically make you a 60+ person.

You contributed to the thread. That is good enough.

just be in the present after all you might not live up to 70s .

a lot of people plan for the inevitable future without being in the moment not knowing at all any moment they could be gone.

Good advice. Many people who live to old years had no secret. They were only lucky. I don’t believe in only luck, I’m adding preparation to it.

You are welcome. No health practitioner will give you "health" advice without knowing your age or history. Good luck on your journey.

there is no such thing as luck after all the universe does not operate on wishes.

a lots of people lived till 70s because of certain lifestyle. people in rural areas tend to live till they are 70 more than people in urban areas.

I want to agree with you on this. My father died at the age of seventy four. He didn't drink nor smoke. He ate only his food. He hardly took fruits even though he was a farmer because he believed things like that were junks. However, his elder sister who drank palm wine and took tobacco died about sixteen years after the death of my father. She would drink and even fell down but she lived long. She was almost hundred years of age when she died

People can't force you to do what you don't intend to do. Just tell them you don't drink alcohol. Nobody will beat you

And the stupid question most ask is "how do you catch fun if you don't take alcohol?"

I am like must I drink before I can catch fun?

There's luck but I agree with you that wisdom to survive the world is not mere 'luck'.
There's a YouTuber who asks on his channel the secrets of living old. I don't often hear luck. If they say luck, it's their spiritual way of saying Thank you to God but they don't downplay deliberate decisions they made in life.

I am of the school of thought that God is the owner of life and we cannot totally control everything that happens... Nonetheless when one desire or aim to live long then you need to take several precautions on what you do and what to do...that is you must be intentional and deliberate with respect to taking care of yourself given the available scare resources.

Taking care of yourself mentally, psychologically, physically, spiritually and otherwise ...for example a dude who refuse to take care of his physical health, drinks ogogoro incombination with smoking kolos without eating every morning on an empty stomach is risking his life...

Food is a foundation you need before any other thing goes in except water otherwise you are playing with your life.

I have witnessed individuals saying eating in the morning....i mean breakfast are for kids, can u I imagine, as how now, there is a reason is called breakfast ...infact dont miss breakfast, lunch and Dinner and if you feel like eating inbetween eat, especially breakfast and Dinner..you expend strength/energy even when you sleep that's why you can just wake up and feel hungry, you hardly fall sick easily when you eat healthy and satisfactorily.

As for me I hate hard high volume of alcoholic drink, Cool Red wine and Fresh Palm wine is okay for me.

I’m here again on a Friday, waiting for a female friend. We haven’t seen each other since university days. I’ll update the thread later whether or not she’ll ask me to drink alcohol. For now, I’m with a pack of yoghurt sipping the evening away.

We’re back to square one. For all the women claiming to be unique, they really aren’t. It seems they all share one brain.
