Hello good people in the house Pls I am new on this forum and I have two questions to ask 1) like how many pounds can we budget for a mother and infant of 1yr old to be spent for 7days holiday visit to u.k? 2) Can we use flight reservations booking from any African airways to apply for visa, because I find out that African airlines are the cheapest ?e.g Kenya airways, royal moruk airline e.t.c. I hope it's not compulsory that it must be British airways before they can grant visa |

Goodluck70000:1. Budget is relative and varies based on each person's circumstances. Someone getting free accommodation will spend lesser than someone covering all aspects of their trip. Audit your profile, run the numbers and decide your budget. Budget = flights + accommodation + transportation + meal + cost of planned activities + miscellaneous 2. You don't need a flight reservation for a UK visit visa. In fact, it doesn't influence the outcome of your visa. However, if you insist on getting one, you can use a reservation from any airline of your choice. Good luck. |

Please help! I want to invite my Aunty to my graduation in January, I'm sponsoring her, how much do I need to have as pof? Also, she' s saparated from her husband for years and now she wants to do international passport, her NIN bears her maiden name, does she have to answer her husband's name in her international passport? She is applying as a married woman because there no official divorce letter or document. Meanwhile she has kids bearing her husband's name which would be included in the application for hometies. Can she do a passport with her maiden name and still claim married? |

Hi giselle237, Please advise. i am assisting a friend with a visa application and here is the challenge i am having . His six months salary account has an opening balance of about 8M. and closing of 13.9. . The accumulation from 8M to 13.9M is self explanatory bcoz it shows only salary deposits. How would he explain the opening balance. or should i ask him to print a year statement to show source of opening balance |

ChiomaMC:It's not a problem. Not all married woman use their husband's surname. Many married women use their maiden name for years and some never adopt their husband's surname. |

kpiper2473:In current times, the person’s travel history, investments, assets, property and home ties should match the millions. You have monthly salary of 2-3m, your life should show it and not just bank account. If it is real, their personal circumstances would make any explanation plausible. If not, UKVI will know it is made up and all done to obtain the visa and will deny the individual. |

Please, can someone confirm whether VFS keeps the physical passport of visa applicants? Someone said they did their biometrics at Ikeja today and the passport was returned to them, and that the e-visa would be sent by email. |

Good day all. Pls i got a mail saying "we are unable to process your application and reach a decision within the published timelines" then they listed several reasons as the possible cause of delay including; verification of documents, too many applications being processed, more information required, etc. However they also stated that they are still working on it and will contact me if they need further info. It is a Standard Visitor Application for 6 months that was submitted exactly 2 weeks ago today so its not even up to the 15 working days they stated. Has anyone come across this situation pls? |

Goodluck70000:Mr. Onile, you've been told severally that no one can determine this for you. Your budget will depends on your preferred airline, type of hotel, tourist sites, and more. However, you can target a range of £1200 – £2000 for 7 days. Importantly, the funds available to you must be sufficiently and significantly above the cost of your planned travel, else, you risk a rejection. Meanwhile, in your last question, you requested a budget for a mother and her infant. Now, you're back with a budget request for a businessman.🤔🧐 |

Hi guys, I need advice on this situation: This is about me actually (not a friend). My graduate visa is running out soon, and I intend to do the FLR under private life or whatever convenient option, just to gain more time in the country. However, I have been seeing people talk about how if you finally get a visa sponsorship job during the process, and apply for your SW visa, then they will refuse you on the basis that you have applied for two conflicting processes. Firstly, that the graduate visa does not have any option of extensions, and the reason you have given them seems to be in contradiction to what you're now applying to. I know it sounds confusing (me too), so that's why I've brought it here to get a cleaner version of this story. I know for sure that I have not seen anyone granted the FLR, especially for single people with no personal or family ties whatsoever to the UK. So, I was discussing with a friend and he opined that if that is the case, then one can cancel the FLR application just before they put in for the SW visa application. Does this fly? Is there someone who can throw more light on the role of the section 3C concept in this case? I'd like to put in for the FLR and I am hopeful that the jobs that I've just interviewed for will come out positive. I have follow-up questions ![]() Thank you, guys. I'll be in the comments. PS: My visa runs out in January 2026. |
