But shortly after, one of the fundraiser coordinators, Sir Dickson, announced that he and another volunteer doctor were stepping away from handling her case. According to him, doctors advised that she undergo a blood transfusion to stabilise her levels before chemotherapy, but she refused on religious grounds as a Jehovah’s Witness.

He added that her church members reportedly warned she would be disfellowshipped if she accepted blood, while some family members allegedly insisted that “whatever happens is God’s will.” He said that while her belief is respected, they cannot continue leading a fundraiser where the patient is rejecting the ideal treatment that could save her life.

Religion is a DISEASE!

Imagine REJECTING a recommended lifesaving medical procedure because it's against the tenets of a religion devised by people when the peak of medical knowledge was amputation and leeching.

Pure MADNESS!

You are sick with cancer and you're rejecting the treatments recommended by Medical Professionals while saying "whatever happens is god's will."

Yet same people will tell you that NOTHING happens without God's approval. So the medical innovation that led to blood transfusion is inherently God's will too.

But because it's not being manifested through Pulpit BANDITS, you are discounting it.

Religion is a KILLER!

What this lady is doing is NOT different from a suicide bomber who blow himself up with the promise of 72 virgins—both of them will die in VAIN.

The worst part of all this that the Religious Leaders of this people would be on the first flight to Europe if they do much as cough funny.

My cousin lost his life in a similar circumstance. He was the sole male child in the family and the youngest among seven older sisters.

Little wonder the 2 fundraisers had to stand down from her matter since she was selective of her treatment due to her religious proclivity.

She may not survive cancer chemotherapy without correcting the anemia as the treatment would further worsen the anemia in most instances.

It's a tough call

These pastors and churches that advise against medical treatment need to be closed down and the perpetrators arrested. Lagos needs to do something urgently about this issue.

Do I really feel much sympathy for her? No really. For years, she has been so insensitive to other people's plight. She won't definitely get the blood transfusion for sure. Witness prefer to die instead of going against their religion. They purposely married in the church to strengthen their beliefs in times like this.

Religion would cage your mind in a box then fill the box with toxic materials like fear, guilt, superstition and shame - that corrodes your mind, so you can't carry out thought processes outside the box, nor think of leaving said box. To escape that box is one of the most difficult things a person can do. It's why you see typically sane people like this turn mush once they involve their religion. Some years back my mum was admitted at a hospital a young lady opposite her room refused blood transfusion because she's a JW......She later died before my mum was discharged.

JW is a cult and not even a religion. Life is deeper than we see on the surface level. While we do not pray for misfortune on anyone, we want to strictly say that most times, people get a dose of their medicine. Those people are insensitive and someone here said this person in question has been insensitive to other people's plight. Be that as it may, going by their belief system, they should just stay home and quietly die if their god cannot save them when terminal diseases hit them, since they don't believe in medical sciences. Someone else was talking about eternal life for who? See, eternal life is only for a man who has confessed and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Saviour. Jehos will never do that hence, are at risk of hellfire when they die. And funny thing is they do not believe in God sending any man to hellfire.

And so, her belief as a JW stopped her brains from working effectively to know that treatment is required for illnesses all because Charles Taze Russells said they should reject it?
