Roland17:Ahem. What were you saying?? Your guy's safety valve na him you dey slander so. Almost 150 yards. Just tell your guy to air out the ball I don't care for Pickens. You saw how he behaved when the going got tough and Ceedee Lamb got hurt some days ago |

Cooper Flagg slowly showing he is the real deal. It's quite scary how good he is already for someone who should be a college rookie ATBE. If he ever becomes an even capable 3pt shooter there would be blood |

Roland17:3rd championship? Well here is his last chance, if he can't win it then that seems to validate Chuck's point of him being a bus rider. |

A40:Imagine 3 members of the first team(Shai, Ihart & Lu Dort) and the 6th man, Caruso are sitting, yet the remaining Ninjas on ground are still winning and extending the streak. Crazy! |

| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 3:03pm On Dec 09, 2025 |
Ifedayosteven:Haha.. If anything, KD’s haters are the ones who have remained restless and having sleepless nights. The Warriors recruited him heavily in 2016. Didn’t Green call KD in the parking lot of the Oracle after the loss to the Cavs? The same Warriors came back again chasing him when he was with the Suns but he turned them down. He remains one of the greatest of his generation and all time. He was never a scrub throughout his time there. Y’all should move on or just deal with it. |

| Re: The NBA Begins by Ifedayosteven(m): 3:25pm On Dec 11, 2025 |
Roland17:KD is one of the greatest. No doubt about that and nobody is claiming he was ever a scrub anywhere. But not winning a championship without golden state bugs him and all his fanboys and kind of put an asterisk on his legacy. Your point about golden state chasing him would have been valid if they didn't win before he got there and after he left. My only point is this seems to be the last time to show that he can lead a team to a championship. Peace |
| Re: The NBA Begins by SmooshCHN: 10:53pm On Dec 11, 2025 |
Ifedayosteven:Broski, we left all that in 2018. We are not kids anymore. It's 2025; if you're KD, you have nothing in this life and the next to prove to anybody in the World, USA, NBA; let alone NL concerning basketball. Anyone seriously bringing up this topic has to be doing it for clout or TV time. It can't be a real conversation. It can't. |

| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 11:36pm On Dec 11, 2025 |
A40:Naaa fam! I have said the only way the meerkat gets my validation under any circumstance is by raising banner 19; his 2nd. Has he tried thus far? Yes, but we are riding on JB which is the right thing to do. Hopefully JB stays hot. |

Roland17:Ahn ahn you wan kill am?? Shey na him tear Jayson Tomtom Achilles?? This was supposed to be a write off season the support cast are all gone apart from White and Pritchard but it looks like he might finish with a top 3 seed. If he wins a series or two he definitely should get some credit |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Ifedayosteven(m): 12:23am On Dec 12, 2025 |
SmooshCHN:Since both you and KD are content already, peace. |

A40:And he delivered only one banner with that roster after keeping us above the 2nd apron for 3 years abi? You don hear about the Michigan Football (NCAA) Head coach wahala? |
| Re: The NBA Begins by etidy: 7:05am On Dec 12, 2025*. Modified: 8:20am On Dec 12, 2025 |
SmooshCHN:All this one na fanboy talk. This would have been valid if we are talking about a tier b or c star. KD is in the debate of the greats (Top 10 or 15 all time) and invariably they are held to a higher standard 1. Kobe had to prove he could win without Shaq, we knew he was great but he still had to do it. 2. Steph had to prove his first title without Durant wasn't a fluke and that he could replicate and most importantly win the finals MVP 3. LeBron had to prove he could win outside Miami and Pat Riley/Wade which was why part of why the title at Cleveland was so significant 4. Magic had to show he could beat Bird to be the GOAT of his own era. All the greatest had a monkey, they had to get off their shoulder and durant is no exception. Deep down Durant himself knows it, Assuming he had a couple of deep playoffs run post golden state this may have been a non issue. But he has repeatedly stacked teams and failed to get anywhere. Durant needs to show he can win outside golden state, whether he likes it or not, its important to his legacy. Giannis and Jokic have one title each but most consensus agree that those titles are greater than both titles Durant won at Golden state. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 6:05pm On Dec 12, 2025 |
etidy:Durant doesnt need to show anything. His place in NBA lore is cemented, there is a reason he is still relevant 2 decades in. And GSW needs to be grateful. He gave you guys two rings, without him, you likely only had one, maybe none. Anyhow I see Durant on LinkedIn more than anything else these days, which tells me the guy is more interested in expanding his influence than winning a ring. And I say, good for him. Yall need to understand something about Durant, the team that drafted him, Seattle Supersonics literally left the city and moved to OKC. That must have made an impression in his young mind - at the end of the day, this is a business, a game played by billionaires and mayors. The players are just pawns. The fans are pawns of the the pawns ![]() Lol I cant even believe I am defending Durant, whom I hated for a long time. But I have to respect the work the brother has put in |
| Re: The NBA Begins by SmooshCHN: 7:05pm On Dec 12, 2025 |
etidy:The talk here was “tainted legacy,” not ring counting. I’ll lock it to that. Tryng to deep fry my guy by comparing him to “tier B/C” players and then waving Giannis and Jokic's championship around is desperate. Might as well add Khawi, Tatum to the list. KD has been elite since 2007; it's disrespectful to compare. If you want to compare, bring up players drafted around his time; I would shut up quick. My argument here is; legacy is not just counting rings and “Teaming up” shouldn't be a stain only on Durant. LeBron went to Miami. Bird had a stacked Celtics team. Other legends had help too. Meanwhile, context matters. Competitions he faced earlier in his career in the wild west, injuries, timing and roster. Those things shape careers, KD’s included. Any argument about KD legacy or reducing his career to two rings he balled out for is beer palour talk or for tv gist. Don’t use a purity test you wouldn’t apply to other legends. KD's legacy is satisfactory. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by SmooshCHN: 7:08pm On Dec 12, 2025 |
birdman:All that Draymond talk about "We don't need you. We won without you" is fake deep. Give that man his damm flowers. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 7:38pm On Dec 12, 2025 |
etidy:There are so many fallacies in your response. None of those things you listed on there questioned the greatness of the 4 player listed. I mean you had to go as low as Giannis and Jokic.. KD headlined 2 out of your 4 titles in the modern era/ since the franchise moved to the Bay Area. There is no way you are talking about the Warriors in the modern era and the 2 titles that KD will not top the conversation. You guys are the ones still stuck in that world because KD has moved on and just wants to win. His desire to win has nothing to do with his legacy or any kain asterisk you want to put on his career and championships. When he gets called as a first ballot hall of famer, you can choose to keep your asterisk, it is inconsequential. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 7:50pm On Dec 12, 2025 |
SmooshCHN:They have tried so hard to discredit KD and it continues to fail woefully, now it is legacy and asterisks. No way the Warriors don't win the 2019 NBA finals against the Raptors if KD was healthy and available. We are talking of a player they rushed back after he strained his calf in the semi-finals against the Rockets (A series he dominated and led all warriors scorers until he went down). Of course he ruptured his Achilles because they couldn't keep up with the Raptors. What happened after KD ruptured his Achilles during game 5 of the 2019 NBA Finals? |
| Re: The NBA Begins by aliondo: 9:05pm On Dec 12, 2025 |
K.D is the major reason I'm an OKC fan today.... I no day joke with that guy at all....One of the players that also made me fall in love with the game....I used almost my last cash to purchase a Durant Jersey then at OKC and by the next week, he was gone to the Warriors ...During my off and on rival battles with SmooshCHN (OKC vs Warriors), It was Durant that gave me hope that we could knock them out of the series although we were 3-1 up and still lost |
| Re: The NBA Begins by SmooshCHN: 9:12pm On Dec 12, 2025*. Modified: 9:28pm On Dec 12, 2025 |
Roland17:God bless you for your retentive memory. Had calf strain early in the post season and then proceed to rupture his achilles. We got dragged for "rushing" him after the calf strain and it was well deserved. He returned to basketball like nothing happened and someone on NL is coming to put asterisks. Steph or Draymond in his right senses wouldn't dare say something that ridiculous. Na beer palour gist abeg. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by SmooshCHN: 9:27pm On Dec 12, 2025 |
aliondo:See ehn, KD has come a long way. All that post season hustle at a young age vs Spurs, Memphis, Miami, Dallas, Lakers. NBA MVP: 2014 NBA Champion: 2× (2017, 2018) | Finals MVP: 2× (2017, 2018) if e reach your turn no add am Scoring titles: 4 freaking times (2010, 2011, 2012, 2014) All-Star: 15x All-NBA: 11x Rookie of the Year: 2008 He did most of these consistently when you had to work for every point not now when no one can't breathe around you. Dude straight up just comes to play and go home. No flopping, flailing or looking for loopholes in the rule. He just plays. People need to be realistic abeg. And for you and your OKC boys, I honestly didn't care too much about you guys last season but good lord what are those boys doing now?? I hope your boys break the Warriors regular season record. I don't think I want you guys to win a championship if you break the record. The disrespect will be too much. They will come and put asterisks on Steph, Klay and Draymond's legacy ![]() And for real, fans like you deserve to be happy (just a little bit sha) for real. People like us, we be old taker. All my hope in the Warriors died when they let Draymond get away with harassing KD and punching J.Poole. |
| Re: The NBA Begins by etidy: 10:02pm On Dec 12, 2025 |
The problem I see here is that you guys are not being objective You assume two things anyone who says Durant still has something to prove is 1. A warriors fan 2. Is not a Kevin Durant fan. That's fanboy behaviour. For the record, i am a fan of Kevin Durant, in my opinion he's one of the greats. He's at least top 15 all time in terms of his legacy, Top 2 or 3 in terms of his scoring ability and overall skill set. However, Talent and Skillset is different from legacy and that's why fan boys Who view things from the lens of Good or bad get things wrong. You can absolutely give Kevin Durant his flowers while pointing out where he has failed. His failure is part of his overall legacy. IS DURANT ONE OF THE GREATS? YES, HOWEVER WHEN COMPARING THE GREATS, THE FINE DETAILS OF HOW MANY AND HOW DIFFICULT THE TITLES THEY WON MATTERS. Joining a 73 win team who has been to back to back finals, who had a reigning back to back MVP and three active all stars skewed the league. You can't erase that from his legacy. Did they win those titles because of him? Yes he was a critical factor. Regardless those titles don't carry the same weight as that of Giannis or Jokic. ALL TITLES DON'T WEIGHT THE SAME. |
